Being poor with envy must be a curse tueh

I'm very proud of Innoson ( though their cars should be cheaper) but what the poster said about their logo is true. Branding is everything these days and the current IVM logo looks dated. A few years back a brilliant young man designed a new lovely logo for them which the IVM chairman acknowledged was cool, but cited costs as to why they couldn't implement it then. But over 4 years now, methinks they could have gradually phased out the old if it was a priority for them. Nigerian companies need to also think global. Finally, constructive criticism is not a bad thing. Let's learn the difference

True!

But i feel, ehen Exodus and Pentecost Day shows us the difference i am pointing out which is Yes, God is present and His Rule is seen and felt however, on the day He showed Himself to Isreal on the Mountain and the day of the dedication of His Tabernacle and Pentecost Day shows us the difference between where He is and the presence of His Rule.

Which is why it written "Where The Spirit of The Lord is, there is..." which clearly shows that there is a difference Where God is and where He is not, even though He Rules and His Rule and presence is felt.

See it now that you cannot counter the next thing you do is to make accusation.

No where did i say God is not everwhere. But i definitely said I don't need to be close to a person to see and to know.

So, while the OP's and your main points are valid in essence, the truth is that Psalm 139 as pointed out does prove that GOD is everywhere ( I mean which place can be worse than hell?). But the point you are not making quite clear is that GOD does not approve of some gatherings, though HE is present. HE will not condone, support, or manifest HIS Grace in these places, though HE is present. If GOD departs from a place or person, it would cease to exist because HE holds all things together and in HIM all things consist. But the most important thing is that the OP's and your message is valid and anyone who has ears to hear should hear.

It is required that diplomats get information about other countries, so I would guess that russian diplomats assigned to the USA would take an interest in USA elections.

Actually, it's backed by evidence, refer to the reported statements by Putin, et al, and even the just reported remark from the white house asking Putin to stop talking about the US elections, anyway sha, I don exit. One love

I think what you fail to see is that Russia doesn't give a hoot about who becomes president of the USA. It is the USA's paranoia and guilt which keeps making up that Russia is manipulating USA's elections. The americans project their sins upon Russia. Whoever wins the USA elections will be following the CIA script which doesn't depend on the elected leader.

But if it as you say, why the keen following of all updates about the US elections by the highest levels of Russian government. In a strategic sense, it would be a misstep for the Russian government not to care who leads in a nation acclaimed to be their biggest rival militarily and despite the new Russian democracy, even ideologically

Putin has SPENT $10 Million on RIGHT WING influencers like Tim Pool with the SOLE mandate of pushing Republican PROPAGANDA and getting Trump elected.

And the TEN MILLION USD is just the one we know about. His attempt to mockingly endorse Harris means NOTHING.

EVERYBODY knows that Biden and the Democratic Party are the ONLY ones keeping Ukraine from being conquered by Putin while Trump and the Republican Party are very much in support of letting Putin do what he wants to Ukraine.

Plus, Trump WORSHIPS Putin. The only time he talks about Putin is to PRAISE him. His admiration for Putin cannot be DENIED.

Also ATTACKING Harris's laughter is something STRAIGHT out of the Republican playbook. It's almost like BOTH the Republicans and Putins are playing the same game. grin

Putin made a MISTAKE.

You don't run a $10M election interference to elect ONE person and go to the media to say who you REALLY want is his opponent. You ESPECIALLY don't do it 24 hours after your election interference was revealed.

It's NOT savvy or smart. It's a WEAK and STUPID move that reeks of desperation.

Unless it's reverse psychology: endorse someone hoping the USA's voting public's knee jerk reaction to a traditional foreign adversary drives them in the opposite direction.

https://talesoftimesforgotten.com/2020/02/24/sorry-the-shroud-of-turin-is-definitely-a-hoax/

What’s even more interesting is that the arms of the figure on the Turin Shroud are also different lengths. The right forearm is noticeably longer than the left forearm. The fact that the arms aren’t the same length is almost a dead giveaway that we’re looking at an image created by an artist and not the exact likeness of a real human being. Real human beings virtually always have arms of the same length, but it is really easy for an artist to mess up and make arms that aren’t the same length.

