Mortgage

Am I the only person that doesn’t like the idea of mortgage? Paying for a house for the next 30 yrs, I want to own the house immediately. What if I don’t feel like working for the next 30 years, or I want to stop working after 10 years? Because of mortgage I will na stay hooked.

It’s a mortgage not a blood oath. You don’t want to be locked in? Pay it off or sell the house and go back to renting. A mortgage system allows middle class families to own homes and property, it by far beats a system where only the wealthy can own property and the rest remain landless serfs

Politics / Re: Why Ibo Man Will Never Be President Of This Our Dear Corntree by Kalvan: 1:36am On Feb 17
Such an asinine post. As others have pointed out, where is the evidence of this collective industriousness in Igbo land? It doesn't exist.

Why?

Igbos are an individualistic people. There's nothing wrong with that (to a certain degree), but that doesn't make you a great partner when it comes to building up the collective. An igbo man will strike wealth, build a marvelous house in the village, but won't fix the roads that lead to said marvelous house because it's the government's responsibility and not theirs, and why should they fix something that will be used by others as well. They're not wrong, but it displays their thinking, which is only caring about themselves and not the larger community.

Even with your very long meaningless epistle, I can tell you something for free. IKWERRE WILL NEVER REGRET NOT BEING IN YOUR BIAFRA.

Igbo people were stealing Ikwerre people lands and allocating only to Igbos in perpetuity, immediately the British created and handed the defunct Eastern region to them. This intensified immediately Biafra was declared when they started to brazenly invade Ikwerre farmlands and declaring them as ‘biafraland’ because they had guns and others didn’t. Many of these invasions were led by some Igbos who had hitherto, lived in the communities and doing menial jobs for the indigenes. Today, the same people will be feeding their children with complete lies and half truths.

Ikwerre elites were killed and some incarcerated. Igbo people were renaming Ikwerre towns and villages using their control of government. 95% of the appointments were Igbos.

You think that making Ijaw to appear like Ikwerre enemy will make them want to become Igbo but it will not happen. Ikwerre along with the Ijaw and other minority ethnic groups in the defunct Eastern government had already started agitating to be seperated from Igbo people even before independence.

No one is going back to Golgotha!

This is the absolutely truth. The Ikwerre chiefs where I'm from were buried alive by Biafra soldiers. If Biafra succeeded we would have been made slaves to these people

This is one thing that fascinates me about groups like IPOB, MASOP in the Ken Saro Wiwa days. You pay lipservice to using violent means to upend the current order, rule of law, while at the same time expecting the same rule of law to save you when things go sour. You cannot serve two masters. Boko Haram are violent terrorists, but at least they're about that life. They don't expect the courts, international communities or NGOs to save them. It's either the actualization of their goals or their death.

Food for thought for the unruly among us

While you were struggling with primitive monarchy igbos have already evolved into advanced democracy. If monarchy is good why was it overthrow all over Europe? Only Britain still keep theirs for ceremonial purpose only. It's the backwards monarchist mentality that keeps Nigeria backwards

Fair. Throughout history up until 100-200 years ago, the men that made the history books were monarchs, warriors, conquerors. From Charlemagne to Napoleon. Alexander the Great to Louis XV.

My question should be who were the great Igbos from precolonial times? Names that show up in the history books, I couldn’t name one, so please assist me

Maybe my question should be were there any renowned precolonial Igbos that ended up in the history books? Statesmen, warriors, anyone?

Btw for the people citing the USA, the USA was once a colony pledged to the crown of King George III, and eventually George V before the heavy handedness of the crown with it’s taxation and other matters led to the revolt against the crown

Yorubas are very funny people and inherently self centered. Same Awolowo wanting to keep Lagos in the Western Region, supported the separation of Port Harcourt from then Eastern Region into the so-called region known as SS today.

