Travel / Re: Abuja Vs Lagos: Which Is More Advisable For Relocation? by josheke(m): 11:42am On Mar 04, 2020
I grew up in Abuja and my family still live there. I currently reside and do business in Lagos.

Fun in Abuja is narrowed down to the following.... Clubs, bar, cinema, one dead lake (jabi lake) and cheap s*x with girls from border states that I would not mention. It only becomes fun if you have friends that like what you like.
Business also is good but you have to invest in businesses that appeals to low or middle class people then maybe one day, someone on the top can see your work and patronize you. Safety is not guaranteed anywhere there because people indulged in crime are not touts but people who are very learned. They plan every move carefully and because there is no traffic at set hours of the day and almost zero roadblocks, they get away almost everytime.

Lagos is hectic but I consider it safe. So many fun places for family and friends to hang out. High tech places, low tech places and local chill spots. You do not need to know anyone here to make a living as you are given a chance to prove yourself making it more like your work speaks for you. All the fun you hope to have in Abuja is here in Lagos and more.

The decision is yours. What kind of person are you?
Abuja is good but boring
Lagos is hectic but active. Even in traffic, you still catch fun and if you will be setting up a business and not working for someone, I think you should do lagos

*My opinion*

Travel / Re: How Has The Ban On Keke And Okada In Lagos Affected You? by josheke(m): 3:57pm On Feb 01, 2020
Nukilia:

You go there a day earlier grin Locate a guest house around and trek 5 mins to your location

So we should spend about 15k at the cheapest hotel in VI just for a job you are maybe going to see for the first time and not sure if you will get or for a maintenance you are about to carryout that may only fetch you about 10k or in some cases, a big thank you.

Mind you, this is your daily routine.

I am sure most of you saying trek don't stay in Lagos cus if you do, you will know that without these means, most people would have been out of jobs and what not.

Shay you Wan trekk from Ikeja to Lekki in 45min?

Most of us who are entrepreneurs will find it double tough especially those in the home / office service business.

This is what your new text messages will now look like say you get 7am meeting for Victoria Island and you dey live for Mowe and must have left you house at 5:30am....
7:30am: "I am so sorry I am not there yet. We just got on 3rd mainland due to terrible traffic.

9:15am:"kindly be patient sir. We are very close to Osbourne estate traffic light.

And at 12:25pm: Please sir, I just got to the gate/reception.

All this hustle then you are told OGA NO DEY.

CHAIIIIII!!!

then you start the reverse journey.... Lagosians, you know the rest.

Then after experiencing this like 5 times, your customers must have lost all the trust they had in you

Pls no body should say plan your time because there is no planning in this State...

As usual, God will help Us

I will appreciate all with relevant information as my application depends on your feedbacks.

Thanks in anticipation
Career / Re: Should I Quit My Job Or Not? by josheke(m): 11:42pm On Aug 01, 2019
So sorry I don't comment, I only read but I feel I have something to say to the OP....
After ssce, I and few of my friends took jamb. We all passed but I wasn't admitted that year and the next and the next. Some of my guys were already in their final year when I decided to run to a private polytechnic just so that I know I was in school.

While I was home, I did all sort of odd jobs to make hands meet then I finally settled for electrical technician job. By the time I will get into school, I was about the biggest boy in school and it was a walk in the park cus everything I wanted I had.

I have finally graduated with HND in computer science and just completed my NYSC July 4th. I have a beautiful wife and a cute son. I own a ICT company in Lagos and have driven 3 personal cars, own lands in Abuja, delta and Lagos etc as I cannot list all my achievements.

Those my guys are still saving money to get married. No good job and nothing to hold on to. They are even willing to work for me.

My advice to you is....
Leave that thing you call a job cus it's not.
Go Learn a trade. I will list a couple
1. Generator repairs - as a graduate, people will patronize you more cus your style and packaging will be different.
2. Electrical work
3. Motor mechanic - Learn the basics for the bosses and train yourself the rest of the way.
4. Tiling and painting.

The best part is that non of these jobs takes up to 4 months to understand and even start having your own clients. Zero capital.

You can survive on 11k a month because you are been feed by maybe a guidian or your parents. They should continue feeding you while you look for a way of life. You may not touch money for months but when it starts coming, it will make up for all the 11kzzz you missed and more..

I hope you read this and resign today
