Politics / GMB Promises To Explore Chad Basin Oil, 2000 Boko Haram Fighters Invade by kemitwarrior: 11:30am On Apr 27, 2015
Barely a week after incoming President
Muhammadu Buhari had told Borno
delegations who paid him a congratulatory
visit last Sunday at his Kaduna residence
that he will restore peace to the region by
according top priority in ending the 6-year
Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast in
addition to resuming the search for oil along
the Lake Chad Basin , over 2,000 Boko Haram
fighters reportedly took over Marte, an oil-
rich border town between Nigeria and
Cameroon in northern part of Borno State on
Thursday, sources said yesterday.
Sitting on the western coast of Lake Chad,
this is the third time insurgents will take over
Marte. They first took it over in 2012 but
were chased out by Nigerian troops shortly
after the declaration of state of emergency in
2013.
The terrorists also took over the town in
2014 during their territorial conquest of
various towns and villages but were again
forced out before the recent elections.
Idriss Deby accused of being behind Boko
Haram
Security sources and residents of Kirenowa,
the major town in Marte, said the insurgents
invaded the town from various locations and
succeeded in dislodging Nigerian troops
stationed in the area.
Abba Yusuf, a resident of Kirenowa told
reporters in Maiduguri that the insurgents
killed unspecified number of people and
destroyed some structures.
“They really wreaked havoc in Kirenowa and
environs this time around when peace was
returning and our people have started coming
back. They killed unsuspecting residents and
destroyed many buildings like the local
government secretariat,” Yusuf said.
Another resident, Mukhtar Ibrahim, said
troops engaged the insurgents throughout
Thursday.
“The fighting continued till early today
(Friday) when the soldiers retreated. The
town has fallen and insurgents are fully in
charge, they are more than 2000 in number,”
Ibrahim said.
He added that some of the insurgents have
advanced towards Monguno, a garrison town
which once fell to the Boko Haram fighters
but was recovered by Nigerian troops.
A security source who asked not to be
named confirmed that large number of Boko
Haram fighters thronged Marte.
The multi-million dollar question now is, is
the Boko Haram war truly about the oil in the
Lake Chad as being opined by some
analysts? If not, why are the insurgents, said
to be in large number, suddenly regrouped
and embarked on territorial conquest barely
few days after the President-electhas
promised the people of the Northeast that he
will rebuild their economy by resuming oil
exploration at the Lake Chad?

Who are those that have mortgaged the
future of people of the Northeast because of
the interest of oil at the Lake Chad?

Politics / Nigerians Say Goodbye To GMO Foods As Agric Minister Adesina Leaves by kemitwarrior: 11:05am On Apr 27, 2015
Nigerians Say Goodbye To Increasing Food Cost,
GMO Food As Agriculture Minister Akinwumi
Adesina Leaves

