The State of Osun Ambulance Services (O’Ambulance) has disclosed that it rescued more than 2000 people in 2016 through its prompt rescue operations in emergencies across the state. In an end-of-the-year review of its activities submitted to the Bureau of Communication and Strategy in the Office of the Governor, the Director General of O’Ambulance, Dr. Akinloye, said the state ambulance service responded to more than 1116 road traffic accident emergencies across the state last year. Besides, O’Ambulance also responded to 178 cases of collapse, 348 hospital referral and 132 labour emergency cases all of which lives involved were saved, according to Dr. Akinloye. A statement released by the Bureau, signed by the Director, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon, quoted the D-G as stating that of 1,829 casualties involved in all the emergence cases, the agency was able to save 1,774 lives and recorded only 55 deaths arising from the cases. He also revealed that of the 1,774 casualties saved, 1,116 were males while 658 were females. He added that of the 55 deaths recorded, 27 were males and 28 females. The O’Ambulance Boss said the agency was able to record such significant figure of life saving due to the resources available to it. According to him, the government made available ambulances with relevant equipment, which makes rescue operation and immediate first aid for victim quick and efficient. He said, “We have two sets of ambulances. We have the small ones, which are 31 in number - one for each local government. They are stationed to serve the primary healthcare centres in the local government. “We have the big, high-tech ones. We have 17 of that and each is stationed along major routes especially where we do experience high rate of occurrence of road traffic accident. “We have our ambulances in strategic places so it is easy for us to move swiftly. Our response to any scene of accident wherever it happens in the state is between 10 to 15 minutes. Sometimes, it is faster than that especially if it is within Osogbo.” He noted that his agency responds to more than 200 emergences in a month arising from road traffic accidents, referral, labour cases and other health emergencies across the state. He stated that his agency usually faces more challenges during festive period and the ‘ember’ months, saying despite this uphill tasks, his agency always rise up to the occasion. He commended Governor Rauf Aregbesola for providing the logistics and other paramedical gadgets for the agency, saying the agency is more committed to saving lives of the people of Osun or those passing through the state. He continued, “In every month, we have average cases of 250 to 300 rescue operations. Sometimes it can be more than that, especially towards the end of the year (during December). “And like I told you, it can be more too during the festive period because of mass movement of people. You know there would be heavy human and vehicular movement. “Then the motorcyclists are another major challenge. At times, they form the bulk of our operations. You know that they are impatient and very reckless. So, they are always involved in one accident or the other, either with themselves or with vehicles. “We have the logistics. And with the support of Mr. Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, things are going on smoothly and we are working. We are in the business of ‘life-saving,’ so we cannot but double our efforts to ensure we prevent avoidable deaths. “We guarantee safety of lives. We have saved many lives and we’ll continue to save lives. But the real beneficiaries, those we rescued, that would be able to tell you that people are safe in Osun. Some of these people pray for us when they are well again and they render assistance where they see us work because they know the importance of what we do – saving lives.”

The state government of Osun has requested for Expression of Interest for competent aggregators to activate market-driven agricultural value chain in the state. Recall Governor Rauf Aregbesola had two weeks ago travelled to Germany to seek partnership in the agricultural value chain. The Osun Agricultural Value Chain Activation initiative is an initiative of the state government to partner with competent aggregators to spur private sector-led and market-driven agricultural value chain development. It is designed to use the aggregator and out-grower model, in a way that is innovative, sustainable and scalable. Sharing boundaries with five (5) other south western states, Osun is strategically located to be the center of trade and commerce for agriculture and other commodities. More so, the state enjoys favourable climate, fast-growing economy, 70% agrarian population, and a vision to be the Mid-Regional Hub for agriculture and agro-allied products. The vision is to facilitate the activation of a minimum of 10 market-driven value chains that will empower 50,000 sustainable smallholder farmers/MSME, increase income and create jobs for 300,000 people using the aggregator and out-grower model. A statement signed by the Project and Economic Team (PET) in the Governor’s office, states that selected aggregators will identify and establish sustainable and competitive markets in any of the Plantain, Rice, Cassava, Yam, Maize, Tomatoes, Soybeans, Cocoa, Rice, Oil Palm, Poultry, Aquaculture, Small Ruminant, Goats, Piggery, and forestry value chains. The aggregators will secure sustainable market linkage and organise Osun Small businesses to produce in commercial quantities. The initiative will connect competent aggregators to qualifying small businesses leveraging on the abundance of MSME funds at the National and Sub-Nation levels to support small businesses. The initiative will also partner relevant financial and development institutions. Read more here: http://osun.gov.ng/2017/01/30/osun-advertises-request-expression-interest-competent-aggregators-4/

