Elxandre:Where in the quote did I mention all that? I have totally lost the zeal. Solomon and David? If you really read about them in the bible, you won't just mention them in that way. "The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem. "Vanity of vanities," says the Preacher, "Vanity of vanities! All is vanity." Ecc1:1-2. Those were the words of King Solomon who went on exile and changed his name to the Preacher. Actually I made just three points... All you did was misquote me. First one was... IT WAS A WASTE OF MONEY. My father was once like you, rode alot of extravagant cars in his time, but where are they now? Second one was... Either you r Good or Bad, if you make yourself a channel of blessings you will be richly blessed. Compare your life with an oil pipeline, it can never lack oil as long as it remains connected with its source. God do not give riches to people with selfish interests. Bill Gates onces said "I have no use for money, its God's work". Third point was... Riding extravagant cars in poor neighborhood, filling the eyes of onlookers with so much envy and lust, you are not different from an ancient Harlot who led men astray (i.e either they were killed or the live a life with no purpose). |
"This N28 million Macan was spotted in Lagos and the ride was absolutely awesome. Nigerians should be respected as we usually buy these vehicles cash down compared to our foreign counterparts who usually buy them on credit and pay over 4-5 years." Hahahaha....So hilarious. Laughing in Spanish. |
danielicon:You are right. We aren't like-minded. Trying to think like you but all that cross my mind are these questions? Does vehicle depreciate? Is it an asset? How will that feed me in the next 20 years? This is so comparable to a story where two hungry men were given 50 bags of Pearl millet seeds. One fed it to his family, friends and even beggars for a year (living the good life) while the other planted them and after 10years, fed the whole city, passing down his legacy from generations to generations. "Why do you spend money on what cannot nourish you and your wages on what does not satisfy you? Listen carefully to me: Eat what is good, and enjoy the best foods." Isaiah 55:2 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment. Tell them to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. 1 Timothy 6:17-18. Guess am too religious for you. Just do what your conscience says its right atleast thats what T.D. Jakes refers to as instinct (your perfect being). |
gypsey:Hmm... My brains falter because of my irrational thinking, interesting. Managed? After buying such car? You are still managing to help? Come on!! White people brought about christianity? Jesus Christ was a Jew (Isrealites are to caucasians as Africans are to Mongolians) Psalms 14:1 "The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good."....so do not say or believe in what you are not sure You are contradicting yourself. Anyways I did not castigate anyone's belief. I made a point backing it up with the only word of wisdom I know. "Is not wisdom found among the aged?" Job12:12a how much more do you think would be gotten from an ancient book? "For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect." Matt24:24. "For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive." Romans16:18 |
danielicon:First of all, I was totally irritated after seeing you regarded me as sir when clearly my name says Mary but I assume you were just being insultive so I take it lightheartedly. 28mill to buy a car? Is a waste of God's blessing. Helping the poor is not a must? Yet, you complain that Buhari is doing nothing and the masses are suffering. I don't know him and thats why I never made a comment to him directly... Only commented on someone's comment. Vanity upon vanity! All is vanity mydear. So says Solomon. Do I have to explain to you how blessed he was in his time. What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? Matt 16:26 Many men lose their souls by not giving up the pursuit of riches. Ambition and wealth become the ransom price of their lives. The desire to be rich and successful is the price, or cost of their lives. When dying on their beds, men who have chased riches all their lives have an empty life. If you are a Good Christian, you should know that the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's eyes 1cor3:19. |
Bolustic: Pistolx:No mydear, you seem to be the one who is lost in the sea of materialism. You probably will quote me and insult me in it but that will not stop me from telling the truth. You look like a true believer in your 2nd statement but the truth is that you actually only worship Christ because of your selfish wants. I want to ride the poshest cars, live in the biggest house, I want... I want...I want. And I go to church regularly to "fire" prayers. Honestly according to the bible God will not grant riches to those who have selfish needs but to those who are willing to use the riches for the works of God and bless people through it. By the way, rather than you all drooling over cars like that and letting the inventors and their related race mock/laugh at your intelligence and shallow minds while don't you all make use of your creativity and let's appreciate that instead. |
Is there no news again in this country? Why is this on fp? |

I am not talking about Presidential conference, I meant a form of press conference designed solely for the President and the people who are represented by various Local TV crews. And if government officials decides to be present then it will be like an icing on the cake for we the citizens. We need to know how the President is handling most of the country's economic issues. |