Finally, we have a smoking gun: the front side of the figure on the shroud doesn’t match the back side of the figure. In fact, the two figures aren’t even the same length; the front side of the figure on the shroud is 1.95 meters long, but the figure on the back of the shroud is 2.02 meters long!

This is absolutely a dead giveaway that we’re looking at the work of an artist. It’s easy to see how an artist could have painted the figures separately and accidentally made the back side of the figure longer than the front side, but it is hard to see how, if the shroud were authentic, Jesus’s back could have been longer than his front. That in itself would take some kind of miracle.

I suggest that you do us all a favor. Go lie down on your back. Now, remember that you're a dead person, so keep your triceps (the back part of your upper arms) on the floor like a dead person.

Now cover your penis or your mons (the V of your thighs where your pubic hair grows) with your hands--without removing your arms from the floor. Remember, you're both dead, but also really, really prissy and don't want anyone to see your crotch.

Go on, we'll wait. Report back how you were able to cover your groin with your hands whilst dead and with your arms flopping around like fishes.

They may have (maybe, if you trust catholics) changed the "carbon dating" part, but there are still loads and loads of other problems with this silly thing. There's nothing to be afraid of.

More fun reading:

https://centerforinquiry.org/blog/the_fraud_of_turin/

The intellectually dishonest presentation even carried the unchallenged assertion that no artistic materials were found on the cloth. In fact, famed microanalyst Walter McCrone discovered that the body image (in contrast to off-image areas) had significant amounts of artist’s pigment. The show repeated the false assertion that the “blood” stains were “human” blood, when in fact they failed batteries of forensic serological tests for blood, and McCrone identified the suspiciously still-red substance as red ocher and vermilion tempera paint.

Fantastic! With this your big brain and infallible intellect, there's nothing between you and the $1m offered for proving the shroud is a fraud.

Thanks. If you look at it critically though, Harry Potter is in the same fantasy genre as the Chronicles of TC which you liked. The message in HP is overwhelmingly a battle of good against evil and the value of having friends who are there for each other through thick and thin. The "witchery" was just a unique commercial angle and I can tell you that nobody feels sympathetic to witchcraft after reading that book.

By the way, first time I read HP, I spent over 24 hours continuously eating up the over 1800-pages volumes without food. No other book could have made me do that.

Yeah Dean Koontz is a bit dark but what will you then say about Stephen King lol. Truly I got a bit tired of Koontz novels after a while but By the light of the moon is quite different from Koontz's regular horror vibe. It is an actual thriller and was completely hooked all through.

I haven't read the COTC series. I have only come across its reference several times just as J.R Tolkien's lord of the rings.

If you like epic adventure and enlightening scripts, please read Shogun. It's voluminous but worth the read as an all time classic.
Hi, thanks, last thing first, read Shogun and liked it though it gets tedious at times, and yes HP and COTC are both fantasy. I don't have any thing against fantasy as a genre, however I'm partial to books in that genre that maintain a distinct philosophy of a supreme being who is fundamentally good. In the case of HP, the good versus evil theme is spurn out in the world of the book, without real world relevance, as in good witches fighting evil witches. For Stephen King, read only one of his books and never tried another one. Sure HP is fascinating but it's root ideology is not exactly my thing.

Could this be a book about a poor mallam that lost his betrothed to a rich man and then went in search of an herbalist to help render their only child useless?

It's been long I read that book, but a phrase I will never forget I read in the novel was when the betrothed told the poor Hallam that, a woman is like a cloth in the market; it's not the first person that price it that eventually gets to buy it.

Damn! That phrase stuck to my mind, though I was in pry 4 then when I read the book.

Harry Potter series 1 - 7 by J.K Rowling is the most interesting and engaging piece of literature I've ever read, but I don't consider it a novel due to the length.

