TruthsFM:
APC Dominates Controls 31 States, Makinde Stands as Lone PDP Governor

A newly released political breakdown of Nigeria’s governorship landscape as of May 2026 shows overwhelming dominance by the All Progressives Congress (APC), which currently controls 31 out of the country’s 36 states.

The remaining five states are shared among smaller parties, each holding just one state. These include the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Accord Party, and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Notably, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, remains the sole governor under the PDP, highlighting a significant shift in Nigeria’s political balance and raising questions about the future strength of the opposition.
With APC’s firm grip on the majority of states, analysts say the current structure underscores both the party’s growing influence and the fragmented nature of opposition politics across the country.
Means he is strong, resolute, has character, and can not be bought by Tinubu and the APC

Osun is also no guarantee
Validated:
Do not mind the cornfused aide. They are now jittery as they never wanted Obi on the ballot. As it stands now SE, SS and NW are no go areas for APC. If Atiku holds NE, Tinubu can only win in the 5 SW states.
Even Osun is not also guaranteed.

PoliticsRe: Where Is The Siemens Deal? 4 Years Later, Nigerians Are Still In The Dark by kcbaba007: 2:59pm On Apr 26
OredoPikin:
Back in 2022/23, during the campaign run up to the 2023 elections, Peter Obi traveled to Egypt to study how they solved their power crisis, a fix so successful they now run a surplus. He wanted to see if that model could work for Nigeria.

What did he get for it? Attacks.
APC supporters mocked him, insisting the Buhari led APC government had already signed a deal with the same Siemens that handled Egypt’s turnaround. Photos of transformers circulated. “It’s done,” they said. “Obi is late.”

Fast forward to 2026. Four years have passed. Another election cycle is here. APC is still in power.

for context, the deal was signed in 2018 to add 25,000MW to our electricity generation. It's been 8yrs since that deal was signed.

So, where is the Siemens deal?
Where is the electricity?

Where are the transformers we were shown back then? Where is the megawatt increase Nigerians were promised under the Presidential Power Initiative with Siemens?

If the deal was real and executed, why are we still battling the same grid collapses and poor supply? If it failed, why the silence?

We can’t pretend this is not a question worth asking. Before we start debating 2027, Nigerians deserve an account of the last promises made.

To the APC supporters and defenders who told us the Siemens deal was already "settled" in 2022: where is it?

Power is not propaganda. It’s either in your sockets or it is not. And right now, the only thing Nigerians can see clearly is darkness.

Where is the Siemens deal?
Where is the electricity?
All we are getting is the falling and collapsing of the grid like bulabulu

PoliticsRe: Bishop Kukah Laments Insecurity, Urges Urgent Action by kcbaba007: 6:35pm On Apr 05
iwaeda:
The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, has warned that Nigeria is drifting dangerously amid what he described as “endless turbulence,” cautioning that the country could slide into a deeper crisis if urgent steps are not taken to restore trust, security, and good governance.

In his 2026 Easter message issued on Sunday and titled Faith and Hope in Times of Turbulence, Kukah painted a grim picture of a nation weighed down by insecurity, economic hardship, and leadership challenges.

“Turbulence is Nigeria’s surname,” the cleric declared, describing the country as one trapped in a cycle of instability worsened by what he called “self-generated turbulence by the local elites.”

He said the worsening security situation had spiralled into a humanitarian crisis, with thousands killed, millions displaced, and several communities devastated by violence.

“After over 20 years and well over 20,000 corpses, the grim harvester still roams freely across the country,” he said.

“For now, our nation has become what the late Pope Francis referred to as a field hospital.”

Kukah warned that growing distrust in the military and other government institutions was pushing desperate citizens into dangerous alliances, including collaboration with criminal elements.

“Years of fatigue have lured ordinary citizens into the treacherous embrace of bandits,” he said, noting that some individuals now serve as informants, thereby “trading the future of their families and communities.”

Addressing governance issues, Kukah accused Nigeria’s political elite of failing to fulfil campaign promises, leaving millions of citizens in poverty and many young people without hope for a better future.

“The Nigerian landscape is still riddled with unredeemed promissory notes,” he said.

“Unemployment is smothering the dreams of young people in the cradles of their hope.”

He criticised short-term relief interventions, arguing that such measures reflected deeper systemic failures in governance and planning.

“Merely distributing food is an admission of the failure of our nation to develop robust and aggressive agricultural plans capable of ending hunger,” he said.

Despite the bleak outlook, Kukah urged Nigerians, particularly Christians, not to give in to despair but to remain steadfast in faith and moral responsibility.

“We may be struck down, but we cannot be destroyed,” he said, while emphasising the need to strike a balance between the right to self-defence and the pursuit of peace.

He also urged citizens to play active roles in rebuilding the country, rather than assigning blame solely to leaders.

“It is a great mistake for us to ignore what role each and every one of us can play,” he said.

“Let us not surrender to despair, as we could become guilty bystanders.”

Drawing on biblical imagery, the cleric expressed optimism that Nigeria could overcome its present challenges through faith, unity, and collective action.

“The boat of our nation is threatening to sink, yet even in his sleep, he is awake to command the storm to be still,” he said.

He concluded with a call for both prayer and practical action towards national renewal.

“We pray but must also work hard, believing that the walls created by war and division will ultimately fall,” he added.

The message comes as Nigerians celebrate Easter amid persistent security concerns, rising cost of living, and growing worries about national unity and stability.
