I totally agree with the post. This should go to some schools in Lagos. I know of some schools in Lagos that actually dictates hairstyles for students every freaking week....kilode!!! Every week new style, na that go make them get distinction? Its too much, such practice that have been in place since the 80s should have been stopped, but governments are focused on more mundane things |

House, this is the cost sent to me by my builder for the same 4 flats (2 flats up and down). Will need some ideas about the reasonableness of this quotation. Pegging - 25,000naira Digging - 35,000naira Casting - 55,000naira wood: 1x12x12=600*1000=600,000naira 2x3x12=300*350=105,000naira Nail - 2bags=11,000naira Cement - 250bagsx2000=500,000naira Granite - 40 tons = 170,000naira Sand - 80tons = 320,000naira Iron - 16mm (30length) =80,000naira 12mm (1 and half tons)= 232,500naira 10mm (1 ton) = 150,000naira Binding wire = 12,000naira Labor (Casting) = 200,000naira Labor (Capital) = 150,000naira Labor (iron) = 120,000naira Total is roughly 2.8million. According to the builder, this quotation does not include German floor. The land is in lekki by the way. |
@seun Maybe offshore jobs in the oil industry? 10k dollars a month is a million a month. Hmm. I find it hard to believe at first myself, i did mention that there may be some exaggerations. However, i got a confirmtaion from a colleague of mine that works for a mill company in naija (wont mention the name). His direct boss was hired from New York and he is being paid 1.5m/month. Believe it or not but to some extent i tend to believe it becuase if you look at it from the angle that the expatriates that were given these jobs in the past will have to be enticed with smth for them to stay. |
I believe in facts and wot many people have been saying is that Nigeria is getting better. Though i live in the states and i do go home like twice a year and i can testify to the changes. Though there may be some exaggerations but i've heard news of people coming home to work and earning like 9k to 10k dollars a month. If that is true, you cant beat it, no matter the inflation rate in nigeria. At the end of the day, u'll have more money saved up over there than abroad. |
