Sorry over the situation, every disappointment is a blessing. Relax, you will surely overcome very soon and your dream of schooling in Germany must actualize by God's Grace.
I was equally affected by the winter 2017/2018 visa appointment trauma, but its all a thing of the past now.

My opinion: Why not choose some other courses that you are sure are done both in summer and winter semesters, or if possible, courses/schools that you can easily defer your admission to the next semester since this limited appointment slot is becoming a regular thing and its becoming tighter every semester.
Once u're in Germany, you can apply for your preferred course or switch over to it.

Just my opinion.

Please our gurus and ogas in the house, kindly advice in your own opinions.
Thanks @metabolite01
I wonder how you were able to quickly find a solution between then and now. your suggestion has given me some thought. I just have to find a course that wouldn’t veer way off my Civil Engineering area (courses in this area, tutored in English are too few with few intakes all in winter alone. Although you can find a lot in German language)so I can defend it well during the interview. But I also don’t know how to check if a program runs both in winter and summer.

Please our other gurus and ogas in the house, your advice in your own opinions is still needed.[/quote]

Hallo People,
Some of us here were hit by the “no more visa interview” plague last year. I in particular had just got admission notifications only to realize I could no longer book for 2017 interview. No recommendation was made by the embassy to overcome the trauma of losing a full year of planning and resources. Most importantly I want to try again but I still haven’t found a solution because all the schools I saw on DAAD offering Meng/MSc in Civil Engineering areas in English give admission notification in August and expect enrollment by October 1st. They also don’t have option of deferring to summer even as they are all in the winter semester. This doesn’t fit the Visa processing time at all. It seems the embassy theory is not in par with school theory. Almost like it was designed for German and EU citizens alone. The visa processing is a journey of its own but what if you don’t even get the chance to apply.

Some of the gurus here may have critical information to help. Coz man don Dey old for here. @justwise, @negro1986 and co, if I no mention your name you sef Na guru no vex. Abeg I won finish masters before I marry. I suppose hammer early.
Hey guys I would really appreciate some advice or views here. Especially from you guys that AM has dropped on.

With the 8700euro required by the authorities and your plan to work while studying u will be fine.

Expenses here depends on alot of factor e.g Location of the school, lifestyle etc...
You give me hope. I want to believe the conversion of this figure would be at the regular conversion rate and not parallel or black market.

Germany is 100X better than those countries u made mention. Remember in Canada, after paying tuition fees of maybe 8-10k$CAD u still have to show proof of living expenses of 10k$CAD coupled upon the fact that you could be denied visa while applying. Please tell me if German bank or the embassy would tell u the €8000 u re to pay is meant for them or you. Try and be considerate a bit and if deutsch policies don't seem reasonable to you why not try ur so called UK,US and Canada after years of being denied and spending your hand earned naira. Next pls
If the German bank or embassy tells me the E8700 is for me, then I don't have any problem. I'd do a good economical job - pay for only basic necessities.

You do well blackbriar. I just wish I could get a link or something to educate me more on these figures. Coz I saw info that it would be enough but I also need a sponsor or company with at least N10m. I just hope the N10m is only for proof and not for use.

Hello Nigermans,
I intend to apply for a M.Eng/M.Sc Civil Engineering admission at a couple of German universities. I should have applied earlier but have been trying to save up to N8m to avoid stories that touch. So far I have about N4m. I know the German university search sites recommend a total of about E8000 for a year bla bla bla undecided. But as an original Naija guy wey know wetin him dey find, I'm not interested in flamboyance and excesses. I wish to cut all unnecessary spending. So, I need to know if I can make do with N4m for four semesters (for all expense) otherwise what figure can I consider. of course I intend to work while studying. I also need to know what amount the authorities want to see as financial capacity proof. Abeg make una epp a brother.
