First a rooted phone is a sine qua non to installing WhatsApp+. If yours is rooted then follow the procedures aforementioned by reediano in page 74. Lemme make it easier for you.

Here it is:

To all those who are unable to install whatsapp+
on their infinix hot, i just got a solution.
==> Install and launch root explorer. download
here
==> go to the root directory. On root explorer just
click on option and select home.
==> navigate to data/app-lib and open the folder.
==> Long press on the “com.whatsapp” folder.
==> Select permission.
==> check all the boxes under read, write and
execute and also check the “also set on all sub-
folders and files” box.
==> Now delete the com.whatsapp folder.
==> go back to the root directory and navigate to
data/data folder.
==> Long press on the com.whatsapp folder, edit
the permission and delete the folder.
==> go back to the root folder and navigate to
system/vendor/operator/app.
==> open the folder and delete the whatsapp app.
==> Now just restart your device.
==> You can now go ahead and install your
whatsapp plus.

Here's to those craving for the Etisalat free 500mb bonus; there's a way it works, so I think. It seems phone1's imei comes valid, that is to say it only works for phone1's imei. I got to know this 'cause I tried and tried it with the phone2 imei but to no avail, I even got to change phone2's imei to another valid imei but still it wouldn't work. But then I just intuitively thought maybe it'd work for phone1's imei and then I changed phone2 to phone1's imei and then texted DATA to 8186 and capow! It worked!

Note: I also changed that of phone1 to another imei, so you wouldn't think I got two imei(s) in both. For easy access, just put your etisalat sim in phone1's slot and it ought to work. I had to do that 'cause I got a mini sim for Etisalat.

Finally I rooted my infinix hot with Kingroot app, all thanks to reediano for the link he provided us with. Many thanks bro. The thing now is, I can't update the said SuperSU app I downloaded from playstore and it seems I ain't the only one experiencing that, even with a working data plan, what could be wrong?!

Oh! lest I forget, I managed to install WhatsApp+ also, still with the help of the link reediano dropped. After giving me much headache, I struggled to install it using brain I had from past experience in symbian belle refresh modding. It's a really cool app I must confess and its customization is ad infinitum. Screenshots below.

root genius an app used for rooting ur fone... Ur can read all about the benefits of rooting but mind u it voids your warranty.... If u d type dat tweaks ur fone n tempers with d system den rooting is for u but if not no need to root..... Google root genius apk download it go to settings---about phone and tap the build no up to 12 times ud b told u r already a developer... Den also under settings go to ur security n allow unknown sources.... Go to developer options n allow mock options den open d root genius app and click on root d one at d right side if it's in Chinese.... Make sure ur phone is charged... Wen it reaches 300% restart ur phone n check if kinguser is installed on ur fone den ur fone is rooted..... I hope dis helps

From all indications the fault is from Etisalat. I arrived at this conclusion because after dialing *#06 the IMEI that appeared was the same with the one at the back of the box. Now, IMEI is supposed to be 15 digits but when I text DATA to 8186 the error message which Etisalat returns includes a totally different 14 digit IMEI which they claim is mine hence it"s invalid e.g "The device imei 2536xxxxxx3928 is invalid."

On the other two Infinix Hot I bought, it returns the IMEI which is on their box less the last digit hence they still return a 14 digit IMEI.

It's as if they've configured their system to skip the last digit of the IMEI even when the first 14 digits are correct.

That's it! We are throwing away their yeye SIM and rocking GLO BIS.

There! That's better. Etisalat is far better than Glo in terms of surfing the net, bro.

In fact, after changing my phone's imei I tried this and I got a message "You have a pending request, please wait for confirmation." Before when I haven't changed my imei it says invalid imei but now this. They haven't yet confirmed it ever since yesterday. so the question now is, is this how yours went?

Obaayo2, can't both phone1 and phone2's imei be changed? I tried changing phone2's imei but instead it reflected at phone1. It did so twice. I really don't get it.

It took them 3days to get it to Warri, I wasn't informed so I went to their office 5days later to get it. No, I didn't get the 500mb. Your imei must be tweaked/valid before it can be activated.

It took them 3days but I didn't receive any calls from them, so I had to go to UPS delivery warehouse instead to get it myself, 5days later.

Lmao, funny post. It's okay though, I mean the "charcoal black." It is not really as black as charcoal as you may think. I use it and I think it's the best!