Nigerians Say Goodbye To Increasing Food Cost,
GMO Food As Agriculture Minister Akinwumi
Adesina Leaves
Some attribute agricultural development in Nigeria with the policies of Dr Akinwumi Adesina, the spectacle-wearing stand-out minister of
Agriculture. Indeed Dr. Adesina with his a decade
at the Rockefeller Foundation history, on a
superficial look transformed Nigeria’s agriculture
landscape, but is this the whole truth about his
legacy? I believe our outgoing minister of agriculture’s.legacy can best be summarized thus: Adesina converted Agriculture into a business. This is as he puts it, in his own words.
Dr. Adesina looked at the agric sector and
decided that rather than keep it a sort of
‘charitable’ operation, he could turn it around into
a business; and oh yes he did. Within a few years,
in spite of increasing desertification and Boko
Haram devastation, Nigeria met Millennium
Development Goal #1: reducing the population of
hungry people by half. Jobs were also created in
the agric sector.
It all looks good and everyday Bill Gates was
seen in Nigeria walking hand-in-hand with Dr
Adesina. But at what cost did Nigeria experience
Adesina’s ATA transformations? To whose gain?
Simply ask the common man: what the cost of
food is? Food prices have continued to rise in
Nigeria in spite of this great expansion. From the
fundamental principles of economics we
immediately see pertinent questions.
Why has the Consumer Food Price Index
continued to rise at about and above 10% each
year? Why has Food price inflation remained about 10.90%, and stayed higher than the core inflation rate?
Economics defines that with increased supply
there is decreased price but rather the cost of
staples is increasing in Nigeria, defying the basic
economics principle; to whose gain?
Importantly, how is it possible for food production to increase in spite of much of the nation’s food basket; from Benue to Borno, devastated by Boko Haram terror and marauding villagers, herdsmen and undefined agents? [I have written earlier on the broader contradictions and failures of our agriculture ministry touting increased food production with millions of northern farmers rather out of business via terror of the Jonathan years. That article: Agriculture Transformation:
Invest In Protecting Farmers’ Lives, Not GMO’s-
ENDS.ng; May 2014]
Dr. Adesina worked on increasing bank lending to farmers to buy fertilizer and seeds. His target: to increase lending from 2% to 10%. With fertilizer distribution totally privatized and seed sellers a private business controlled by the Bill Gates foundation, Monsanto’s and other world
producers, farmers cannot simply re-plant seeds
from the last harvest but take these bank loan
facilities to buy seed from Big corp. under the
Adesina legacy. Visit agriculturally crippled Ghana and Haiti to see the impact of New World Order, NWO and Genetically Modified Organisms, GMO control of food production.
In the process, with loan-dependent farming,
farmers are dependent on the banks; the Big
corp. makes big gains and the cost of food must
rise and be gambled away in futures and stock
markets.
Food in Nigeria is no longer priced by the simple
dynamics of rain fall and harvest but is controlled by banks, seed marketers and the stock market.
What Adesina has introduced to Nigeria is
artificial food and artificial pricing of food, food
becoming a business and business only as he
fantasizes.
Of course as we eat our more expensive and less
nutritious, possibly toxic food, we cannot simply
dismiss the entire ‘transformation’ of Adesina.
But we must be ready to face several certain
realities as Big corp. takes over our farming
industry.
1. As Nnimmo Bassey can most thoroughly
explain, expect more cancer, more sterility, more
ecological devastation and less nutritious food in
general. [Refer: Do Not Force-Feed Nigerians With GMOs By Nnimmo Bassey-SaharaReporters]
2. Expect the price of food to continue to rise
indefinitely.
3. Expect to see the cabal and Big corp. grow
more content and satiated as you get hungry.

Let's call a spade a spade because my visit in South Africa, and what I saw the Nigerians drug dealers doing there is appalling. Most Nigerians that were deported from around the globe for heinous crimes have made South Africa their haven.
By the way Nigeria did the same thing in 1982 to Ghanians, and the Ghanians did the same to Nigeria in 1957 during the time of Busia. Spin it anyway you want, there is enough of what a nation can take from criminal invaders! Killing the foreigners I do not support. Let everyone behave themselves! Destroy your own home not others!
Seriously we should think beyond the issues why all the uprising especially in Africa. These are bad products of evil and heartless so called leaders we have in Africa.

Politics / How Peter Obi Collected N27billion From Diezani And Betrayed Jonathan Instead by kemitwarrior: 4:51am On Apr 19, 2015
The noisy remnants of the colossal failure of the incumbent President at the presidential polls of March 28, 2015 may have begun to make its last exit from the national political scene but the intrigues surrounding the embarrassing lose may have only begun to leak out to the public terrain. This is as information available to 247ureports.com indicates the Deputy Director General of the Goodluck Jonathan presidential campaign organization – responsible for the operation in the south south and south east geopolitical zones in the person of Mr. Peter Obi is significantly responsible for the embarrassment suffered by President Jonathan on March 28, 2015.

As a caveat, shortly after the gubernatorial elections in Anambra State – that saw the victorious ascension of Willie Obiano of the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] to the seat of governor – Mr. Peter Obi announced his decampment from the APGA to the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] in a manner that saw the mighty chieftains of the PDP at his home Onitsha to receive him into the party. The decampment stole the headlines of many national news dailies and shocked many of the members of the APGA and those within PDP. Mr. Peter Obi had stated that he decided to join the PDP to help reelect President Jonathan. In return, the former governor of Anambra State under the APGA banner and now a PDP member was said to have been promised by President Jonathan a ministerial position – likely the Minister of Aviation – to replace the sacked Stella Odua. But the promise never materialized – largely owing to insistence by PDP chieftains from Anambra who threatened President Jonathan to drop the notion of appointing Mr. Peter Obi a minister from Anambra.

So as the preparations towards the presidential campaign fell into gear, and as President Jonathan set up his presidential campaign organization, Mr. Peter Obi was assigned in charge of the south east – and given the organizational title of deputy director general. Mr. Peter Obi became in charge of dissemination of resources and finances for all political activities within the said region – including on Election Day.

