Pls I have COS as a care assistant in the uk, since the law does not permit dependant on my own visa (my husband and kids are here on student visa but we do not qualify for post study). My husband has a job in Nigeria, so he is ok to go back to Nigeria for a while and can be on a visitor visa, but how can my kids stay here with me in the uk please, any help will be well appreciated 🙏🏽

please throw more light on this, why was your husband not qualified for that.. if you can share more light on this then we can know how to come in.

I'm afraid they don't qualify. Why would you want to settle for PGD?

One of the exceptions is if your profession (course) falls under the reserved activities that is regulated by UK law.

Thank you. Not that he wants to settle, but he has 2 resits due to plagiarism which means he won’t be able to finish by sept this year (he came in last year sept). So to do his capstone, he will need a visa extension but the issue is, someone said he may be the only person that will be given the extension since no dependants are allowed as from this year, so his family may not be able to cross to PSW visa after the extension.
The dependants are here already, and we hope the wife will get COS, but we are looking at other options just in case COS doesn’t come out.

Please if a masters student decide to settle for PGD instead, do they qualify for PSW with their dependants?

Hi everyone,
I am a dependant and my husband is a student. Our visa expires in December 2024 (we came in last year sept) but my husband has 2 resits due to plagiarism which means he needs to extend his visa till next year so he can finish his capstone.
My question is, since his set is the last to come in with dependants, will it still be possible for us to cross to PSW visa after the extension? Or what is the best solution in this kind of situation please?
I hope to get a job with sponsorship, but just in case I am not able to get one, will the PSW visa still be available after expending the study visa please?