The general belief that people suffering from mental imbalance cannot be completely healed has been proved to be a fallacy with the complete cure and rehabilitation of over 160 vagrant psychotics under the O’Rehab scheme. YEJIDE GBENGA-OGUNDARE writes on the life at the rehabilitation centre in Ilobu, Osun State and the new life of inmates that graduate after being cured. A popular mentally imbalanced man known as Baba Sogo in Ile Ife had been on the streets due to psychotic disorder for 30 years before he was taken off the streets for treatment and rehabilitation. Today, he has been integrated into the society and is living a new life. On the night of December 24, 2016, the governor of the Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola on his way from the Iwude festival in Ilesa, noticed a young woman who had mental disorder and a broken leg and had been roaming the streets at Isona community. He instructed that she be taken her off the streets that night and given proper care. Today, the lady had regained her senses. And though she’s still on admission at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital in Osogbo, she conversed intelligently with Nigerian Tribune and the search for her family is on so she can be handed over to them after rehabilitation to prevent a relapse. 62-year-old Fatunmise (last name withheld), a graduate of political science with second class upper was retrieved from the streets of Ile Ife in August 2012, after being psychotic for 11 years. He was admitted to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital under the O Rehab scheme and discharged in March 2013 after which he was re-united with his family. 64 years old Madam Funmilayo (last name withheld), was equally psychotic for seven years after being deported from the United States of America. She was a common feature along Okefia in Osogbo where she was retrieved and treated at the General Hospital, Asubiaro on November 7, 2013 and discharged in May 2014. These are few of the over 160 pyschotic vagrants that were given a new lease of life by the O’Rehab Scheme, an initiative of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the governor of the state of Osun. The scheme started in November 2011 as a project under the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Special needs under the supervision of Comrade Biyi Odunlade. The team works in professional partnership with a special psychotic treatment foundation – Care and Foundation for Mentally Ill Persons (Caremi foundation), founded by Professor Rogers Makanjuola, though funding for O Rehab is solely by the state government. According to Odunlade, some of the destitute are repatriated mainly from Lagos and other states as 90 per cent of psychotic patients treated under the scheme were dumped in the state or they trekked down from other states, adding that treatment takes an average of six weeks before rehabilitation and reintegration into the society while they still undergo medical checkups for a while to forestall a relapse. “When we are informed that there’s a case somewhere, we go and take the person off the streets after which they are taken for treatment in the hospital then sent to the rehabilitation center to acquire vocational training and given startup capital before reintegration into the society through their families. “The government spends between N250, 000 to N300, 000 for the treatment of individual patients and an additional N100, 000 to N200, 000 when they are graduating from the rehab center as startup capital,” Odunlade stated. He however confirmed that there are rare cases of relapse after treatment, adding that the rate is not up to one per cent of patients treated under the scheme, stating that only three of the over 160 people treated experienced relapse which were triggered by further emotional trauma after they were handed over to their families. The three cases he said include that of a 35-year-old female civil servant named Biodun that was rehabilitated by the scheme after suffering mental breakdown for seven years and handed over to her brother in 2015; she suffered a relapse and was taken back for treatment. Another case is that of 39 years old Kikelomo, an unemployed Ordinary National Diploma certificate holder that was picked in Osogbo after five years on the streets and handed over to her mother but was taken back after relapse and Sakirat, a 32-year-old tailor that was psychotic for nine years before being handed over to her mother and is presently being monitored by the scheme after a relapse. The Ilobu rehab center of the scheme trains healed patients on diverse vocational skills like soap making, bead making, tailoring, hair dressing and various crafts after they would have been treated at one of the five hospitals used by the scheme; Ladoke Akintola University of Technology teaching hospital, Obafemi Awolowo University teaching hospital, Yaba Psychiatric Hospital, Aro Psychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta and Government Hospital, Asubiaro, depending on the nature of the psychiatric disorder . Odunlade, however, stressed that most mentally imbalanced people are merely suffering from a form of trauma and most times only require love, attention and counseling with medication and supervision, adding that chaining them or beating them as is done in