Greetings Gurus.

Finally, it’s obvious no favorable date for interview and as the case maybe I have a problem and in need of Risky advice.

My early resumption Date is 3rd August 2025 and i have 22nd October 2025.

What should i do at this junction because i don’t want to start asking for a New form1-20 that will warrant submitting bank statements and waiting infact the session has start.


Do you advise i go for the interview the outcome will depend on if i defer or get an emergency arrival!!!

Please, I really need help. I keep seeing Abuja dates but I am unable to be booked. I have selected dates when available months comes up but still unable to book. This has been going on for days. Also, it is not network problem being that I experience it early hours of the morning too.

I dont know what could be wrong? Or If i am doing the right thing?

Also, I have refreshed the page severally and it is still the same thing.

Clicking reschedule menu is risky because i have no idea is the already booked appointment will be lost!

As for Ds160 do another Ds160 and raise ticket to change the old one….highest its done under 48hrs

This time around Nobody will give you options to chose which location is preferred because there are No date for both locations.

A new ATVIS profile wasn’t opened. I cancelled the appointment, raised a ticket to make my concern and that was the response.

The mail you earlier advised I send didn’t get any attention as I didn’t get response even till now, and it is on that basis you suggested cancellation of the appointment to start afresh.

The profile like I earlier mentioned is still the same and not a new one.

If anyone knows the way out of this, please help.

I arrived the embassy today for my interview only to see that my name was asterisk in red and I was denied interview and I was given a paper to go and update my ds 160 again as the barcodes don't tally and reschedule another appointment. At this point I am totally. I don't even know what to do again. I need help

Did they give you any slip indicating any instruction??

If yes, calm down.

If your resumption date is close Defer your admission because the Embassy will take A month and Plus more weeks to re-Active your profile to book another interview without paying Visa fee again.

My Advice is you wait for the embassy to reopen your account for you to rebook or reschedule.

I would not be approving your visa at this time.

Side note: I have a mild hearing loss, so I asked V.O to repeat the question several times and she looked pissed off by that, I didn't think it through to explain that medical condition it on both interviews.

Second Interview:

Just one question and I got refused.

What has changed since your last application?: I have been able to bring documentation to support my funding, and before I could explain she cut me short, with "but I can see that already in your I-20". That was the end of the interview.

I still have the funding, but I'm very nervous about my next interview, I intended to apply to Abuja, what can I genuinely do to improve my chances, how best can I explain my story? What general advice do you have for me?

If you are extremely observant you can tell the reason they denied your first visa.

My first experience i was asked the question twice making me to understand the reason i was denied

@prettyslim or any student looking for an appointment at the U.S embassy there is currently April, 2026. Such person should be wise and pick Abuja first then use the auto-qualified expedite request to seek for a closer date b4 resumption.

@MrAtanda only DHL & OIS are working or associated with the U.S embassy in terms of delivery/pick up. 👍

I dont think this news is applicable to Nigerians for now. The information stated that only countries suspended or limited which started on the 9th of june. The pfficer clearly stated that in her message. Nigeria just joined those under review in a new review statement which was released yesterday. Not yet banned or suspended. So been under review doesnt affect your appointment bookings.

I know a lot of people are going about their daily lives, but I just want to share some information I found.

An amendment to Bill C-2 was proposed today, and I know a lot of fake Facebook immigration agents won’t want to talk about it because it would kill their market of encouraging people to use fake proof of funds, leaving them stranded once they arrive in Canada.

If you’re coming to Canada and you want to study, make sure you actually hold your money. Claims made more than a year after arriving in Canada (post-June 24, 2020) — including by students and temporary residents — won’t be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB)

This means that if, after school or at any time during your studies, you want to file for asylum, your case will not be referred to the Immigration and Refugee Board. In summary, the government will not even consider your case.

So, after school, if you can’t get permanent residency (PR) after your work permit, and you want to file for asylum, they won’t even look at your case. Even during school, if for some reason you can’t pay fees and want to file for asylum, they will not process your case.

Even before this amendment, I mentioned that coming from Nigeria, there was already a 13% approval rate. Now, with this amendment, if your case falls into the mentioned category, they won’t even look at it because they consider it a waste of time.

So please, have a plan for what to do during your studies and after graduation. Try to find the best routes to qualify for permanent residency, like focusing on courses and fields of work under category-based draws and Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) that you qualify for. Things are tough, but it’s possible if you know and plan accordingly.

The truth is,
both programs are not related.

He does not need to ask you because its there in your DS160 your degree program.

try again with your related program or do post graduate studies on the course you want to study.

First attempt: (denied)
I was on window 4 and the white American guy attended to me. Even though I smiled to him he just kept a straight face.
Vo: How many schools did you apply to;
Me: I applied to two schools the university of Bridgeport and University of New Haven. I was admitted in both universities both I’m going with the university of New Haven because their mba program gives me access to real world business experience which aligns with my goal to successfully manage my family’s cosmetics business.
Vo: who will be sponsoring your education.
Me: My mum would be sponsoring me, she is the CEO of Geserve industries a cosmetics business that deals with the production of hair care products, skincare products as well. She is fully capable and willing to sponsor my education. I have the necessary bank statement to prove this.
Vo; Have you ever travelled outside the country
Me: Yes I travelled to Dubai in 2022 for a family vacation with my mum and siblings it was a two week holiday after which we returned to Nigeria.

He didn’t even give me a good reason. It says on the paper that they are not sure I am going to the United States for the reason I mentioned.
Where did I go wrong as I plan to reapply before school resumes in August.

Yes, he was not interviewed and asked to reschedule after 2 business day.
If you have gone to the Lagos embassy before, you know that the first process is to queue outside then you will be called inside based on your appointment time.
Next step: when your inside, you go through document check, where they check your documents and confirm your name on their list and system to know if your to be interviewed on that day, before you will be directed to the main interview hall.

That was were my friend had issue, they said his name was not reflecting on the system, and on their paper the name was there but it was showing NO RECORDS found. And I don't know if anyone else had face such before, I was just wondering what would be the cause and how to avoid such for next time sake?
