The reason why i threw in politricks is because say you oppose fuel subsidy....you must be a Buhari supporter apparently.
Qus is !!!
Why no one has the balls yet to do the needful , is it that difficult ??

1.Buhari for opposing subsidy removal and for not removing it when he came into power.

2.If he had done so by 2015, we would be reaping the benefits. If he had not joined the 2011/12 protests...by now we would have more refinereis than Dangote.

Yes, I am not an APC saupporter...to answer your real question.

Thanks for your time.
Not just Búhari, Gej too , for not having the balls too to implement something he knows will benefit us all in the long run .
*I never cared about your political affiliation, the whole subsidy thing , the more I hear it, the more I get confused , I just want someone who would point who's to be blamed so I can vent my anger

Tinubu , Buhari and APC
Best way to get rid of them is definitely by voting them out..

Here is the problem

1.NNPC is bringing in fuel above N510 and selling it at N148 to depot as at this month...that is no longer sustainable.

2.From the article above, some indepdendent depots are buying from major marketers...at high prices...which means that they have to sell at a loss to keep to NNPC price of N179

3.Diesel costs are impuigning on overall fuel costs.

At the end, subsidy has to go to bring an end to the crisis.

I know, Nigerians will suffer. I wish it was not so, and to all those who insult me about my support for fuel subsidy removal....I have heard, I have considered it, and God knows that if there was a way to keep petrol at even N20 per liter for the sake of the poor and needy, I would take it.

But we cannot import fuel at N500 AND ABOVE , and sell it at N179, and expect miracles.

Even if we refine at home, we cannot refine fuel below N200 per liter. Before transport self.

You can insult me, you can abuse me, you can call me names, but if you won't sell at a loss....you cannot expect the petrol industry to sell at a loss...because you will encourage them to do sharp practices...which is what is happening.

It is wishful economics to import fuel at N510 and sell it at N148 and pay subsidy, that would have been used to pay for refineries , new and old...to cover the losses...while the cost of production goes up

The DSS move was lipstick on a pig. Lipstick on a pig won't turn it into Miss World...it will still be a pig. At the end, people were not moving product out because they could not afford to do so at a loss. DSS should have stuck to security. Economics is not their forte.

Either we pay the market price of fuel at the pump...like they do elsewhere...or we pay it at the IMF HQ, with them dictating the terms.

GEJ, in a way, was right in 2012. As was NOI and SLS.

Good morning.
All these long epistle written , who's fault is it ?

yes ofcourse, its better to register at multiple parks so u can load more often.

No driver can be trusted. Even the sincere ones can be tempted to misbehave ones in a while.

To track the drivers better and monitor them, liase nd get contacts of the park managers as they will let you know how many passengers loaded and the price for each passengers. Also choose for the park manager to pay your money direct to your account and give the driver just fuel and commission money if its payment by commission.
If its for the driver to pay you weekly, you just can also monitor his movement through the park manager to notify each time he loads so he wont give excuses that he didn't load and there was no money to remit you that period.

The most important way to monitor them apart from through the park manager or workers is to install a vehicle tracker. It will show when wherever he goes. you can also set it to send u sms when the vehicle starts or its switched off or its running above 120km.
Funny , with all these mentioned tactics to beat drivers trick , they will still outsmart you . Drivers are going to a different hell , not even politicians come to them.. & yes , I used to be or still registered to more than 7 parks in Lagos , about 4 in Abj , kd , Jos , Kano too , but then its money to renewing your membership with all unions . Finally , if I want to driver ( transit ) 7days of the week , I know what to do , but then ,it's part of the easiest 3ways to die , not from accident or road issues , but from fatigue.. drop mic

IyaTola, thank you very much for this piece. I hope the mods would move this to front page cos our youths of nowadays need to ponder on this. Life isn't what most of them think it is. I know Kurmin Maashi very well in Kaduna. I may also know the man you talked about cheesy. Down the road, off that express way is Sefa Specialist Hospital in Kaduna, off college road. The owner, Dr Akuse was a highly intelligent doctor. He passed away in 2014. How time flies. Nobody even remembers him again in their association called SOGON, where he used to be very active. I've been to the lengths and breadth of Nigeria, even transversed the Atlantic ocean, down to Indian ocean and the Great Mediterranean sea and I've come to realise one thing, vanity upon vanity, all is vanity.

My mum is almost 90 years old. Very active in her hay days. The moment I read your post, my mind went straight to her and i wished I saw her that very moment. There was a day I first gave her money and she said, please give it to Igede, her maid taking care of her. I asked, but why and she said nothing, that the lady would need it to be buying things for her. My mama wey no dey trust anyone with money grin.

I hope people would learn from this reality. The Buhari we're talking about today, the politicians who think they own Nigeria, would soon become a passing whim. I boarded same flight with Prof Sagay sometime ago. I looked at this man and remembered how he used to be active in those days. Prof is a good friend of president buhari. He walked a little and sat on a couch at the airport to rest a little, putting his walking stick aside. I greeted him and he just waved his hand...a refined gentleman, full of honesty. I asked a young man recently, what can you tell me about Awolowo. I pointed to his big statue at the Agidingbi junction, off Awolowo way in Ikeja. He said, i learnt he was a popular politician. That was the same man who gave our grand parents the opportunity of passing through western education by making it free. He's been forgotten by many, just like that?

This life is not worth stressing oneself over. I just look at the greedy politicians at times and shake my head. They'd soon be gone and nobody would remember them ever again. Thanks for sharing this.

Anyone who wishes to always reflect on this life should buy or download a novel by Kofi Awoonor titled "This Earth, My Brother". Life lessons are in-there richly
Think I know Dr Akuse , has a hospital close to Brains Trust School, have a family friend off college road . Life's really vanity

you spent time and data typing rubbish and ending up making absolutely no sense at all. It has become very obvious to me that you are completely jobless. I can pay you to wash my cars daily as long as you promise not to open your dirty mouth in the process. You can’t beg money for data and then use it to write jargon here. Swallow your inconsequential pride and I can help you pay for your daily bread so hunger will not kill you.