The beginnings of the betrayal by Peter Obi came when the Election Day plan was developed by a campaign team employed by the presidency to map out a strategy for victory at the polls. The campaign team were reported to comprise of former top officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] and of the Nigerian intelligence community. The team’s primary responsibility included coercion of voters and INEC workers at the polling units on March 28, 2015 through heavy financial inducement.

A competent source conversant with the activities within the presidency revealed to 247ureports.com the strategy employed. Varying amounts of monies were earmarked for polling units across the country. For the south south and south east geopolitical zones – which the team marked as green states – were earmarked for N300,000 per polling unit – while the polling units in the north central zone – which were marked as grey states – were earmarked N500,000 per polling unit. The team had targeted having a significantly bumped up voter turnout rate in the three geopolitical zones of south south, south east, and north central – to outbalance the expected poll figures from the north west and north east geopolitical zones.

Through this effect, the sum of N27billion was earmarked for the south east and south south – and was remitted to the deputy director general – Mr. Peter Obi – through the instrumentality of the minister of petroleum resources, Mrs. Diezani Allison Madueke. The money was remitted by Diezani Allison Madueke.

But on Election Day, the south east states did not deliver enough votes for the President. Mr. Peter Obi, according to PDP chieftains who participated in Anambra elections on March 28, 2015, failed to distribute the money as agreed in the plan. Only N30,000 was distributed instead of the N300,000. For this reason, the INEC polling officials were not as willing to bump up the poll numbers as was done in 2011. The numbers registered at the south east polling units averaged at 550,000 to 660,000 for the PDP per state against an available voter’s strength that averages a little below 2,000,000 for each of the south east states – equivalent to about 4,000,000 to 5,000,000 votes – enough to give the President the expected victory.

With the defeat of March 28, 2015, it became clear to many within the outer circles of the PDP of the betrayal that might have taken place. While the PDP stalwarts observed that the PDP senatorial and House of Representatives candidates were able to manipulate their results to an easy victory for the south east and south south states – the likes of Senator Andy Uba, Stella Odua and Uche Ekwunife – in Anambra State.

Some of the concerned PDP chieftains – the like of Arthur Eze and others – found the actions of Mr. Peter Obi as clear betrayal of the party and of their presidential candidate. He clearly pointed to Peter Obi as responsible for the failed execution of the planned strategy. He “kept the money” given to him. Other chieftains within the APGA in Anambra state who also supported President Jonathan’s reelection also found Mr. Peter Obi’s actions as betrayal. The Anambra State APGA chairman, Mike Kwento was unapologetically stern as he told 247ureports.com that Mr. Peter Obi had taken President Jonathan for a ‘419’ lesson. The national chairman of APGA was also unforgiving as he called Mr. Peter Obi as ‘gamester’ who seized on an opportunity to swindle the President.

Politics / The Simplicity, Contentment Of Buhari by kemitwarrior: 10:25am On Apr 18, 2015
By Levinus Nwabughiogu

Hardly will anyone argue that the contemporary Nigerian society is not such that is riddled with avarice and corruption.

Both the public and private sectors of the economy stink with stench of clandestine criminal activities. From the office of Local Government Councillor to the exalted office of nation’s President, looting of public treasury stands tall.

The evidence: Palatial houses, private jets, exotic cars, countless Chieftaincy titles, flamboyant foreign trips, properties at home and abroad, the list goes endlessly. In fact, it could be a taboo to occupy and exit office without embezzling public funds. But in the midst of all these, there is a Nigerian whose integrity resonates even with tearful testimonials. He is General Mohammadu Buhari. From east to west, north to south, he stands assuredly different from among folks.

Buhari meeeting speaking Journalists at his Dura home pressHe has occupied many exalted offices within the political hemisphere of Nigeria, yet available records show he did not selfishly enrich himself. Perhaps, the piece below intrinsically laced up with pictures of the country-side bungalow of Buhari in Daura, Katsina State tells the story more.

Getting a clearer shot of the building was a Herculean task. This is because which ever direction you chose to face, there was a piece of nature looking at you. Right from the main, and I think, the only entrance gate to the compound, nature stood, providing shade and convivial serenity that can only make one to appreciate God.

