The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) is delighted to sponsors the SPDC Niger Delta Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme for applicants from Rivers, Delta and Bayelsa States. Admission and Registration Formalities
The school admits candidates for two different programmes yearly. The 3 year Basic Nursing Programme which starts in September, is meant for secondary school leavers, while the 18 months Post Basic Nursing programme which commences in March is meant for qualified Midwives. Application forms are advertised and purchased at a prescribed fee and candidates who fulfill the Nursing and Midwifery Council entry requirements are invited for an entrance examination and oral interview which is organized and conducted by the HHSS/Nursing department. Candidates who gain the desired entry points from the aforementioned assessment are selected for admission into the programme (s).
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
The Basic General Nurse Training is a General Nursing course open to young males and females of not less than 17.5 years of age, at the time of admission.
ENTRY QUALIFICATION
(a) Holder of WASC or its Equivalent with at least 5 credits passes including English, mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at not more than 2 sittings. WASC, G.C.E, S.S.C.E or NECO results should not exceed 10 years from the date of issuance from the examination body.
POST BASIC NURSING
(a) The post basic Nurse Training is open to Registered Midwives. They should posses the registered Midwife certificate and current practicing License from N&MCN in addition to the basic entry requirements stipulated for the basic training programme. (b) Other entry requirements for admission include certain categories of persons authorized by the Nursing &Midwifery Council of Nigeria to spend a specified length of time in an approved Training School in Nigeria before registration (Foreign Students).
PERIOD OF INTAKE
Intake into the Basic Nursing Training programme is September of every year and March for the Post Basic Nursing Programme. Entrance examination is as follows; June for Basic Nursing and December for Post Basic. Successful candidates go through oral interview at dates fixed by the appropriate panel set up for this purpose.
DURATION OF THE COURSE
(a) For Basic Nursing programme the successful candidates undergo three years of training. (b) For Post Basic Nursing programme, the successful candidates undergo 18 months of training. (c) Other categories are as recommended by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
TRANSFER STUDENTS
Transfer of students from other Schools of Nursing is not acceptable.
STUDENT SPONSORSHIP
Students are self sponsored but presently the FCTA gives a monthly allowance to students on the Basic Nursing Programme. The stipend will automatically cease after the release of the N&MCN Final Qualifying Examination results.

This is to inform the general public that online application for admission into the 66th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna will be available for sale from 1st November 2013 to 28th February 2014. Admission into NDA is open to both MALE and FEMALE Nigerians. METHOD OF APPLICATION
Interested candidates are advised to purchase access or PIN codes from any of the branches or cash offices of Zenith Bank Plc nationwide, at the cost of N2,500.00 only, excluding bank charges of N500.00 for an online application. NATURE AND DURATION OF TRAINING
Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years. On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a university first degree (BSc, BEng, BA) and a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
ADMINISTRATION
Regular Course cadets will train at NDA Permanent Site, Kaduna. Cadets will be kitted, accommodated and fed at Federal Government expense throughout the duration of training. Officer Cadets will also receive a monthly allowance for general upkeep.
REFERENCE MATERIALS
In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers at the cost of N3,000.00 only. This can be purchased from the Registry Department, NDA or from designated Zenith Bank branches.

When Google brought forth the Nexus One, one of the aesthetically pleasing features was Live Wallpapers. Unfortunately, most of the Android phones vary so greatly, that despite the hardware being compatible with Live Wallpapers, the software won’t allow them to run. My Samsung Galaxy Spica is a perfect example. The handset’s hardware can easily handle Live Wallpapers, yet Samsung chose to exclude it. Thanks to rooting, you can have them on your device as long as hardware allows.

EXTRA APPLICATIONS
Folks at XDA-Developers have created a wonderful application, SetCPU, which allows easy overclocking of various Android CPUs. However, due to the permissions required for such level of operation, a superuser access is necessary, and that can come only from a root access. This is just one example. The internet is flooded with many such applications that remain useless unless you have rooted your phone.
Multitouch
If you have ever typed on an iPhone, you would always remember the smooth, fast typing action that you achieve on that amazing keyboard. Or if you can recall that pinch-zoom actions. These are the products of a multitouch screen.
While most Androids can deal with multitouch, various manufacturers have decided to omit it in their devices. This is not always because the hardware is incapable, but because the software does not let it happen. This becomes even more irritating when you see that HTC Hero had multitouch input support back from the Android 1.6 days, but more modern more powerful 2.1 devices never got it (again, my Spica).
Thanks to rooting, it has become possible to get multitouch input in various devices, most notably the G1.
WIFI AND Bluetooth Tethering
After having rooted your device, you can also use WiFi or Bluetooth tether to share your cellular data connection with your laptop or PC. The application works with ad hoc connections and will get you up and running online on your laptop in no time. Similarly, tethering can also be achieved over a Bluetooth connection. You may check out the app in question here, but remember, rooted-phones only.

While BlackBerry 10 devices already have a huge selection of apps from which to choose, there may be more you want that aren't available in BlackBerry World. Thankfully on BlackBerry 10 devices you can install Android applications without too much effort. The process, known as sideloading, allows you to transfer converted applications in the BlackBerry format (BAR files) to your device. Keep in mind it's not foolproof however -- some apps work, some don't. There are plenty of free Android apps around the web that have already been converted and are ready to go so you shouldn't have much trouble tracking them down.
You can do this process both from a Windows PC (covered in this post) or a Mac (which we'll talk about here). So if you think you're ready to dive in, keep reading and see just how it's done.

How to load Android applications onto your BlackBerry 10 device from a Mac

First, make sure the drivers from your BlackBerry 10 phone have been installed onto your Mac. So before you sideload any apps, you need to first connect your phone to your Mac, and follow through and allow it to install the drivers it wants to install.
Make sure you Mac OS is up to date and then download the Playbook_Tools here. Yes, I know it says "PlayBook Tools" but it works just the same for BlackBerry 10 phones - so stick with us
Unzip the files into your /user/ directory (The directory typically shows as your username - mine is "/adamzeis/". You can put them wherever you want, it's just easier this way).

Move the files from the Playbook_Tools\lib\ folder to the Playbook_Tools directory.
Put your BlackBerry 10 device into Developer Mode by going to Settings > Security and Privacy > Development Mode. Note the IP address of your device - you can change it if you'd like. You'll get a notification in the Hub when Development Mode is enabled. You'll also be required to enter a password here if you don't have one already. Don't forget your password!!

Find the .bar file for the app you want to install (there's a great selection here). After downloading, move the .bar file into the Playbook_Tools directory
Open the Terminal application on your Mac (found under Applications > Utilities > Terminal). Your Terminal screen will show something along the lines of: new-host-2:~ adamzeis$
Type cd playbook_tools and press Enter. Terminal should now read something like: new-host-2:playbook_tools adamzeis$
Type the followin into Terminal: java -Xmx512M -jar BarDeploy.jar -installApp -device DEVICE_IP -password DEVICE_PASSWORD appname.bar Be sure to add in your device IP address, password and the name of the .bar file.
Terminal will do it's magic and when it's done, your app will be ready to roll on your BlackBerry 10 device.
You can turn off both Development Mode and Password (Settings > Security and Privacy > Development Mode) unless you typically use a password.

Now before we fully get rolling on this there are a few things to mention. First off, this guide assumes you already have an Android device kicking around in order to install apps onto and subsequently back them up with. It doesn't need to be connected to a network but it should be Wi-Fi enabled so that you can download the apps needed.
