It’s been 10 days since she was violently raped by an okada rider who took her home from her aunty’s shop, but 14-year-old Esther (not real names) was still writhing in pain and sobbing when PUNCH visited her on Tuesday. With little signs of attaining puberty, she looked very young and innocent. Even though she tried as much as she could to hide her pains, a mix of anger and regret was still written boldly on her face, and she occasionally appeared lost in some painful thoughts. She sat quietly on a wooden stool in her aunty’s shop and looked round to make sure no one was listening or watching as she made to share the saddest story of her life with Saturday PUNCH. Until penultimate Saturday, Esther, who hails from Benue State and currently an apprentice in her aunty’s cake shop was a virgin, but she lost her virginity to a man she had never met before and in a violent way. She said her aunty At 14, she already had an experience that might hurt her for life. Not only has she insisted on not forgiving the okada rider, identified as Sharafa Wasiu, for violating her, Esther, who has scars all over her body occasioned by the incident, even wished Wasiu a quick journey to the great beyond “because of what he did to me. I feel sad anytime I remember that day.” She maintained that she had been doing all she could to remain a virgin until she was married but all those efforts to safeguard one of her most treasured assets, virginity, became a waste when Wasiu, after dropping her infront of her house, trailed her into the house and raped her in broad daylight. She said, “That Saturday, I stopped a bike from the front of our shop to take me home. When we got home, he dropped me in front of the house, I paid him and I went in, not knowing he was still lurking around. I thought he had left, not knowing that he wheeled his motorcycle to the side of the house and stayed there, watching me. It was about 2pm. “My aunty had told me to help her clean her shoes, so the moment I entered, I started packing the shoes outside so I could clean them. I used the kitchen entrance and I closed it when I packed the first round. “When I was in the room packing the remaining shoes, I heard the sound of the door and I asked who was there. I didn’t hear anything, so I went to check who or what was there. The next thing I saw was the okada man that dropped me a short while ago. “Immediately, he pushed me to the floor with so much force, overpowered me, being a taller and more hefty person, he pulled my skirt and pants and raped me. I struggled with him but I didn’t succeed. Apart from the pain from the forceful entry and the terrible smell oozing out of his body, he was rubbing my body against the floor, inflicting serious injuries on my body. I kept shouting but nobody heard me because I was the only one at home.” She explained that when Wasiu released and spilled his Fluid on her body, coupled with the blood that was coming out from her private part, she thought her trauma was over, thus, she pushed him away and made for the door. But unknown to her, Wasiu was busy gathering momentum for the second round. She said, “When he finished, I pushed him away, pulled up my skirt and ran to the door to escape. I barely opened the door when he suddenly ran after me, pushed me and pinned me to the floor. I was gasping but he tore all my clothes, leaving me stark Unclad, and dragged me on the floor, trying to take me inside so he could rape me again. I can never forgive him for what he did to me. “By that time, blood was all over my body. I kept shouting but there was no one to rescue me. As he was trying to remove his trousers, I managed to escape (Unclad) and I ran through one side of the house while he ran through the other side to get me. That was how one of our neighbours saw me and quickly called on others who mobilised to the place at once and caught him.... Continue reading here: http://xclusiveafrica.com/?p=4785

The transport worker’s grieving family covered his body with blankets and made arrangements to transfer him to a local mortuary, according to a report in the Herald newspaper. But the next day Mr Zanthe’s friends and relatives scattered in disbelief when he started moving as they filed past to say their emotional goodbyes. The dead man’s boss Lot Gaka told THE MINGLE of the moment he realised his employee was still alive. He said: ‘I was the first to notice Zanthe’s moving legs as I was in the queue to view his body. This shocked me and the people arround... ‘At first I could not believe my eyes but later realised that there was indeed some movements on the body as other mourners retreated in disbelief. A Nigerian woman married to a Cleveland firefighter Lt. William Walker paid several people to murder her husband, according to a Cleveland Municipal Court charging document. She played the mourning widow at his funeral and called 911 after he was shot. Now, the wife of Cleveland Fire Lt. William Walker has been charged after investigators said she plotted his murder. Police took Uloma Walker-Curry, 44, into custody Tuesday. She is charged with aggravated murder. Walker, 45, was ambushed outside his East Side home on Nov. 3, 2013. He was shot several times in the chest before the gunman hired by his Nigerian wife left in a car. Uloma Walker-Curry, who was home at the time, made a frantic 911 call seconds after her husband was shot. Uloma Walker-Curry married the firefighter in July 2013. Last month, prosecutors charged Chad Padgett with aggravated murder in connection with the case. Padgett, 21, was dating Walker's stepdaughter at the time of the slaying and sent several text messages seeking a gun in the days leading up to the homicide, Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Brian Murphy said during Padgett's arraignment. Officials have not identified Padgett as the gunman. He is being held on $1 million bond. Walker, 45, parked in his driveway and was walking toward his Lampson Road home when the attack occurred, police said. Witnesses told police they heard shouting coming from outside the home at the time of the shooting, officials said. Walker died at MetroHealth Medical Center. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office, which performed an autopsy Monday, will determine the official cause of death. The city promoted Walker from firefighter to lieutenant in August. Walker joined the Cleveland Division of Fire in 1998 and was certified as an emergency medical technician, officials said. According to reports by AP, Cleveland homicide detectives initially followed leads provided by Walker-Curry that neighborhood drug dealers might have killed her husband to stop him from complaining about them. But a Crime Stoppers tip and cellphone technology, including text messages, led detectives to investigate Walker-Curry, who was arrested last week, prosecutors said. Dorty was sentenced to 15 years in prison last year for an unrelated aggravated robbery. Padgett was arrested Aug. 8 for Walker’s slaying. Padgett dated Walker-Curry’s daughter, prosecutors said. No attorney information was available for the four suspects. Walker-Curry and Padgett are being held on $1 million bonds. No bond has been set for Hein, who was arrested Monday. The juvenile will eventually face delinquency charges, prosecutors said. One of Walker-Curry’s three children, a daughter who asked to only be referred to by her first name, spoke with FOX 8 about the arrest. Jessica said she actually moved out of state years ago because of her rocky relationship with her mother. She called her mom hurtful and a pathological liar, but said she never imagined she could also be a cold-hearted killer. “I cannot, I cannot even think how this is possible,” Jessica said. “But I wouldn’t put it past her. I’m so disgusted. I’m hurt… The way she performed at the funeral... I feel really really bad.” Jessica didn’t know her sisters boyfriend, who is also charged in the case, but met him at the funeral and described him as unemotional and detached. She isn’t sure if she will contact her mother in jail, and said right now her thoughts and prayers are with the Walker family. “Because one thing I know is that he loved his kids, he loved his family," Jessica said. "He was really good guy.” Those thoughts were echoed by the woman who lived next door to Walker. Frances Russell described him as a nice man, who worked two jobs to put his daughter through college. “I want to know the reason, why would you just kill a person like that?” Russell said. She said she suspected it was an inside job and she’s praying for the family. “We always thought it was personal,” she said. “It's hard to explain that you can see a person and know they have that much evil in their heart.” SOURCE: http://xclusiveafrica.com/2015/09/nigerian-woman-murders-husband-so-she-can-get-his-insurance-photos
