Early detection and better treatments helped prevent 322,000 breast cancer deaths between 1989 and 2015.

A new American Cancer Society (ACS) report shows that the breast cancer death rate decreased by 39 percent during those years.

It’s encouraging news.

But breast cancer remains a significant health problem.

It’s second only to lung cancer as the leading cause of cancer deaths among women in the United States.

The disease affects women and men of all ages.

The management of University of Ibadan (UI) has announced plans to withdraw 580 100 level students from the institution.

The University` Vice Chancellor, Professor Abel Olayinka, said this while lamenting over poor performance of the students.

Olayinka said 580 of the 2,961 students admitted into the University last year performed woefully in their first semester examination.

There was confusion in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital and Akure, the Ondo State Tuesday morning following reports of the military vaccination in the states.
The incident was replica of what was witnessed in some South East states last week.
It was gathered that when the news broke out Tuesday morning that some soldiers were in the states to immunize children, parents besieged schools in Port Hacourt and Akure to take their children and wards home.
