Two major questions I ask myself are; Why is there so much hardship in the land with so many believers? Did not God promise wealth and prosperity to his people yet why is the land filled with poverty?
James 2:14-17-"what good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them "Go in peace, be warmed and filled" without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works is dead. " James 1:24-"religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the father, is this; to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and keep oneself unstained from the world." Hebrews 13:16-"do not neglect to do good and share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God." Welfare in most churches simply means giving out used clothes, shoes and other materialistic items to church members or believers who are considered beggars while acknowledging/praising those who had the most donations.