For proper novels, my best five are:

1. Windmill of the Gods - Sidney Sheldon (The don of unexpected twists, mindblowing suspense and action. Number 1 for a reason)

2. By the light of the moon - Dean Koontz (Exciting mystery, thriller, gave me my first insight into fictional nanotechnology)

3. Kane & Abel - Jeffery Archer (a masterpiece in family politics, plots & business intrigues)

4. Shogun - James Clavell (Greatest epic book imo. My first introduction to Seppuku and other Asian practices)

5. Beyond Pardon - Bertha M. Clay (greatest romance novel in my opinion and to think it was written since 1890)

Locally, my best five:

1. The Gods are not to blame - Ola Rotimi

2. Arrows of God - Chinua Achebe

3. An African night's entertainment - Cyprian Ekwensi

4. A gift to the troubled tribe - Segun Okunoren

5. Shaka Zulu (the funny sounding names like bulawayo, dingiswayo were so fascinating to me at the time combined with the epic plot)

By the way who remembers the book below:

Great list except for the Harry Potter thing. Didn't read but I try to avoid books that seem to actively promote witchcraft or the occult. Have read all the rest except for Dean Koontz who is a bit too dark for me. Bertha M. Clay is just sensational, and I recently began to read her again under her USA alias, Charlotte M. Brame. Btw, have you tried the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R. Donaldson?

Oh, not read Segun O either

By the way, just a grammatical exercise, does anyone think that this part: My primary concern, quite predictably, is the continuing deterioration of the state’s seizure of protest management, is a double negative, and in effect, prof is saying the opposite of his intended meaning? I'm not speaking from a place of expert knowledge, but the reason there are more disbursements for Northern Universities may be just because there are more applicants from there. Students in the South, most of whose parents can afford or manage to pay their fees and upkeep expenses, may be hesitant to apply for these loans. Or it may just be an 'I don't need their money' type of thing. You see, it's not automatic. You need to apply. But this is my advice. Take the money. It's Federal money. And there is no blowback. Just take the money, abeg.

Let's stop blaming people for failing, or giving up. We might only blame them for not trying or being lazy.
Around 18:30 and 18:50 today Sat 29, I attempted hanging myself to the ceiling fan in my room.
I checked online, to see if there's anyone I could even speak with, or thereabout. I called LUTH, LASG, and NG suicide hotlines, they're mostly switched off.
Later, I switched to listening to Cece Winans - Goodness of God (on replay), and praying in the Spirit.

Friends, please be nice to people, love genuinely, pray for them. Even if you don't have money, kindly reach out, let them share the love, warmth, and strength that you have. The strength of a chain is in it's links. One shall chase a thousand and two would put ten thousand to flight.

For about 6 years now, I'd been battling depression (not having anything to do with finances). I just would have appreciated if there's someone to talk with, and who'd sincerely listen. This past two weeks seem almost dark, but I thank God his love never fails, He's Emmanuel.

Thank GOD you found a way to reach out to HIM. Suicide and depression are indeed spirits that you can fight with GOD's Word and HIS hope. If it helps, I'm willing to listen anytime you or anyone else needs someone to talk to. Please just send a PM

I don't know if there's a God or not.
But it's obvious it/he/she does not interfere in the affairs of men.
No special benefits whatsoever for believing in the existence of a God.

As a Nigerian, you'd still fail exams if u do not prepare well. You'd still fail interviews with no proper connections. You'd still fall sick, get involved in accidents that may even claim your life, get kidnapped and die gruesome death.

I ask, what's that special benefit do believers actually get from their so call relationships with god

In my personal life, especially medically and financially, I have experienced occurrences (after prayers) that convinced me beyond a doubt that they were responses to those prayers from an entity other than myself. These could not be explained by coincidence. In my heart, I believe that was/is GOD. I believe the advantage for believers in GOD is that opportunity/ability/permission to reach out to this DEITY (called Grace by the Bible) in times of trouble. No one can prove GOD exists, at least for now. It's a matter of faith or belief.
