If the President's strategy is to replace Northern Kaduna votes or better yet, Northern Muslim votes with Southern Kaduna or Northern Christian votes, then he has already lost the election. In 2023, Northern muslims splitted their votes between Tinubu (a southerner) and Atiku (a Northerner and a collusus in his own right). The Northern Christians and indeed, Southern Kaduna largely voted Obi in protest of the Muslim-Muslim ticket. Traditionally, Southern Kaduna have always voted PDP, they have never voted APC before now.
The President is fast loosing his Northern Muslim base and if these numbers are added to Atiku's, then the President will lose even if he gets Southern Kaduna votes (which as at today, is still not guaranteed). He should have found a way to keep his Northern base while still wooing the Northern Christian minorities. He hasn't done that. Right now, he's just replacing one for the other which is a strategic mistake.
Below are the numbers for Kaduna and how the two regions in the country voted. Like it or not, the North delivered Tinubu in 2023 because he lost Lagos and Osun in his region and generally didn't win the South. You can do the maths.

About Obi and far north votes…
The only reason Obi seemed to perform poorly in far north was because of his running mate in 2023 who was not popular with the talakawas of the north. Substitute Datti for Tambuwal with the backing of northern oligarchs who would dispatch Imams and their foot soldiers to campaign positively for Obi, and you see the sentiment change and his votes skyrocket.
Of course you know Southeast and Southsouth is Obi’s place any day, and even large part of MiddleBelt.
It will be in Atiku and north’s best interest to step down their interest for Peter Obi or Tinubu does his 8 years.

But the recent interview of the outgoing President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwunmi Adesina, talking about being available for any role in the future (with 2027 presidency clearly in sight) there seems to be a new bride who might be entering the race.
Ordinarily I would have taken Adesina’s interview as a no issue but knowing that he’s another guy President Obasanjo admires, I won’t be surprised if he becomes a surprise joker in the race.
But now I want to ask, who would you rather faces Tinubu as candidate of the united opposition, Peter Obi or Akinwunmi Adesina?

Governor Fubara had withdrawn the case yesterday against Martins Amewhule and others, by this withdrawal, it shows that the appeal court judgement that Amaewhule is the authentic speaker still stands and Fubara was fined N2m. You may want to ask why the governor withdraw the case? Ofcos now there is another case in federal high court in Rivers state following the defection of the speakers, Supreme court has nothing to do with this case, cos the case today was about authentic speaker and not defection. So in the coming days, expect the federal court to sack Amaewhule and his friends, and if this judgement happens, it automatically means the supreme court ruling will not be obeyed.
The case is far from over
And it will still end in supreme cos if Fubara used rivers high court then Wike will use supreme Court in Abuja to obtain a favourable judgment for martin led house. Fubara can't win the fight. Let him keep moving around like a ball.
