I read on their website (Chen) that they'll write the letters of recommendation for you; did they actually keep to that promise? How many letters did you submit?

You do not need to engage a lawyer for the next step of the immigrant visa process. As mentioned earlier, simply await the welcome letter from the NVC and proceed with the DS260 Application online. In my situation, which I believe is similar to others, I completed the online application and submitted the following documents: a copy of the marriage certificate, a birth certificate (issued by NPC), a photocopy of the passport page, a police clearance certificate (from Nigeria and South Africa), and a document cover sheet. Ensure that these documents are all in color. While you are waiting for the letter, it is recommended that you begin the process of obtaining birth certificates from NPC and police clearance certificates for all the countries in which you have resided for more than 12 months, both for yourself and your spouse.
