Four expatriates were at the weekend rescued by men of the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Naval Forward Operating Base (FOB) Igbokoda from kidnappers in Ilaje Local Government of Ondo State.

The victims, said to be Chinese were kidnapped on their way from Lagos through Ayeton Creeks to Ogooluayo community along Ebute by a gang of sea pirates.

In the operation of the joint routine patrol on the waterway, men of the Nigerian Army and Navy intercepted the sea pirates and their victims.

A former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba, has expressed doubt over chances of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), winning the upcoming 2019 Presidential Election.

He said that  noted that if APC fails to do its homework, many of its leaders will join former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Meanwhile he also said that South West leaders of the APC need to sit with President Buhari and renegotiate their alliance.

He said, I have told you that I am holding a delicate and important position within the APC in the South West. I have access at every level to express my views at the age of 78.

I will be honest with you. The health challenges that our president faced, was a serious challenge to the party itself, that created some problem for us.

I am happy that the president himself is back and immediately called a major national caucus meeting on October 30, followed by NEC meeting and we took certain decisions there. I hope those decisions will be implemented.

I don't want to talk publicly about it. I still believe in what I said there that we need serious rethinking. Take for example, party membership, with the situation in PDP now, we need to open our doors and really do serious recruitment of members at the grassroots.

Dustin Hoffman is facing more allegations of sexual misconduct.
Variety reported accusations from three women against the legendary actor.
CNN has reached out to Hoffman for comment.
Cori Thomas says the actor exposed himself to her in a hotel room in 1980 when she was 16 and a friend of his daughter.
Melissa Kester told Variety that Hoffman sexually assaulted her at a recording studio. She says he was tracking audio for the 1987 film “Ishtar,” and that she was a recent college graduate at the time.

Mr. Idris died at the age of 82, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

The Niger State Police Command said on Thursday that it had arrested a 49-year-old man, Garba Tukura, for allegedly murdering his neighbor, Musa Wassa. Minister of Niger Delta, Usani Usani, yesterday, flayed previous governments over the strategic East-West Road, which he said was designed to fail.
According to him, “the East West road is a project that has been messed up from inception, naturally designed to fail by all the agreements and designed concepts that we have seen.”
Usani who made the claim at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo said names of between 30 and 40 contractors would be sent to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for prosecution for their roles in the East West Road as well as other projects awarded in the Niger Delta ministry by previous administrations.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, on Thursday promised the National Economic Council consisting of state governors that the fuel scarcity being witnessed in parts of the country will end within 48 hours.

According to a report by Punch, Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki revealed this to State House correspondents at the end of a meeting of the council presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.
