• | Arsenal have proven they are on the same level as Real Madrid by beating Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday, according to Sergio Ramos. The Gunners picked up a 2-1 win in Spain thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus. Martinelli rounded the goalkeeper to put Mikel Arteta ’s team ahead just before the break and Jesus doubled their advantage with a stunning curling strike into the top corner. Nemanja Gudelj headed Sevilla back into contention, but they couldn’t force an equaliser despite some late pressure. Victory moved Arsenal back to the top of Group B, a point ahead of Lens, who beat the Gunners 2-1 before the international break. Arsenal are playing in the Champions League for the first time since 2016/17 after finishing second in the Premier League last season. They may lack experience of competing in Europe’s top club competition, but Ramos thinks they have the quality to test any side. He compared them to Real Madrid, who drew 1-1 with Sevilla on the weekend. “In one against one we had chances to hurt them, knowing that Arsenal are a team that wants to play football, that leaves a lot of space on the line to take advantage of those losses that we sometimes found, but we did not capitalise well enough,” he said. “I think that in the end we played face to face, both against Real Madrid and Arsenal. It is true that it is difficult not to see a difference before we played the teams that, for me, currently play the best in Europe. And playing face to face with this type of team and knowing that they create from the back and want to create by playing football from the goalkeeper’s kick, is not easy.” Arteta was delighted with his side’s performance in Seville, but emphasised how much further the club still have to go. Asked about the win, he said: “Yes, but that’s the difficulty of winning in the Champions League and it shows how much we have to value that. That result against Lens put us in a difficult position and the team had to react. “We are coming from the back of very difficult games where the team has to step in and go against adversity as well with some of the injuries that we picked to big players. The team is so willing to at least try their best even if we don’t manage to be our best all the time.” Arsenal are back in action against Sheffield United at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday in the Premier League before travelling to West Ham for a last-16 tie in the Carabao Cup next week. Aaron Ramsdale to be affected by Premier League rule as Arsenal will be without David Raya So, Arsenal's 2-2 draw against Chelsea was not a turning point for Aaron Ramsdale as Mikel Arteta resisted calls to reinstate take David Raya out of the firing line for the Champions League clash with Sevilla. The Spaniard, who was the Gunners' fourth and final signing of the summer transfer window having joined on a season-long loan from Brentford, has effectively become the first-choice goalkeeper since making his debut against Everton after the September international break. Despite keeping clean sheets against the Toffees, PSV Eindhoven, Bournemouth and Manchester City, there have been a few shaky moments on his behalf. Some have been costly, the RC Lens equaliser is one example that immediately springs to mind, while he was rather fortunate on a couple of occasions in the 1-0 win over the Premier League champions. This, coupled with events at Stamford Bridge last weekend, has led to a clamor for Ramsdale to reclaim his place. After all, Arteta has said the battle for the right to be Arsenal's number one is a meritocracy and therefore it's understandable as to why such a debate is still ongoing. Against Chelsea, the travelling support inside the ground made their thoughts on the matter clear by chanting Ramsdale's name immediately after Raya, under no pressure, played the ball straight out to Cole Palmer but managed to recover in time to avoid his error being punished. The response was something that Arteta was asked about in the post-match press conference, but rather than being drawn on any comparisons to Raya, he instead chose to focus on the fact that Ramsdale had just become a father - hence his absence from the matchday squad. "Great. I love him and I will sing as well for him every single day," the Gunners boss told reporters. "We sang a lot for him yesterday because he became a father - the most beautiful thing. He's someone that has this charisma and personality and he’s very loved around the team." Admittedly, even with Ramsdale making the trip to Seville, a recall was always unlikely. Firstly because the stakes were relatively high in terms of Arsenal keeping their fate in their own hands with regard to qualifying for the knockout stages and it was the type of game that suited Raya as he is aggressive at coming for crosses. Ultimately it wasn't a surprise to see the Spaniard in the starting line-up against Sevilla, although his performance will split fans' opinions as football.londonawarded him a 6/10 rating with our Chief Arsenal Writer Kaya Kaynak explaining 'We saw the good and the bad of David Raya tonight'. Having said that, he didn't do anything to warrant being dropped for Saturday's Premier League clash at home to Sheffield United, which means, fitness permitting, it will be another game watching from the sidelines for Ramsdale and that might sting a bit given it's his former club. However, he will get his chances soon. The Carabao Cup tie against West Ham United is next week. Furthermore, as per Premier League loan rules that prevent a player from featuring against his parent club, he is assured, provided he's available for selection, to be in goal against Brentford on November 25 as Raya will be ineligible - which wasn't the case when the two sides met in the cup last month. This potentially creates a fascinating scenario especially if Ramsdale has only made one appearance heading into the London derby as he is all but guaranteed to get the opportunity to show Arteta that he should return to the starting line-up for the Premier League and Champions League fixtures that follow. 78’ - After Martin Ødegaard went off, Bukayo Saka was handed the captain’s armband for the first time ever in a Premier League game. 84’ - Six minutes later Bukayo Saka dug an assist out of nowhere to help his side salvage a point at Stamford Bridge today. A captain’s contribution. I LOVE Arteta mentality though as he has made everyone of them a Leader already at each point in time 2 Likes |

Jodera:Exactly and our draw vs Chelsea is actually the only positive draw else the one vs Fulham was caused by Jorginho while the entire team was to be blamed for the Tottenham Hotspur draw. Again, And interestingly, all the draws were against our London rivals and at the Emirates vs 2 in Fulham and Tottenham |

Arsenal 23/24 first 8 games so far: 6 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses. Scored 16, conceded 6. Arsenal 03/04 invincibles first 8 games: 6 wins, 2 draws, 0 losses. Scored 16, conceded 6. Identical. The invincibles’ 9th game of the season was against… Chelsea. And ARSENAL won by 2:1 with goals from Edu and Henry |