They stood, the trees and flowers of all kinds, heralding an environment that exudes grace, peace and love. And you cannot but also appreciate the different tunes of melodious sounds delivered by different birds that had nestle and periodically perch on top of the trees.Buhari meeeting speaking Journalists at his Dura home

Outside the compound also is a tank that supplies water to the people of the area. The Almajiris, the telekawas, young and old gather to drink water. People say he is a man filled with benevolence toward his fellow creatures.

Though there’s the presence of security men both in uniform and plain clothes, apparently because of his new status, movement around the vicinity does not appear discernibly restricted. And so, people mill around.

If such is the case when he is around, one can only imagine how freer one could be to walk around the area without restriction when he is away. But I wonder if anyone ever goes there unless he is around because, his presence is such that magnates crowds who always hail and cheer him.

Of course, many in his garb would have chosen to line up buildings, carve out special territories and then fortify them with motley of stern-looking security operatives that would bar people around the area, but that is not the case with him. Instead, he chooses to be close to nature in a bungalow that provides shelter for him and his family. Yes, a modest bungalo. Nothing extraordinary. Just a bungalo close to nature.

And that’s the abode of a man who was once a minister of Petroleum, a governor and once a Head Of State. That paints a good picture of Nigeria’s President-elect. That, alone, sends a signal.

Meeting with Journalists

It was in this natural setting, directly under the shade of a tree that he interacted with Journalists on two occasions. First on March 28 and and second on April 11, 2015.

Unlike most censored executive chats, these meetings exclusively featured off-the-scripts chats with questions emanating from all angles on the contemporary social and political issues.

For one, Journalists felt at home savoring the drinks, including fura du nunu and Kunu (locally made milky juices) that were presented to them after the hectic work of monitoring and covering the presidential/National assembly; Governorship/State assembly elections respectively. The chat was later to culminate into memorable snapshots with the host.

Offices held

With the help of hindsight, this simplistically-defined man is not just an ordinarily Nigerian. He rose from being a General Officer Commanding (GOC) a division in the Nigerian army to becoming a military governor of the Northeastern region consisting of today’s Adamawa,Gombe, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno and Taraba States down to a Federal Commissioner (position now called Minister) for Petroleum and Natural Resources in 1976. In December, 1983, he became Nigeria’s 7th Head of State.

That’s not all. He also served as the Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), a body created by the government of General Sani Abacha, and funded from the revenue generated by the increase in price of petroleum products, to pursue developmental projects around the country.

In all of those privileges, the man still chooses not to convert his home town, Daura in Katsina State to his personal estate with skyscrapers and intimidating edifices benefiting his elongated profile. Yet he preaches against corruption and self aggrandizement.

But in a manner that can only be adjudged mysterious after three consecutively failed attempts in the past, his “chi” has rewarded him. On March 28, 2015, Nigerians trooped out enmasse and voted him the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This all-important man is not hidden. His name is Mohammadu Buhari, a retired Major-General from the once prestigious Nigerian Army.

His words, his bond

Leaning on his hard earned integrity, Buhari during his campaign told Nigerians that if elected president, he would declare his assets and also encourage his lieutenants to do so even as he stated that all the political appointees would only earn salaries and allowances prescribed by the Revenue and Mobilization and Fiscal Allocation Commission, RMFAC. This he said in a pamphlet titled “I Pledge to Nigeria”.

He said: “I pledge to publicly declare my assets and liabilities, encourage all my appointees to publicly declare their assets and liabilities as a pre-condition for appointment. All political appointees will only earn the salaries and allowances determined by the RMFAC.”

With the elections won, one would think that Buhari would repudiate his own vow, but no. When reminded, he went down memory lane, chronicling the failures of successive governments at implementing that aspect of the constitution.

“I made a statement which has not been correctly captured by the media. I said that our generation, from Murtala, late Murtala made sure that those who had appointments must declare their assets and this was later articulated in the constitution. It is up to government to make sure that those who borrow money to build a house and end up with another house somewhere else with 50 bedrooms and 20 living rooms should explain to Nigerians how they got the money.

“I could recall that I declared my assets three times. The first time

was when I got my first political appointment as Governor of Borno state; secondly, when I was leaving government to go to the United States War College. I declared my assets then because I was closing my political chapter then technically. I could recall that Gen. Jemibewon was the Adjutant General of the Nigerian army then. I had to declare my asset, deposit it there to be taken to court before I was allowed to proceed to the United States for my course.

