President Buhari charged the members comprising of expertise and representation to give their utmost commitment towards ensuring standards of transparency and accountability in the execution of the ogoni land clean-up exercise.

The President says:
"This is a very important endeavour that has direct impact on the lives and livelihood of our brothers and sisters whose environment has been severely degraded by years of unchecked pollution from oil exploration activities "

The clean up exercise is expected to go on for 20 years with the first 5 years to addressing emergency response measures while the remaining years will look to restore the eco-system.

Senator Magnus Abe and other leaders of the region advised the communities to also take caution not to keep blowing pipelines since it it their own environment.

I know that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was the one who laid the foundation and also started this project but could not finish it up. But it is normal thing in Nigeria for one government to start a project and for the next government to abandon the project, but since Buhari continued with it, I think both government have tried.
What I observed was that, atleast President Buhari should have Invited Goodluck Jonathan to the event because that would have gone a long way to gain respect from People. But PMB did not do that and it was commissioned as if PMB was the one that did it all.
Please I am not a fan of any Party but atleast if Buhari has done this, other Leaders would have learnt from it.

This is beautiful and I think the inside is much comfortable. The train is fast, unlike the olden days train.