traditional healing homes will only aggravate their situation. A relative of one of the rehabilitated patients who spoke to Nigerian Tribune on the condition of anonymity stated that her brother’s case was immediately taken over before his condition worsened. “We do not have a history of mental disorder in my family, but on January 14, 2016, we learnt Abayomi who works for the government mentally broke down while at work but luckily for us, his colleagues quickly called operators of the scheme and he was taken from work to OAU. He was discharged on February 19, 2016. “After his discharge, he was handed over to our elder brother and a director in his ministry. He has since gone back to work and has not suffered any disorder or relapse. In fact, we used to monitor him a lot but we were told by the rehab people to treat him like we normally do and we are sure that he is completely okay,” she said. Speaking further, Odunlade stated that “Our process is hinged on what we call the four Rs: retrieval, rehabilitation, repatriation and re-integration. We have a chain of persons that go to the streets to pickup psychotic vagrants using technical strategies, this is called retrieval. You see, not everyone you see on the streets wearing tattered or dirty clothes are deranged. Our focus is on vagrant psychotics; these are people with schizophrenia, depression or any kind of disorder and distortion in relationship or dressing. These people do not have homes; they just go about and constitute diverse forms of threat to humanity. So we go after them and pick them up then decide which hospital best suits their needs out of the hospitals we partner with – LAUTECH, OAU, Yaba, Aro and our state hospital in Osogbo where we employed a consultant psychiatrist specifically for the scheme to set up a psychiatric clinic in the hospital. “The next thing is treatment which we call rehabilitation. During treatment, we start looking for family members of the affected patient, we call this home tracing because when they are well, we ensure they are handed over to a close family member. “Aside the case in LAUTECH, we presently have the case of a 29-year-old female lawyer who after law school and service, developed a mental challenge and we picked her up, it was during rehabilitation that we discovered that she is the daughter of a renowned person in the society but we can’t mention names. The father showed up and said it was when her trouble became too enormous and she became a threat to them that he abandoned her to her helpless mother who took her to churches where she was chained and which aggravated her condition. The moment you manacle, chain or beat someone with disorders as is done in traditional healing homes, their situation becomes worse.” Odunlade, however, cited some of the challenges of the scheme. According to him, “We have different kinds of constraints. The programme started from a point of disbelief with people expressing doubt that anyone could be completely healed. The second challenge is stigmatisation. This stigmatisation and disbelief have pervaded the system and is a problem but there’s a need to re-orientate people about this. The third challenge which affects every aspect of the programme is paucity of funds. To treat an average person costs the government between N250, 000 to N300, 000 and can be more. If the government uses this to treat one person, you can multiply it by how many people we have treated to know how much has been pumped into this setup over time and no hospital admits any psychotic patient without down payment or discharges them without full payment.”

Much has been written about the role technology played in bringing social and political change across much of Africa, but less is known about the technological revolution that is taking place and transforming people’s lives in the State of Osun, Nigeria. This deep and rapid mobile penetration is catapulting the State of Osun school children into the 21st century and bringing new and previously unimagined opportunities. African schools and universities are now exploring the use of mobile technology to assist teaching. Whether critics like it or not, Governor Aregbesola has laid the foundation and remains the pioneer of digital education in Nigeria and he represents an agent of change as far as digital education is concerned in Nigeria. The history of Digital Education will remember Governor Aregbesola as the first Nigerian to implement the UNESCO recommendation on digital education. Nigerians need to visit Osun Sukuk Schools, Middle Schools and Elementary Schools. Governor Aregbesola has undertaken to build and equip schools with computer classrooms and training teachers to use digital media in education. In this line, Opon Imo “local content’’ in digital education has allowed teachers to use tablets to teach students. In the history of Nigeria, Governor Aregbesola will be remembered as the first leader to introduce digital education. Like India, the State of Osun is working to improve on Opon Imo. In years to come, Governor Aregbesola will be remembered as a pioneer of digital education in Nigeria. About 33 states in Nigeria are presently working on how to introduce digital education by using Osun model of Opon Imo. Opon-Imo, is indeed the first digital education revolution in Nigeria. Through Opon-Imo books, libraries, virtual laboratories and study materials of Osun schools are introduced and made available to students. Governor Aregbesola promised that there would be no need of students buying books and other study materials. The tablet of knowledge, indeed, served that purpose. The way secondary school