I graduated with a B.Eng in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering with a CGPA of 2.97 over 5(2.97/5)

I plan on going directly from B.Eng to PHD
Now my questions are

1)During WES conversion can I merit a GP of 3.0/4
2)in terms of writing GRE what's the maximum score should I be targeting

They marked it compulsory with asterisks

I thought that should come after admission has been offered?

For those that had visas approved recently, how long did it take before you were able to pick up your passport from DHL / you were notified of your passport availability for pickup?

The consular officer at Lagos told me at the end of the interview that it'd be ready for pickup in a week (which means today); but I didn't get a tracking ID, and upon visitation to the DHL office, I was told that they do not have it yet.




Note that I'm a returning student and my flight is scheduled for Feb 1, but looks like I'd have to cancel the flight, or at best, change the date, but I don't even know what timeline to work with.

I already got a date before my old i20 expired due to resumption date which was before the interview date , hence I had to ask my school for a new i20 after deferring for fall semester.

Trust you're having a great day.

I recently went for my US Visa Interview on the 17th January with an I-20 that had my program start date in the 13th January.
The interview went smooth, the VO did not have any issues with my responses to questions asked.
At the end of the interview I was given the white slip but it was recalled because of the start date of my program, she asked I send the embassy an updated I-20 via email which has a new start date, she gave me a form with the email address and some other information. She also mentioned that I do not need to book another Visa appointment interview, stating I just need to send the updated I-20 and instructions would be given on how to proceed with the Visa.

I have requestd for a deferal to Fall semester so the new I-20 can have an updated start date, I am still working on getting the new I-20 from the school and it's almost two weeks since my Interview.

Is there a deadline to send in the new I-20 form to the embassy?
If you have any similar experience or advice please share.

I just completed filling the appointment form F1 and visa fee paid. The payment reflected after two days and I wanted to book a date but current appointment date showing for Lagos is February 2026 but Abuja is showing May 2025.

Can I choose Abuja or I should wait to get an early day since I selected Lagos during the application process.

Exactly the same thing i experienced. Mine was on 10th of december 2024. My advise to you is to pay for a new mrv and book another appointment. During my own time, it was very fustrating.
The customer support i contacted told me to get a new mrv. I think they purposely do it. those people sabi fustrate person

I filled my DS160 last year August and I appeared for the interview in December which was denied in Lagos then I applied again with the same DS160 for April this year in Abuja.

I want to know could this cause an issue using the same DS160?

I paid my MRV fee at GTB on the old website. I was approved to schedule my f-1 visa but unfortunately I didn't get a date before the change to a new website. Now I am trying to register my payment receipt on Avits but it keeps showing receipt not found. Please does anyone have same issue and how did he/she solve.

Ceecee I think you have to pick a date first to be able to request for expedited appointment.. you won't be able to request for it until you have a date first.
Kamsy were you able to get any date at all? If I pick a date in Abuja will I be able to attend my interview in Lagos? Do you have an idea?