“The third one was when I became Head of State. From General Obasanjo down till now, those of us that were in the Supreme Military Council, Council of States, Executive Council and even those who were Permanent Secretaries, at the time we got our appointment, the courts should be made to produce our declarations. So, all this noise about people being rich and nobody is saying anything about it, why can’t you prick the conscience of the existing government or are some of you part of the cover up?”

He was telling journalists this in his Daura residence last Saturday.

Still relying on the sidelines of integrity, he also reportedly told Nigerians that he would not recognize the office of the First Lady when voted into office. This he stated on the basis that the office is not constitutionally recognized. But hardly had he made this comment than a deluge of reactions trailed it, prompting his wife, Aisha to concoct some euphemistic landing for him.

She said: “When my husband is elected as the president of this country, he will rule the country within the rule of law based on the constitution of the country. If the office of the first lady is constitutionally recognized, he will not tamper with it but if it is not that’s okay.

“For me I will perform my duties and role as the wife of the President of Nigeria traditionally. Wives of presidents have some traditional roles, like receiving guests, visiting orphanages, helping the less privileged people.”

On the heels of Buhari’s election as president, some eminent Nigerians spoke to Vanguard on the man. Apart from laudable testimonials about his person, one would obviously notice that Buhari is also a jolly good fellow as against his perceived unfriendly stance.

You can always bank on Buhari’s word — Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Edo State Governor

“I don’t think I am in the best position to answer this position but from my interactions with him, I think he is deeply concerned about Nigeria. Like he said in one of his interactions that people asked why wouldn’t he rest. If you care about this country, you can’t afford to rest when you see everything collapsing and people who fought to keep Nigeria one, they had dreams about what a large country can do not only for our people but for the continent.

“So, he has deep passion for our country. But he is also a very warm person. I don’t think that aspect is known to many and I can tell you that he has a very rich sense of humor. He wouldn’t talk too much the way some of us do but in the few words that he would share, you will see that they are loaded with wisdom. And he also believes that action should speak louder than words. And I am sure many people have increasingly come to see in the course of the electioneering campaign that he is a very happy family man. I don’t think many people know about this aspect.

“I think that Nigeria should expect a president that we can be proud of this time around. When he gives you his word, you can bank on it.

That is important. He has the liver to make decision and the clarity as to where Nigeria should go and the will to get things done and provide leadership necessary to drive radical changes.”

We want Buhari to be a Nigerian leader, not a regional leader —Aminu Bello Masari, Former Speaker, House of Representatives and Governor-Elect, Katsina State

“We are not meeting with Buhari on the platform of political party alone. We have a long standing relationship and now, we have a political relationship.

That Buhari is from Katsina state for us, is a plus and that plus depends on how we manage it. We want Buhari to be a Nigerian leader. We don’t want Buhari to be a regional, zonal or provincial leader.

“We want him to be a Nigerian leader that will leave a legacy of positive contribution to this country and that is the basis on which people elected him.

So, we will help him to maintain and improve on those qualities which the people of Nigeria see in him. We will never do anything that will tarnish his image, his reputation or his standing internationally and nationally. So, for us, Buhari is plus. When we go somewhere and say I am from Katsina, we want the doors to be open. So for us, it is a plus.”

Money is not everything, integrity is —Engr. Mustapha Bukar, Katsina North Senator-Elect

“His credentials speak for themselves and so, I don’t think that it is necessary to continue to hammer on that.

He has said it many times and everybody knows the positions he has held in this country. He told the world at the National Convention where he emerged as candidate that he has no money and it was based on his ideals that he was able to get the ticket of APC.

“So, the issue of corruption is real and everybody knows that in Nigeria, most of the institutions are not working.

They are not working because the system that is supposed to be in place to make them work is not being respected. If you don’t follow due process and the rules, it will be very difficult to get anything moving. So, it is like a moving train that is slowing down. I am sure that he will find the strength with the support of all Nigerians to get that train moving once again.

Last line

To him, a new era has begun. Old things had passed away and all things would be made new from May 29.

For man of 72 years old who had occupied various exalted public offices in the past before now, no manner of enticement, pecks or paraphernalia of office may make him veer off the pathway of discipline and integrity. What this means is that Nigerians would just have to embrace change from the old, crude, criminal ways to the era of discipline and patriotism. Failure of this, may take some to a dungeon for Buhari may not comprise his hard earned integrity. But then, the whole world is watching.

