Politics / Re: Naira Slumps Against Dollar Amid Fuel Price Hike by jumper524(m): 5:19am On Sep 04
Trust me if fuel price gets to 1700naira per litre, the naira would still slump against the dollar.
Avoiding subsidy is the only way out of our declining economic crisis.
but then someone or something doesn't want our economy to have a positive slope.

Sports / Re: We Have Made Our Choice” – Napoli’s Sporting Director Breaks Silence On Osimhen’ by jumper524(m): 4:22pm On Sep 01
AfonjaMozlem:
Osimhen is losing nothing

He gets paid
Napoli won't win Serie A
He will play well for his country
A desperate top club will come for him in January because nobody doubts his quality

The problems here are human - transfer fee, salary, pride, stubbornness - from both parties.
osimhen has bigger wages from Saudi to loose,
Osimhen has his match fitness to loose,
Osimhen,
More new players would evolve making osimhen easy to forget.
Super eagles might stop calling osimhen,
His market value would also drop.

The Saudi deal was a better option if the Chelsea wages are less.

This is not the solution
I heard in a Barber's association meeting someone was making a suggestion dat since minimum wage is now 70k dey should also increase their service from 1500 to 3000.......
Just 15% of Nigerians are government workers, will average private school teachers also receive 70k? Then d owner will increase school fee to 100k per term.....
Reduce fuel price to 300/L and see magic.....
the price of all these facilities increased without a new minimum wage.
And yes they've been struggling with lack of customers, increasing the wage creat some level of stability.

I don't understand the reason for this high-handedness and suppression of the ongoing protest from the government

If your government is doing well, nobody will protest against you, Tinubu is becoming too tyrannical, he's insensitive to the plights of the nigerian people

Our constitution provides for fundamental rights which are inalienable rights.
the reason for the high handedness is because they were already becoming a liability to the average Nigerian.
from looting of govt properties to looting of private properties to disenfranchising private citizens their free movement and also to halting economic growth for too long.
banks are not opening.
so except a govt is incompetent, hell bother more on the right to steal than the right to live.

I can't believe someone would comment "good initiative" to this considering the economic mishap the country and citizens are currently embroiled in.

Imagine having to pay #2,500 per charge that'd last a day multiplied by 20 days.

I'm just so short of words to describe the kind of humans we have in every elective and appointed offices in this British company.
in saner climes it's more expensive that's why they have more money to develop facilities that's helping their economy.

That's exactly the case of Nigeria
we've always suffered, that's what buhari said and Tinubu is heading same path.
Some path of me thinks foreign mechineries are at work here.
The rate at which our currency was devalued is beyond my thinking.
Politics / Political Economist Please Get In Here. by jumper524(m): 4:24pm On Jul 30
Please let keep this less political and more logical.

I'll start.
Early 2015 it was as though the country is going bankrupt and needed to cut off subsidy so as to be able to sustain the incoming bankruptcy nearing the govt.
Then the FG under president Buhari removed subsidy.
This move according to economist would end smuggling, save the govt unnecessary waste and give the naira stronger value while the masses bears the grunt.

But then the reverse became the case, the masses beared the grunt, the naira instead lost its value by 100% and subsidy was being paid quietly until it was exposed.
Now same trigonometry repeated itself under president Tinubu.
Removed subsidy to save the naira, floated the naira to discourage corruption and just like president Buhari.
He failed again...

Funny enough the public economist giving these advices have all gone numb.
Sanusi lamido even criticiseded president Tinubu when the effect of these policy started biting.

Nigeria is now becoming a 2 edged sword where every policy would always have a negative edge on the masses.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Pictures Of The Children Who Were Killed In The Attack By Hezbollah Hours Ago. by jumper524(m): 8:02pm On Jul 28
Botragelad:

Let me set the record straight. Israel typically warns civilians of impending strikes by distributing leaflets and designating safe zones. The targeted location was a known terrorist hideout.

The real question is, why does Hamas use children as human shields for their nefarious activities? Why do they launch rockets from schools? I expect rational individuals to think critically. Israel's strike targeted Hamas, but they cynically exploit children for propaganda. It was a legitimate military target!

Now, applying the same logic to Hezbollah's strike: did they issue warnings to Israel before attacking? How can a soccer field be considered a military target? Were there any IDF soldiers present? If you're going to target someone, target the soldiers, right? At least that's your greatest fear! Israel could have randomly targeted Lebanese civilians, but instead, they precision-target terrorists. Why doesn't Hezbollah do the same? It's clear that Israel is the only side following the rules, while terrorists deliberately target civilians. Wait for Israel's response. 🇮🇱
isrealis should leave isreal so Hezbollah won't destroy them.
That's the hypocrisy in your statement.
