Business › Re: Starting A Plastic Waste Recycling Business by Kclawx: 9:29am On Oct 10, 2025 |
Abariwiseman: Introduction
In Nigeria, recycling of plastic waste is one area anybody can easily venture into. The raw materials are easily found everywhere. Processing companies are looking for more suppliers to meet their needs.
Plastic waste that can be recycled includes PET bottles, Nylon bags, sachet-water nylon, PET-bottle caps, plastic containers, Nylon bags, etc.
Plastic recycling business is so vast that fortunately or unfortunately as the case may be, only few people are doing it.
Value-Chain in Plastic Recycling Business
Plastic waste collection/ Sorting / Storage – Stage 1
Baling – Stage 2
Shredding (Plastics) or Agglomeration (Nylon) – Stage 3
Pelletizing – Stage 4
From the value chain above you can enter into the business of plastic recycling in any stage depending on your financial capacity.
Plastic Waste collection/ Sorting/Storage – Stage 1
This stage is the simplest of the value chain. It is mostly dominated by our brothers from the North with high/tight trading network. However you can get your supply from other source e,g manufacturing companies waste, schools, hotels, supermarkets, etc.
Supplier/Collection/Sorting – scale – storage – sell
Equipment Needed: (1) Weighing Scale (2) Packing Bags (Optional)
Baling – stage 2
One thing about plastic recycling business is that the more you move down the value chain, the more money you make. You will make more money if you bale/sell than selling directly. Plastic recycling companies pay higher per kilo for baled products.
Baling is very important especially when transportation/distance are considered. It is better to compact (bale) plastic waste for easy handling and size reduction to save cost during transportation.
Note: Before Baling, plastic waste should be cleaned and sorted.
Supplier – Scale – Bale – Stack – Sell
Equipment Needed: (1) Scale (2) Baling Machine
Shredding or Agglomeration – stage 3
If you want to go into plastic recycling business through this stage, you need a plastic shredding machine (Machine for cutting of plastics into pieces [flakes]) or an Agglomerator (Machine for grinding Nylon into powdery form [Agglomerates])
Having these machines you can operate in two or either ways
Buy from suppliers, Shred or agglomerate and sell to plastic recycling companies or Operate as a milling station whereby people come to your place to shred or agglomerate and pay you for your service. Supplier – Scale – Shred or Agglomerate – Store – Sell
Equipment Needed: (1) Scale (2) Shredding Machine or Agglomerator
Pelletizing – stage 4
Pelletizing machines converts plastic flakes or Agglomerates to granules before they are been sold to plastic manufacturing companies that uses extrusion, Injection or blow mould to form them into various plastic shapes. If you want to go into the business at this stage, you need a pelletizing machine
Supplier – scale – Pelletize – Store – sell
Equipment Needed: (1) Scale (2) Pelletizing Machine
for sales, supply and Installation of these recycling equipment

Science/Technology › Re: Inside The UK's Nigerian Tech Boom by Kclawx: 10:38am On Jun 23, 2025 |
This is the kind of narrative we need to amplify. Nigerian tech professionals are not just surviving abroad, they are leading, building, and bridging innovation between nations. It’s inspiring to see how talent from one of Africa’s youngest and fastest-growing ecosystems is influencing major sectors in the UK, while also giving back to Nigeria through networks, capital, and mentorship.
The idea that migration is purely brain drain is outdated, this is brain circulation. We’re witnessing a strategic diaspora that understands both worlds and is leveraging that duality to create real global impact. If supported further, this wave could be one of Nigeria’s most valuable exports. |

I'm thinking of buying used Keke from listings on Jiji, but I’m always skeptical about used items — especially the fear that they might be stolen. I don’t want a situation where someone shows up one day claiming the tricycle is theirs.
That said, I’m actually planning to go full-time into buying fairly used Keke and reselling them. But if you're always scared, how will you ever do business?
How can I do this safely? |

Wisdom is to appear weak to those in power so they can feel themselves very well and let those f00ls up there keep saying it’s cowardice. One day it will sup and you’ll know all these while Igbos are not stupid.
A day of reckoning will come and all you enjoying closeness with Igbo without respecting us will answer for killing over 2 million Igbos and destroying everything we worked for.
Look at us today, those you destroyed their region, businesses and human recourse yet we came out to the top again on individual struggles no government assist whatsoever, yet you rejoice at our pain simply because we demanded regional government so that wicked and selfish leaders don’t keep exploiting ordinary man like you who isn’t even benefiting anything but marred with wretchedness and poverty in your stupid tribalism.
It is nature and how it will happen none of us can tell but even as you were told that Igbos should never rule Nigeria know it’s not possible that Igbos will not rule Nigeria someday. When that time come I hope history you don’t forget.
Keep rejoicing at we being cowards to the power you hold today. Nonse! |
