A gas engine generates power by burning fuel and air. Part of the power that it generates is consumed by the accessories attached to the engine via the serpentine belt. An AC compressor consumes about 3–4 horsepower to run. So yes, a small part of the horsepower is consumed by the AC system. That means that some small portion of gas goes into producing that power that would otherwise not be used without an AC system. Also on really hot summer days the AC system may cause your engine fan to turn on when idling or at low speed because of excessively high temperatures and pressures in the AC system. That will require more power from the alternator and may kick your vehicle into a high idle to handle it which would also consume more fuel. However, t oday’s automobiles are generally so aerodynamically efficient, at highway speeds if you open a window it’s akin to tossing a small drag chute behind you. That carefully engineered airflow over your car is disrupted, causing increased drag. Engineers have demonstrated that running A/C in a modern car generally saves you gas than just opening a window. Especially when you are moving at a slow pace of 20km/h thus the faster you go, the greater the savings. http://naijacarlovers.com/index.php/2018/01/06/running-the-ac-and-opening-the-window-which-is-more-efficient/

Do you have more than one car, thus want to park one because you barely drive it. If you are traveling and need to park your car till you come back from your trip, here are some maintenance tips that will help sustain your car's durability. PARK YOUR CAR IN A SHADE It will be wise for you to park your car in a garage while traveling. You could as well park it under the shade in a situation where you don't have a garage. You could cover it with a car cover. This will save the car from harsh weather conditions, dusts or even prevent kids from scratching your car. DO NOT ENGAGE HAND BRAKE Don't engage the car's hand brake for the car you won't drive for a while. This is because the brake pads could get stuck and will cost you some money when you are ready to drive the car. Rather use wheel chocks otherwise called wedge to prevent your car from rolling. FILL THE FUEL TANK One of the problem you will encounter after parking a car for a long time is a leaking fuel tank due to rusting in the tank. However, you could avert such scenario by filling your fuel tank before parking the car. ENGINE MAINTENANCE It's better you service your car engine before parking it for a long time. It will also be nice you remove the car's battery from the car especially if you won't be around for long. http://www.naijacarlovers.com/2017/03/how-to-maintain-car-you-want-to-park.html?m=1

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) said it will digitalize the whole processes of registration, transfer or relocation of voters cards. Mahmood Yakubu This was revealed by the INEC chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu during a media interface in Abuja, weekend. Prof Yakubu speaking on why the commission intends to digitalize the process said it was due to disinterest exhibited by Nigerian voters, with regards to the collection of their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs. Yakubu said the monthly returns he continued to receive from the commission’s state offices were not encouraging, saying in some areas, where uncollected PVCs were as large as 400,000, only a paltry 30 pieces were collected in some months. He said: “It (PVC collection) is a big issue. I have been receiving monthly returns from the state offices, but sometimes there would be 400,000 PVCs uncollected in a state and the monthly return would show only 30 as having been collected. ‘’People don’t want to collect. It has to be tied to something, maybe, election is around the corner and they wish to vote, there is an incentive for them to do so. The director of ICT was telling me that the issue of cards is always tied to something. ”http://nghubs.com/inec-to-adopt-e-registration-of-voters/

Sunday Adeshina, a secondary school economics teacher of Great Esteem Private Secondary School, Ijeshatedo, Lagos state, have been reprimanded in Kirikiri prison for flogging a student. According to our correspondence Mr Sunday flogged an SS3 student identified as Onyinye Nwakaeme till she started bleeding for failing a question. According to Onyinye, She was copying note during economics class. The 14years old SS3 student who just returned from his father’s burial was called out alongside others by the teacher and we’re told to explain what he has been teaching. She said the teacher flogged her for not getting the question right. Onyinye said “We were taking Economics class that day and I was busy copying note. I had just returned from my father’s burial. Being behind schedule, I used every available time to copy my notes because I had a lot to write. “The teacher saw me and called me out with some people, claiming that we were making noise and asked us to explain what he had been teaching. I didn’t get the question right because I was really not paying attention to him. Out of anger, he started flogging me. “He flogged me to the point that I was bleeding on my head and he didn’t stop. Even when the proprietor asked him to stop, he was fierce and wanted to flog me more.” Onyinye and her siblings stormed the school the next day demanding why their sister was flogged in such an inhumane manner but Mr Sunday was absent. The siblings took the next line of action and reported the case to Ago Police Station. This led to the indefinite suspension of Onyinye by the school. Mr Sunday Adesina was arrested by the Ago Police officers and charged to court for assault. However he failed to meet up with the bail requirement of seventy thousand naira (N70,000) thus was sent to kirikiri prison till he meets up with the bail requirements http://nghubs.com/teacher-lands-in-kirikiri-after-flogging-student/