students operate and interact with each other has drastically changed with the advent of OPON IMO, the first digital education revolution in Nigeria. Over the years, the impact of technology has been profound, not just in terms of making our lives easier, but also in terms of our approach to the way we carry out tasks, solve problems and resolve issues. There is no doubt that Governor Aregbesola understands the role that technology can play in realising the vision for Nigeria’s growth – it is at the core of the Opon Imo and a key driver across all plans devised by the State Government of Osun over the last six years. The government recognizes the transformative power of technology and sees it as an enabler for the change that we all seek – be it in delivering better citizen services, digitising education records, efficient and productive functioning, or using technology to provide a new social security platform Until recently many students in Osun had never touched a tablet computer. But it took them about “one minute to work out how to use one when such devices arrived at Osun schools. Osun students were no slower to embrace the new tool. Teaching used to be conducted with a blackboard and a handful of tattered textbooks. Now children swipe the touch screen of the devices, which are loaded with a multimedia version of Nigeria’s syllabus. The prospect of many of Africa’s 300m pupils that want digital education has not escaped the attention of global technology giants either. A bigger question is whether digital tools will actually improve education. Early results are encouraging. In Osun, reading skills improved measurably among school children. In Osun, researchers found that even in the absence of teachers, children figured out how to use tablets provided to them by the State Government, to teach themselves to read. As we transit towards knowledge driven economies, the need to build human capacity to gain competitive advantage has become a front burner issue for developed and developing nations. This situation is seen as more critical for developing nations which hold the majority of the world’s uneducated and have suffered decades of education infrastructure neglect. To reverse this situation, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) timelines, developing nations will need more than orthodox initiatives to bridge the huge learning gap. The use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) appears to be one of such promising innovative means of democratising access and improving the quality of learning. The State Government of Osun, under the leadership of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, in its resolve to champion inspiring innovations for Africa, has undertaken a ground breaking step to utilise ICTs to concisely tackle the learning problem through the Opón Ìmò Initiative. The State, through its Opón Ìmò Technology Enhanced Learning System (OTELS), has developed a learning tool that could revolutionize learning in developing states around the world. This tool is called the Opón Ìmò, “Tablet of Knowledge”. The digital revolution has hit education, with more and more classrooms plugged into the whole wired world. But are schools making the most of new technologies? Are they tapping into the learning potential of today’s Firefox/Facebook/cell phone generation? Have schools fallen through the crack of the digital divide? This groundbreaking tool offers a vision for the future of the State of Osun's education that goes well beyond the walls of the classroom to include distance learning with “anytime, anywhere” access, digital home schooling models. Opon-Imo (Tablet of Knowledge), an e-learning device which solved educational needs of Senior Secondary School students of Osun State, introduced by Governor Rauf Aregbesola, have become one of the biggest known digital initiative in Osun’s educational history and Nigeria. Opon Imo has solve the educational needs of the state and cut cost in the sector as promised by Aregbesola upon its inauguration, the project has solved the major educational problems of the state, leaving with it huge progress that the state had battled with for a long time. On Tuesday June 4, 2013, Governor Aregbesola, in a speech entitled, ‘Opon-Imo Enters the Stage’ had told the people of Osun, “It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all and to be here myself for this epoch-making event in the annals of this state…Today in the State of Osun, we are taking another momentous leap forward in our unflinching and unstoppable effort to lay a solid foundation for the education of our children. “The much-awaited Opon-Imo has finally arrived. The smart computer tablet has entered the education scene, to the glory of Almighty God, and to the victory of the public school students of Osun, but to the utter bewilderment of ill-meaning cynics, whose ardent wish is for the project to fail. Unfortunately for them, God has a different plan for Osun and for its good people.” “This initiative, the first of its kind anywhere in the world, covers 17 core subjects with over five extra curricula subjects for senior secondary 1, 2 and 3 levels. The tablet contains over 56 textbooks, 900 minutes of virtual classroom lessons and 1000s (Thousands) of practice questions for WAEC and JAMB. In addition to aiding preparation for School Leaving Examinations, the introduction of the tool is expected to aid adoption of information communication technology (ICT) skills among students in the state,” The typical Osun classroom like Indian classroom was once characterized by students sitting through hour-long teacher