Yorubas should understand the effects of politics of separation. Had Lagos been separated from Western Region, the owners of Lagos aka Aworis, will deny their Yoruba root, not because they don't want to be Yoruba but for political exigency and relevance. Federal government would have supported that like they do with former estaern Region territories, to keep them separated from Igbo and easy to control.

Same way Kwara was separated from Yorubaland and the Yoruba there as a unit, not individuals, do not identify as Yorubas. They identify as the Northerners. Same thing with Port Harcourt, a well know Igbo town, shies away from identifying with Igbo to stay relevant.

Port Harcourt is not an Igbo town. It's an Ikwerre city!

I've been perusing the various texts on the precolonial kingdoms that existed on what is called modern-day Nigeria, and I'm surprised to see there are no renowned Igbo monarchs. By renowned, I mean a ruler similar in stature to Oduduwa, Oba Oranmiyan, Alaafin Shango, Oba Ewuare of Benin, Sarki Abdullahi Burja of Kano, Sarki Yaji of Kano. Does anyone have any examples?

Please no tribalism

If am the president or chairman of Ohaneze Ndigbo, I will go ahead and fix the Igbo day celebration let them do their worse. The fight they are looking for, they will get it.

Being gentle don't pay in Nigeria, Igbos should learn when to fight back brutally to those that hates them so that next time they will know that Igbos are not their match and choose their fight wisely.

They're are lucky that they have boundry with calm Imo state, assume they have boundry with Anambra, anytime they want fight they will receive it.

Just avoid Crime and keep raking the money gradually. It may seem tough at the beginning, of which such is expected for any country but you must surely smile in the end. What I made in America in one year was more than what I made in Nigeria after 10 years of working in the Federal civil service. So pathetic Ogaaa.
I pray you recover from this mental distortion.

2 Things God will surely tell u to avoid in the U.S.

Finally......Avoid Bad Company and Crime.
Thereafter, watch yourself glow with pride...

Exactly, people come here and see the unmatched potential to gain prosperity, and lose their minds if they don’t have discipline. That lack of discipline sways them towards making fast money. Nothing that comes fast lasts, from gaining knowledge to love to wealth. Gradual, intentional accumulation always beats fast money grabs

More Goyim tax slaves .

This is the same situation in Canada if not worse.

But why anyone will see the JewK as a place to migrate to beats me .

Same Jewk that as late as the 60s the average Brit could only afford to take a hot bath once every two weeks .

If not for the 0koro coup of Jan 15 and the follow-up senseless 0koro instigated civil war that benefited British and Rothschild through war debt reparations, JewK would still have been a glorified serfdom.

In 1983, the Thatcher govt under the advice of the same instigator of the Nigerian civil war -Baron Victor Rothschild, backed a coup in Nigeria which saw the demon Buhari assume power and pay off all of Nigeria's civil war debt in one full swoop so as to bail the JewK out of an economic depression ochestrated by a spike in oil pricing. Fast forward to 2015, Buhari was brought back to finish Nigeria with more senseless debt to Jewish banksters so much so that the Jews in both London and Jew York own Nigeria.

Nigeria's case is so sad. A proud people who fell for Jewish tricks.

Business / Re: Bank Of America Urges Nigeria To Hike Interest Rate To 25.5% To Curb Inflation by Kalvan: 3:45pm On Jul 03, 2023
TheBillyonaire:
Increasing interest rates and tax rates due to inflation is basic, but at the moment, the inflation is not caused by excessive liquidity in the system so mopping up liquidity is not a good idea.

More people are not able to fill their car tanks, generators and those are indicators of rising cost of energy, that does not look like a country with supplusity of cash as a driving force on cost of living.

What Nigeria needs is developing and sustaining manufacturing and exporter capacities, massive construction drives and developing our tourism to keep currency flowing through people's hands.

So, BoA is called Bank of America and should focus on America.

This is the pov I’ve been searching the thread for. Hiking the interest rate is a useful tool when inflationary pressures are caused by excess liquidity, but Nigeria’s inflation is almost entirely caused by supply side disruptions.
