To be fare to these guys, their salaries aren’t enough to take care of the demand and needs of their constituents. You need to see how people queue up in front of their gates whenever they go back to their constituency with various forms of monetary demands. Mind you the more hardship the members of their constituency face, the more demand they will be exposed to. These guys make more money based on the committees they head or belong to. Anyways that doesn’t mean their salaries should be increased though because that will be immoral.

Government offices in Anambra were spending N137 million each month to clean public offices until recently, when the current government took immediate steps to drastically reduce the cost of cleaning, People’s Gazette reports.

Governor Charles Soludo revealed the huge amount of money that went into the cleaning. “We need to be sensitive and move with the times. We need to live within the average of the people we’re governing and knock off the wastes and irrelevances,” stated Mr Soludo.

The Anambra governor disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the National Economic Council meeting, chaired by Vice-President Kashim Shettima, on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He said when he assumed office, it was costing about N137 million every month to clean up public offices, among other things. “Today, in Anambra, we’re doing N11 million a month from N137 million. This is just an illustration. And it’s a thing that we’re persuading each and every one of us to look into, check into our books and look ourselves in the mirror and move with the times,” Mr Soludo explained.

Regarding the hardship brought about by the removal of the petrol subsidy and the attendant pump price hike, the Anambra governor said the council considered the possibility of negotiating a new minimum wage through the appropriate structures.

Verified Twitter users are finally getting paid for their posts online with one popular profile already paid $100,000 (£76,275).

Elon Musk's platform will now 'help people earn a living directly on Twitter' as it announced plans to kickstart monetisation features just last night.
This scheme is only available to notable Twitter Blue subscribers, as creators will need to prove they received at least five million impressions on posts in the last three months.

The platform explains that the impressions are a total tally of times a tweet has been viewed, and funds to support those who fit the bill will be sourced from Twitter's advert revenue.

It comes just a week after rival Meta, run by Mark Zuckerberg, released a similar platform called Threads, which has since had more than 100 million new sign-ups.

'We’re expanding our creator monetization offering to include ads revenue sharing for creators,' Twitter wrote last night.

'This means that creators can get a share in ad revenue, starting in the replies to their posts. This is part of our effort to help people earn a living directly on Twitter.

'We're rolling out the program more broadly later this month and all eligible creators will be able to apply.'

So far, some influencers have already received news of the funds they'll be receiving.
Cartoonist Shibetoshi Nakamoto shared a post which claimed that he's earned $37,050 (£28,259) which would be transferred to his account within the next 72 hours.

Others, such as author Ashley St. Clair and podcaster Benny Johnson appeared to have made $7,153 (£5,455) and $9,546 (£7,281) respectively.


Another person who described themselves as a 'self-taught brain surgeon' even claimed to have made $107,247 (£81,802) on his account.