monologues. Now, technology is making life easier for both students and educators. Schools are increasingly adopting digital teaching solutions to engage with a generation of pupils well-versed with the likes of tablets and iPads, and trying to make the classroom environment more inclusive and participatory. Governor Aregbesola has observed that in line with Osun’s increasing interest in technology for school education, there has been a rush of education-focused tablet computers in the market. It aims to eliminate digital illiteracy by distributing the Opon Imo tablets to students across Osun at free rates. While the project itself has become successful, it has generated a lot of awareness and interest among students around the educational tablet. Aregbesola had observed “Digital learning facilitated through tablets will revolutionize the educational space,” He has invested in developing content and services targeted toward tablet audiences. To start with, he offered Osun school curriculum-learning modules, and at home live products on the opon imo. Students can now have access to good teachers, educational content and a great learning experience anytime, anywhere.” But even as schools in Osun are going through this transformation powered by technology, one key question is how big a role technology will play in the education sector. Technology plays a critical role in all these. Despite numerous studies on the impact of ICT in education, the outcomes remain difficult to measure and open to much debate. It needs to be understood that technology is only an enabler and a force multiplier and cannot be treated as a panacea. We believe that impressive gains in teaching-learning outcomes are possible only through an integrated approach like Opon Imo intervention.

The oppositions in Osun should stop using the name of pensioners to erect camp in the State. They should come out openly and criticize positively. The pensioners numbering about 200, in conjunction with opposition members led by a retired judge in the state Judiciary, who erected a camp, have forgotten that in 2015, Osun committed a total of N5, 426, 720, 195. 68 to pay pensions in spite of the very difficult financial stress the state found itself. In 2016, the state also committed a total of N3, 981, 312, 918.78 to payment of pensions. However, my joy is that over 3,000 Members of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) in Osun State under the aegis of Triangular Group of Pensioners have lauded the state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola for paying the arrears of their pension up to December 2016. The pensioners staged a peaceful procession in Osogbo, the state capital at the weekend to demonstrate their supports to Aregbesola’s administration and assured the governor of their unalloyed loyalty. The NUP Chairman, Prince Rotimi Adelugba said the pensioners were grateful to Aregbesola for his magnanimity and cautioned other retired civil servants in the state not to play dirty politics with the issue of the payment of the pension by the state government. He said “The state government set up a committee headed by a veteran labour leader and former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Hassan Sumonu to fine-tune the issue of salary and pension payment in the state and suggest the best approach to the salary and pension issues in the state”. “The committee comprised leaders of labour unions in the state and after a comprehensive analysis of the financial situation of the state, the committee proffered a way forward and we all saw reasons to accept the recommendation of the committee in the best interest of the generality of the workers, pensioners and the good people of our dear state”. “We all agree that the state government should not downsize because we didn’t want any worker in the state to be sacked. Therefore, the only option we had was to agree with the modulated salary scheme in which the junior officers from level 01 to level 07 would get their full salary but the senior staff from level 08 and above would be earning half of their salary and the same thing applicable to the pensioners”. “It was agreed that the modulated salary would be revisited once the economy of the state improves and that was exactly what Governor Aregbesola did recently when the modulated salary scheme was reviewed upward. The governor has never reneged in this arrangement but some retirees allowed politicians to use them to embarrass the state and that was unfortunate”. “Though, we also need the money but we realised that we must show understanding since we also know the financial status of Osun State government. The state government has paid up our pension up till December 2016. We are aware that the payment of pension gulp N9.4 from the coffers of the state government and this is commendable”. He said the retirees in the state want more from the state government and urged the governor to sustain the payment of their monthly pension. He also urged the governor to create special units in all state hospital where senior citizens including the pensioners would be attended to when they need medical attention. “We also commend our dear governor Aregbesola for his love for the workers and the pensioners in the state. The governor paid the backlog of the arrears of 142 per-cent of pension increase to eligible pensioners. We are grateful to Governor Aregbesola for jacking up the monthly pension bill from N200 million to 600 million”, the NUP chairman said. The retirees terminated the procession at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park and held special prayers in Islamic and Christianity ways. They offered prayers for Osun State and Nigeria and sought the intervention of God on the economic recession that has bedevilled the nation in which Osun state was not exempted. