National Council of State has pegged the National Minimum wage at N27,000.

This amount is for the least paid workers in the states and the private sector.

However, Federal Government workers will take home N30,000 as their minimum wage.

The Council arrived at this decision at its meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

The Minister of Labour, Dr Chris Ngige, has just confirmed the development to State House Correspondents in Abuja.

With the outcome of the meeting, Ngige stated that a bill would be sent to the National Assembly latest on Wednesday (tomorrow).

Let me use this medium to give you a brief of BHT attack on 7BDE Multinational Joint Task Force, Baga.

Am not here to support any political party or any group, as the case may be, but to say nothing but the FACTS.

I was among the troops deployed at 7BDE MJTF, BAGA but i was on Pass since on 24th, Monday, two days before the attack, i was socked to hear the news and immediately i called one of my colleagues currently in the base, but i could'nt reach him till on Thursday 27 and he narrate the incident to me.

The BHT came in Large convoy and before reaching our camp, they started engaging the naval base at about 3km to HQ MJTF, the fight took about 2hours, that soldiers have to go for reinforcement, on reaching there, the BHT has already withdrawn to boycout the camp and look for another way to reach HQ MJTF which they succeded, but 1 navy is down and some were injured, on reaching our camp, the second phase of the attack started and our Commander quickly call for Air support, but the airforce insist they cannot engage the BH because the soldiers may likely be affected due to close quarter battle. After like 40min of the engagement the soldiers were ordered to withdraw and the BHT took over the camp.

Later that night the BHT took over camp celebrating their victory, and that was when the airforce arrived and started engaging them some of them fled to the nearest villages while many died in the bombardment. Some even end up running into the soldiers Arbour area.

...And I am d winner!!

Our main problem in this country is not because we are Nigerians....

Until that day when we all go to polling unit, vote the best candidate without been nepotism...then our problem is solved.

6. Steyr AUG:
Lightweight [/b]and more robust, the Steyr AUG offers different variants as well as a change of barrel. Designed in Austria, it is a 5.56mm assault rifle with a Spz-kr type progressive trigger. 5. Heckler & Koch G36:
G36 is a 5.56X45 mm assault rifle, designed in Germany by Heckler and Koch in the early 90s. Designed to replace the G3, G36 is a gas operated assault rifle that feeds from a 30-round detachable box magazine or a 100-round C-Mag drum magazine. More robust than an AK-47, it can fire from under water or mud with good precision. However, it is less reliable than an AK-47 but it definitely makes up for it by its astounding precision.

Better precision than AK-47 and smaller rounds which grounds lower recoil gives AK-74 a good standing in this list. Fitted muzzle breaks further reduce the recoil but the AK-74 is less reliable than the 47. The rifle causes less damage compared to an AK-47. The uniqueness of AK-74 lies in its weight. A 10 magazine, 300 round ammunition would weigh around 12.1 lbs – a weight equal to that of a 6 magazine, 180 round AK-47.

3. ACR:
Adaptive Combat Rifle, is an updated version of the Masada Adaptive Combat Weapon System. Designed to replace the M16s, the ACRs are known to have the lowest recoil force among all assault rifles. It is extremely useful for long shootouts, which brings this rifle to number 3 position. It’s one of the smartest rifles ever made with its very particular damage-to-weight ratio which almost eliminates all recoil.

2. FN scar:
The number two on this list is the FN scar which can fire two types of shells; one, chambered with M16 ammunition and another, chambered with a round similar to the AK-47. Highly customizable, and considerably more steadfast than M16, it’s a bit less reliable than the AK-47. However, its precision and customizability is no match for any other rifle including AK-47.

When it comes to the number one assault rifle, AK-47 takes over all other rifles in one aspect: reliability. A study on the rifle proved that an AK-47 can be used even after it has been driven over by tank, filled with mud and water or covered with rust. The world’s most widely used assault rifle, the AK-47s have killed more number of people than any other assault rifle that ever existed. Beside the reliability factor, another reason why AK-47 is notoriously popular is because it comes cheap and there are a lot of fakes in the illegal markets around the world.

7. Galil:
Designed by Israel Military Industries Ltd., Galil is one of the smallest assault rifles in the world. With a line chambered for the intermediate 5.56X45mm NATO calibre bullets, with either the M193 or SS109 ball cartridge, its known well for its portability and low recoil. Usually, rifles with lower recoil are heavy which makes them less handy but some good engineering gives Galil its unique handiness.

8. Famas:
With the ammunition feed behind the trigger, the rifle has a bullpup configuration. Lightweight and design details cause more recoil but Famas is very handy. It can be easily transformed into a grenade launcher which can launch grenades up to 500 grams heavy. Its heavy weight is one of the drawbacks which decreases ease of movement.

9. M4A1:
The M4A1 is a gas operated, magazine fed, selective fire, shoulder-fired weapon with the option of a telescoping stock. Heavily used by the US military, it is a small version of the M16 with various detachable accessories called SOPMOD. Smaller size roots more recoil, lesser precision but increased ease of carrying. With little rearrangement it can also be converted into a grenade launcher.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Friday June 15, 2018, as the day to mark the Eid-el-Fitr, and the end of Ramadan fast.

The Sultan announced the sighting of the new moon of the month Shawwal in a broadcast in Sokoto on Thursday.

The Islamic month of Shawwal comes after the 29 or 30 days of the month of Ramadan when Muslims across the world observe a month-long fasting.

Abubakar said the new moon was sighted in parts of Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Borno, Jigawa, Nassarawa, Plateau and Sokoto States among others.

OPERATION LAFIYA DOLE TROOPS CLEAR CAMP ZAIRO AND RECOVER BATTLE TANKS

Troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE have been making tremendous progress in the on going clearance operations nicknamed Operation DEEP PUNCH II. Yesterday, Tuesday 30th January 2018, the advancing troops had contact with Boko Haram terrorists and engagement ensued.

During the encounter, they were able to recover an Eagle Main Battle Tank (EMBT), 1 VBL, 1 AK-47 Rifle, a Police Teargas Rifle, religious books, many Gas cylinder and bags of fertilizer, ostensibly for Improvised Explosives Devices making.

Other items destroyed by the gallant troops include 7 Gun trucks, 4 Trucks, 5 Hilux, 1 Prado Jeep, 1 Golf car, 4 Mitsubishi pick up, 1 Hiace bus, several Motorcycles, makeshift shelters, tentages and household items.