I don't get. I kept scrolling down to see a male barbie but I couldn't find it. Did anyone see one? Please show it to me, I'll love to see it. |
Don't get me wrong. I love the President's governance but we all know that PDP are doing all it takes to remove the President and they have the nation economic crisis to their advantage. This is why the President needs to hold a form of monthly presidential press conference where we the citizens can have a form of dialogue with the president through the press. In a representative government, citizens expect to see their leaders respond to questions from others. Reporters act as surrogates for the public. President Coolidge discussed with reporters why he held press conferences: "I regard it as rather necessary to the carrying on of our republican institution that the people should have a fairly accurate report of what the president is trying to do, and it is for that purpose, of course, that those intimate conferences are held." [September 14 1926] Press conferences give the public the best opportunity to see what presidents know (and don't know), what makes them angry, what makes them laugh, and what their brand of leadership is. Those are all points people want to see, not just read about. Beginning with President Kennedy's daytime and early evening press conferences fifty years ago January 25, people could tune in approximately twice a month and watch live press conferences. By 1960, 87% of the public had television sets so Kennedy came into most living rooms and offices around the country. These sessions were uncut and live—as opposed to the ones Eisenhower had that were kept for later broadcast where clips were used. With Kennedy, the public got to see him as he spoke. A Tennessee mother has been charged with fatally stabbing four of her children, whose ages range from 6 months to 4 years old, inside her Memphis-area apartment.Shanynthia Gardner, 29, was arrested and charged with four counts of murder and child abuse and neglect for the shocking crime after Shelby County deputies found the children’s bodies. All four had their throats slit, and sheriff’s deputies found a large butcher knife with what appeared to be blood on it in the apartment, according to court documents filed Saturday. A fifth child, Gardner’s 7-year-old son from a different father, Dallen, was able to escape the apartment and was spared from the attack, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Earle Farrell told the Daily News. “He was able to get out of the house unharmed,” Farrell said, and added that the family of Gardner’s husband, the boy’s stepfather, are caring for him after the tragedy. Deputies were called around 12:30 p.m. Friday to the Greens of Irene apartment complex in southeast Shelby County after someone saw Dallen screaming for help and yelling that his sister had been hurt, documents state. A witness who saw the boy run away also saw Gardner leave the apartment with a knife in her hand and then go back into her apartment, the local Fox station reported. “When I first got the call to dispatch, I thought someone had been wounded, and then it kept getting worse and worse and worse,” Farrell told the News, but did not know who the caller was. First responders arrived to the two-bedroom apartment and found Gardner inside with cuts to her wrist and neck. Deputies found two of the children dead in the living room and the other two in a bedroom, lying motionless on the ground. Detectives later identified the victims as Sahvi, 2; Sya; 3; Tallen, 4 and the youngest victim, Yahzi, was found dead in her baby carrier. She was just 6-months-old. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/tenn-mother-charged-fatal-stabbing-young-children-article-1.2696983

Firstly, greetings from me to you *on my knees, literally, as par my typical Yoruba heritage*. As the subject implies, this is a general discussion and very much open to individual opinions. "Discussion is an exchange of knowledge, argument an exchange of ignorance" Robert Quillen. I came across this article http://www.africafederation.net/Biafra_Nigeria.htm and felt I should write my opinion about it also. I am aware that this has been a matter of discussion & arguments for several years now and its nothing new. Am also aware that, just like many other conflicting issues in this country, nothing has really been done or said about it. Khadijah Muhammad wrote "We should learn from the plight of Sudan and Somalia. Sudan is divided but they are still fighting. Somalia has broken up in to fragments. We should not make the same mistakes. The masses should realize that the political class do not care for the people. If the country divides, only the power hungry political class will gain by becoming president of small countries. Then the tribes will naturally be having clashes for supremacy in their small localities. Let us not forget the intra-ethnic and intra-religious crises in Jos. It is high time the masses become selfish and put their lives ahead. We have sacrificed too much for a political class that is always engaged in numerous frauds and scam. If Nigeria fails some of our leaders will be the first to bail out. Their children are living abroad. They go for medical treatments abroad and they have properties." (http://www.naijastories.com/2012/05/reasons-why-nigeria-should-not-divide/). And if that is not enough to send chills down your spine then reading about Yugoslavia and Yugoslav wars should. It did for me anyways. Yugoslavia WAS a country in the southeast Europe during most of the 20th century. The country was made up of six republics which include the SR Bosnia and Herzegovina, SR Croatia, SR