I've been following this thread with interest. Based on what everyone's shared, here's my take:

If you can afford the upfront cost → Go inverter (especially if NEPA is stable in your area)
If budget is tight → Non-inverter works, just budget for higher bills

The key is making sure whatever you buy is properly sized for your room. An oversized AC (inverter or not) will waste energy and money.
