Check ur mailbox from your phone. The one you registered on NL with. You won't get notified of a mail on NL again if I send you a mail. If someone else sends you for the first time from here you'll be notified.

Its quite easy, go to the person's profile. Before the persons pic u'll see something like "send this member an e-mail" click. You might not be able to type anything, just click send and wait for a reply.
