Nope you need to showcase funds for just one year not three years.if your study program is three years you will be given a one year residence permit.you need to just show proof of funds for one year.while in sweden, you will still renew the permit before it expires by providing another bank statement to cover the followinv year.

I know someone with a 2,2 who got 100 percent scholarship at karlstad.that was a university scholarship and not the swedish institute scholarship which also covers the accomodation, flight and personal expenses.there are no exams taken for these scholarships.mostly motivation letters,recommendation letters and work experience are the requirements
