Hi Colleagues,

It's been 25 days since filing I-140 Petition premium processing. Does it usually takes this much time? I thought PP is just 1-2 weeks

It is around 45 days!

Finally here, after seeing all pages.

Nice thread Mary! Hope yours turned out well.

Although 90% of contributions and applicants are based in Nigeria which was not originally intended, it has kept the discourse moving.

More accounts of F1 to EB2-NIW applications would be well appreciated as the procedure is quite different.

MS completed, PhD starts next year.
Research Assistant,
2conference appearances/presentations
2 conference papers
1 conference research poster,
2 professional body' memberships,
Volunteered for a top Agency in the US.

Do I apply before starting PhD or after I begin as a DIY applicant?
Can I send send you PM?

What was not originally intended please??

Thank you for your response. Did you do WES evaluation of your credentials for Equivalency? If yes, is it CxC or DxD?

I read on their website (Chen) that they'll write the letters of recommendation for you; did they actually keep to that promise? How many letters did you submit?

I use WES for my evaluation; I do not know what you mean by CxC or DxD. Chen will write the recommendation letter; recommendation letter number is dependent on how solid your case is; I suggest you contact them, let them confirm they will take your case and you can proceed to ask them ANY questions that you want. Cheers!

Please what did they charge as attorney's fee?

This 101days, does it include time taken to gather your documents or 101days after your case file was submitted?

I started the process March, submitted in June and got approval in October. My main challenge was getting recommenders which took 2 months.

For the amount; I paid 5000 USD and 700 USD for filling. This amount is what I paid. It maybe different or the same.

@RandD Congrats on your approval, could you please introduce me to the law firm you used. Note I'm currently outside Nigeria. Thanks alot

You can use Chen. They usually work best for people with articles and reasonable citations. I used Chen and got approval in 101 days without RFE. Remember, approval is case dependent.

their email for free evaluation: attorneys@chenassociates.com

Good luck!!!

Greetings,

I'd appreciate your insights on the following matter:

If someone has already received approval for their National Interest Waiver (NIW), would it be deemed inappropriate or classified as visa fraud if that individual pursues a Ph.D. in the USA and applies for a student visa? It's worth noting that, during the NIW petition, the person initially submitted a Ph.D. as part of his exhibit; but now wishes to pursue a Ph.D. in a related yet distinct field.

Him and his family will still undergo consular processing but he his afraid that going ahead with this plan may cause some complication. Please your sincere opinion/advise is needed.

Thanks

1. In my opinion, it's essential to save enough to support yourself and your family for at least three months.
2. You'll need to obtain police clearance certificates for both France and Nigeria. However, getting police report for Germany will depend on whether you're visiting briefly or for a fellowship for more than 6 months. I spent two months at the University of Cambridge in the UK and didn't need to obtain a UK police certificate, even though I mentioned my visit in my DS260 application.
3. Yes, someone made the payment for me using his US account because a Routing number was required during the payment process.
4. My I-140 petition was approved on April 14, 2023, and I received my welcome letter on May 3, 2023. So, you can expect it to take approximately a month or less.
5. I'll reply to your email with my WhatsApp contact information.

Thanks. I will expect your email.

chemashie:

You do not need to engage a lawyer for the next step of the immigrant visa process. As mentioned earlier, simply await the welcome letter from the NVC and proceed with the DS260 Application online. In my situation, which I believe is similar to others, I completed the online application and submitted the following documents: a copy of the marriage certificate, a birth certificate (issued by NPC), a photocopy of the passport page, a police clearance certificate (from Nigeria and South Africa), and a document cover sheet. Ensure that these documents are all in color. While you are waiting for the letter, it is recommended that you begin the process of obtaining birth certificates from NPC and police clearance certificates for all the countries in which you have resided for more than 12 months, both for yourself and your spouse. Congratulations!

Thanks, @Chemashie. May I please ask you some more questions?

1. I've taken the time to read the thread from page 1 to 25, and I noticed a post where someone shared their experience. They mentioned that the Visa Officer (VO) asked if they already had a job, among other things. I believe this question is related to how one plans to support their family upon arrival in the USA. So, I would like to ask, how much should one save up to navigate this requirement?

2. I've spent 1 year in France, and I am currently in Germany. Do I need a police report for both of these countries, in addition to the one from Nigeria? If so, does it have an expiration date?

3. I plan to handle the next stage of the process myself. However, I've heard that someone in the USA needs to pay the fees on your behalf. Is this information accurate?

4. How long will I wait to get the welcome letter from NVC. On my approval, the date is 05.10.2023 and my PD is 27.06.2023.

5. Is there a way I can connect with you more efficiently, such as through email or any of the social media platforms you are active on?
I apologize for the length of my questions, but I'll stop here for now and await your response.

Thank you.

Hello guys, I jus got my I-140 approved and I await my priority date to be current. I used Chen immigration law firm and they are very good. My application took less than 4 months to be approved. I have some questions:

1. I will be going for the consular processing since I am not in the USA.

2. Do I need to submit any document to show proof of fund or accommodation? if yes what is the amount for a family of four.

3. Although I am waiting for welcome letter from the NVC can someone share a document for DIY? I don't have 4k dollars to pay lawyers again.

I will appreciate if I get answer here or to my email: johndamisa66@gmail.com. THANKS!!!