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Rauf Aregbesola who was invited to the venue by the pensioners as a special guest expressed delight that a huge number of retirees in the state acknowledged his commitment to their welfare and assured them that the New Year would be better than last year. The governor said “we implemented 142 per cent increase in pension which other rich and buoyant states including Lagos has not implemented. No state government has paid as much as we have paid pensioners in Osun. I paid 9.5 billion to pensioners alone.” Our various governments (past and present) in this country are not wicked and selfish, within the limit of the available resources they have paid gratuities and pension arrears in bulk and some in installments that would help pensioners to build or buy their own houses with their pension arrears paid. Aregbesola has paid Osun pensioners gratuities and pension arrears that, by the grace of God, were still alive to collect and enjoy their pension arrears which may enable them to own their own houses in their life time after working for many years without being able to build houses of their own! In short, Aregbesola’s sensible position was that payment of arrears of pensions and gratuities should never be staggered. The reasonable thing Aregbesola has done is the payment to the pensioners, a lump sum of the arrears of their pensions and most delayed gratuities at once. As Christmas and the New Year festivities were fast approaching, Osun workers and pensioners had prepared to face the gloom of unpaid salaries and pensions, but in December 2016, thanks to the Paris Club refund that enabled the government clear salary and pension arrears according to agreement, Osun Pensioners enjoyed themselves to no limit with their families It was based on this that, the group of pensioners, Triangular Pensioners Forum led by Mr. Rotimi Adelugba, organised a big party to thank the governor for paying the pensions and gratuities of retirees in the state. Adelugba said at the event, attended by Aregbesola, that the governor had paid a total sum of N9.4bn as pensions and gratuities. He urged members of the public to ignore the ‘propaganda’ of those trying to discredit the governor.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola has led a delegation to Germany in search of new insights on modern agriculture in order to further realise the dream of making Osun the food basket of the South West. This, the administration believes will help empower citizens and improve the quality of life for residents in the state. On Saturday, the Ogbeni-led delegation stopped at Lindau, in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld, Germany. Ogbeni Aregbesola, came with series of questions about modern agriculture, hoping for new insights from German farmers like Arnold de Vries who the Governor visited on his sheep farm. Arnold de Vries had taken-in two interns from Osun State for training on his farm in the summer of 2016. Osun, is an agricultural state and significantly larger than Saxony-Anhalt, but modern agriculture is still a long shot and the Governor's team is ambitious to close the gap. That is why the project "Support for Capacity Building in Food Production" was launched in 2012 between States of Saxony-Anhalt in Germany and Osun in Nigeria, for youths of the state to undergo internships in modern agricultural enterprises in Saxony-Anhalt. Well over 40 Nigerians from the state of Osun have already benefited from this scheme. This was confirmed by Ogbeni Aregbesola during his visit to Bauer de Vries in Lindau. "We have to feed our population somehow, and effective agriculture, as it is done here in Germany, can help us," he says. His visit to Saxony-Anhalt is a kind of educational trip. However, the trip is also intended to thank the farmers who took interns in for hands-on training. The administration has invested heavily in laying the foundations for modern agriculture in the state, and lies in wait for bountiful harvest. Recall that Ogbeni Aregbesola recently ordered the planting of 5 million plantain suckers in the state of Osun as a means of providing food for the citizenry. Governor Rauf Aregbesola was accompanied by Speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Saleem, amongst other top government officials.

Here are some pictures of the schools that have been built by the Osun State Government under the administration of Gov. Rauf Aregbesola. The "Ogbeni"(as he is fondly called) is really doing a great job and the people of Osun also commends him for this. I heard Education had greatly improved in Osun but didn't believe till i saw with my own eyes. This is one of the new schools built. The name of this school is Ansarudeen Govt Elementary School. You can see the clear difference between the old and the new. Truth is, any child with a good elementary school foundation will have no problem making progress educationally. The new school house 900 pupils who learn in a serene environment. The school is equipped with modern toilets, fully furnished IT room, a playground better than most private schools in the state (in fact, I bet no private primary school is as equipped as the school... ). You can tell me if you know anyA school bus that convey the pupils daily amongst others. Osun State has greatly changed and i commend the Governor, Rauf Aregbesola for his great strides even with the financial issues from the country.