Macedonia, SR Montenegro, SR Slovenia and SR Serbia. The breakup of a Yugoslavia occurred as a result of series of political upheavals and conflicts during the early 1990s. After a period of political crisis in1980s, constituent republics of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia split apart, but the unsolved issues caused bitter interethnic Yugoslav wars. The Yugoslav wars lasted for 10years 8months (31march, 1991-12november,2001). The war started off in Croatia and then, most severely, in multiethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina. The wars left long-term economic and political damage in the region. Nigeria seem to be heading toward same fate (Mistakes are made so Lessons would be learnt). Surprisingly, One of the solutions to Nigeria's Political and Economical problems is to divide the country into smaller countries. But not without serious considerations especially settling conflicts between interethnic groups as well as the Religious crisis. If such issues are not tackled and all parties involved comes to a mutual understanding, dissolving Nigeria will be nothing but our own definition of World war II. Although, Czechoslovakia is an example of a country that peacefully divided into Slovakia and Czech Republic but lets not forget to consider the population of the former which was 15 million citizens, not even up to 10% of our population. ##The second solution is for Nigeria to be subdivided into separate republics with its own form of government system but still under a type of Union (maybe Nigeria Union NU or as unoriginal as United Nations/states of Nigeria). Anyways, this idea also has a major set backs if you consider the Yugoslavia's History. ##The third solution is to emulate most developed countries or even world powers Like USA, USSR, UK and even China... Many of this countries do not believe in existence as a small nations rather they "enlarge their coast" in order to become stronger. Political, economical, religious and ethnical issues or difference are tabled out in a form of "Intelligent Meetings" and solutions and amicable agreement are reached. (By intelligent meetings, I mean meetings where discussions not arguments take place). "Discussion is impossible with someone who claims not to seek the truth but already possess it" Romain Rolland. As usual my article is never complete without including Words from the Bible which is my only source of Wisdom. **** Titus 3:9-11 " "But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned." **** 1 Corin 1:10 "I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment." Though the message is for the church but as a true Christian, we should know that we are the Church. **** Proverbs 28:25 "The greedy stir up conflict, but those who trust in the Lord will prosper." **** Romans 16:17-18 "I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive." **** Luke 11:17 "But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls." **** Jude 1:16-19 "These are grumblers, malcontents, following their own sinful desires; they are loud-mouthed boasters, showing favoritism to gain advantage. But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit." **** Mark 3:24-26 "If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand, but is coming to an end." Thanks for having the patience to read this post and also with an open mind. *exits while singing "One Love Onyeka Onwenu"* *** Note: The population of Yugoslavia is 23.72million compared to Nigeria with 186.8million citizens. I sent this mail "I posted on the politics section yesterday day evening (Should Nigeria Be Divided Into Smaller Countries) but the post is nowhere to be found. Can I get it back? I really need MY article back." to them but am really becoming indifferent about it. Though I don't give up easily, I probly might overlook this if I do not get a reply but not without a conviction of this site's Incompetence. Mediapace: |
Mediapace:You guys sounds serious about this!! Did the mods actually delete it? |

Help! My post mysteriously disappeared! I posted a topic (Should Nigeria Really Be Divided Into Smaller Countries) yesterday evening on the politics section and I cant find it anymore. How is it possible that the number of my posted Topics is 5 and yet I cant find the fifth one. Its so sad. I would love to know what happened cause I feel cheated, highly cheated. |
johnydon22:Interestingly, thats your "Belief". Yu have not fully "thrown yours away" |
johnydon22:So what do you beliv? |
Pyrrho: |
verboten:True talk. Besids I beliv death is an easy get away. In d bible, we have stories where God actually suffers those he considers as enemy bt hardly to d point of death. I beliv that its best if your enemy is kept alive inorder to witness the wonders of God. |
sonOfLucifer:Buddhist, Hindian, Judaist, Baha'i, Wiccanist, Sikh, Taoist (my fav religion after Christianity), even Sango worshippers do not say "in Jesus name" yet they all pray. Like I said earlier, Prayer is just a form of spiritual communication. You pray when trying to communicate with Spiritual being more powerful than you. Satan who you seem to admire is of lower power compared to God. |
itstpia8:You got me raelly confused ![]() |
sonOfLucifer:Satan do pray, prayer is a form of communication between anyform of beings either spiritual or physical nd God. And def, even though he has been casted out of heaven he still prays. |
ApostleT:I dnt think he is capable of commiting such atrosity. I think some ministers think their life is a kind of battle and d only weapon dey need is prayer. The battle just happen to have no end. |
kadas01:When you encounter such prayer-points in church, what do you do instead? |
