Bollinger:
This probably is the weirdest post i have ever read. There is nothing like high risk trading. Forex is a low risk game. A traders tenure in forex will definitely be short if he/she employs high risk. You are dealing with a business where probably 30 trades out of a hundred will be successful, so why would you trade with a high percentage of your capital? Unless of course a trader has a system which has a ninety percent win rate. I am yet to see a system like that. You don't even need a win rate that high to be successful. Thirty to forty percent and you are golden. There is a reason why the most successful traders in the world stress on using no more than three to five percent of one's capital. Anyway to each his own.

#GBPAUD , there will be likely huge price demand around the 61.8 fib level area (the statistically typical weekly range for this pair), sending it up to #2.091 or #2.10 area.. looking to sell further from there ending a bearish week or continue long as a reversal based on system.

Just my chua chua market analysis

whatever disgusts you is your problem, try to deal with it...
But calling yourself a true statistician sounds more disgusting.
Capitals:
Dude didn't ask you to explain moving means over specific time periods, just said he did't believe in them. and you go ''LOL, its statistics''

That will DISGUST any true STATISTICIAN.

And yes, I m proudly naija.
BusinessRe: Forex Trading - Season 15 by jorel1(m):
My friend, moving averages is simply statistics, don't argue unnecessarily
if you claim to bag a degree in statistics (is it third class or pass??)and don't know this then probably because of the obvious (someone didn't attend classes, although i don't know how it works in your Universities in Nigeria. however the school that gave you that degree should be probed.) ... something i use all the time in my doctoral work on random processes.
your question was how is moving averages related to statistics
Capitals:
Sorry bro, I must have skipped high school before I bagged a degree in Ind maths/Applied statistics . From the little I know you are blabbing.

But as I said, its the little I know. It also tells me you are best ignored (Even a fifth grader can tell that)

hmm, (mean, average) value of price within a time period (every high school graduate would know this), price will always revert to the mean. However literally also acting as dynamic support or resistance.

I once used an ARIMA model - box Jenkins methodology based on moving averages using the R programme to forecast crude oil prices within a time period, so if you need more mathematical description of statistics, let me know.

Capitals:
How is this statistics please . . .

BusinessRe: Forex Trading - Season 15 by jorel1(m): 7:08am On Jul 21, 2015
High risk trading, low risk trading, medium risk trading all depends on the traders appetite and control for risk..the fact that a trader executes low risk trades doesn't necessarily make him any more profitable or a better trader than the high risk trader.
If the market is all about risk , you need to learn how to optimize the risk and take calculated risk . .. you need good mathematical skills for this anyway. There isn't any best way to trade
most traders just feel they are already expert in trading and thus refuse to keep learning further (seeing other traders approach to trading and adding more tactics to your system), this will enable you make good use of the leverage (moderate leverage ofcourse) the market has to offer.

Newbies, note! This is how you know the originals. Pls ignore the smarter guys. Its the supposedly 'dumb' or 'not so bright' people like this that can take you into the promise land, not the 'smart' folks trading like a carousel, 4,000 pips per day, after 4 years they are still looking for subscribers. Marketers. They are many. At the end of the day, they all fall down.

Ps: Its actually possible to make kazillion amount of pips per day. But when you come with this assurance of a sleep walker and speak in certainty, excluding the probability parts of the market, and project an 100% perfect mechanism, bro, you loose my attention.

When a trader gets frustrated of the market , he either writes a book (funny a enough they write very good books) to sell or open a school of trade or or create a trading you-tube channel or create webpage for signals subscription..even traders trading without stoploss or rejoicing for 10 pips won grin grin grin
After going through all the stress of trading the market, it makes sense to relax and quietly enjoy profit made (if he is really making profits), i don't understand why go through additional stress to open trading school.
millionaires make money and keep their mouth shut, they dont even teach others how they made their money, they only recruit
In forex its a different ball game entirely

i dont know who is talking about speculation or liquidity . when has an open discussion or personal view turned out to be a forced view (Its becomes a forced view only if you accepted it)huh
(even your statement speculates only make up 5% of the fx market..... 95% of liquidity comes from Cen. Banks and Large Corps who just want to hedge out business costs is as well a speculation on the market shocked shocked) you went totally offpoint.
So why not take your accumulated anger or hot temper elsewhere better still use it to scare your kids at home. grin grin grin

Well, when it begins descent i will follow..nonetheless if the buying power supersedes that of the sellers it will just break through that resistance.. when i used indicators in the past, i have seen the stochastic cross as high as the 80 level and price just kept on going until its tired..everything is possible in the market.

Follow the money: the money is in the current trend. angry
Justiyke4u:
is not a wish or hope. On the daily tf price is currently on the overbought condition on stochastics with the indecision candle (doji) that formed at market close on Friday and as a result of that profit will be taken which could result in a pull back and meanwhile the window (gap) created 2 weeks ago is not yet closed. Failure of price to close such window could lead to price finding resistance (which is already happening) at that level.

Note that in Fx people use probable words and not certainty words. This is because in Fx everything is a probability so when I used the phrase I think it is an expression of subjective opinion because what I say is what I see which may be different from what another is seeing but thanks though I wish you could explain what you meant by follow the money I like the idea
BusinessRe: Forex Trading - Season 15 by jorel1(m): 1:50pm On Jul 18, 2015
Like i always say, never wish or hope for any thing in the market, just follow the money until your system tells you otherwise.
For me, i follow the buyers for now..

Justiyke4u:
I think is in an overbought condition and we may see a bearish signal soon

Meanwhile has sanity returned to this thread? Is been ages
BusinessRe: Forex Trading - Season 15 by jorel1(m): 5:32am On Jul 18, 2015
But i think a trader who knows what he is doing should know a particular currency pair is capable of moving a certain number of pips from his order position.

So its not dicey

mmse:
Sir. little drops of water makes the ocean (abi na how dem De talk am self?...lol)

Sometimes when I'm driving and sure market presents itself, I place my trade and take the little profit I see without SL (my decision though).

waiting to get a big profit in one trade is dicey.

I'm contented with the little I see.

Anyway I'm human. Don't think I don't makes loses too.

combination of news report coming from England , most especially Report from the central bank president last Tuesday.,it could also be some insider information.
Although, The big institutions interprete the News differently from the way small traders does.
However , the major fundamental is the strength of the GBP.

AK284:
Technically yes it is ,but there is a driving force [a currency pair can not be over bought when there is a fundamental factor pushing it higher, it keeps undermining the usefulness of technicals] pushing it higher ,moreover if it were overbought in this sense ,then todays bear move would have sent it much lower. a new high is anticipated in the coming week, hence i guess todays dip might be its last visit to the 191.Bleep area.
Just my take

@jorel1
Abeg wetin be the fundamental wei dey drive this pair(G/J) up ?