Press statement from the office of Sen. Bukola Saraki
The attention of Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki’s media office has been drawn to an online article alleging that the controversial Minister of Petroleum. Ms Deiziani Allison Madueke who has been engulfed in series of questionable transactions made contribution to the All Progressives Congress through Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki.

This office usually will ignore such reports as we find it completely laughable, baseless and lacking any iota of truth. However, for the avoidance of any doubt and to keep with the renewed mandate of accountability and transparency, we find it necessary to assure the teaming Supporters of APC and Senator Saraki that at no time did Senator Bukola Saraki meet, discuss or had any dealings in any form or nature with Ms Deiziani or her agents.

Senator Saraki hereby challenges either the Minister, her agent, associates or any other person that might have any evidence or information contrary to the above to share same with Nigerians.

The last time Senator Saraki met with Ms Deiziani was in year 2012 when the Minister, her mother and her sister visited the Sarakis’ on a condolence visit over the death of Dr. Olusola Saraki, the father of Senator Saraki.
The alleged publication is total falsehood and completely mischievous therefore, this story can not fly or sell, rather, the promoter should find something else to cling on as they remain with a drowning party.
The credit of the success of General Buhari, and our dear party APC across the country can only be claimed by Nigerians in every nook and cranny of the federation who sacrificed their resources, time and energy to bring about the change this country deserves and that should not be tainted by any individual or group of people who stood as stumbling block to every step taken towards achieving this noble and worthy struggle.

Politics / N/west Abandons Senate Presidency, Seeks Senate Leader Slot by kemitwarrior: 6:40am On Apr 17, 2015
With calculations and permutations on-going among caucuses in the Senate on how to position their zones for principal offices, the North West, bearing in mind that the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, is from Katsina State in the North West, has decided to drop out of the race for Senate president and settle for the office of the Senate leader in the Eighth assembly.

The North West geo-political zone voted in the highest number of All Progressives Congress (APC) senators, numbering up to 20, in the March 28 senatorial election.

Many of the senators-elect are freshers to the Senate, while eight are ranking, having been elected to the chamber at least twice before. Others have previously been members of the House of Representatives where they ranked as members of the chamber. According to the rules of the Senate, only ranking members can vie for leadership positions.

Those in the category of former House members include senators-elect Bala Ibn Na’Allah from Kebbi State and governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Returning members from Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara are Senators Kabiru Gaya (Kano), Adamu Aliero (Kebbi), Abu Ibrahim (Katsina), Ahmed Ru’fai Sani (Zamfara), Kabir Marafa (Zamfara) and Ibrahim Gobir (Sokoto.)

But the ranking rule favours Senators Sani, Marafa, Gaya and Adamu Aliero ahead of the others, as they have been in the chamber for more than two terms.
Politics / Beware Of Obasanjo, Owie Tells Buhari by kemitwarrior: 5:26am On Apr 17, 2015
Senator Rowland Owie, former Chief Whip of the Senate, has advised President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), to avoid former President Olusegun Obasanjo, if he desires to succeed as Nigeria’s leader.

Owie, who gave the advice in a statement, yesterday in Benin City, Edo State, said: “To Buhari, I thank God for you, but you must deliver on your promises and also build on what President Goodluck Jonathan did. Above all, you must run far from Obasanjo. If he can’t control your government, he will fight you.

“He has done it to all former Presidents of Nigeria and even against MKO Abiola who was not sworn in. Never discuss with Obasanjo unless you have at least two of your aides present.

“Half way into the tenure of President Jonathan, Obasanjo started trouble making by naming presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

“Firs,t it was Governor Sule Lamido as president and Governor Rotimi Amaechi as his deputy. A respectable Lamido, a founding father of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP while Obasanjo was in prison, was being urged to fight PDP.”

aresa:

The fact that you troop into a place for survival and daily bread means the place was already economically made and socially advanced for you to survive in and if it wasn't you and your people won't be heading there for anything.

Fact is, dirtying up the environment and constituting nuisance all over the place just to make money is not development and even with the illogical development talk, why not just stay in your own states and develop them?

Below is what they call development in their villages.

Ariaria International Market to be exact... Complete nuisance... smh..

Politics / Igbo's Didn't Make Lagos, Lagos Made The Igbo's by kemitwarrior: 8:25am On Apr 13, 2015
"Igbo's Didn't make Lagos, Lagos Made the
Igbo's".~By Akin Ajayi Obe.
-Most Igbos say they are the people that
developed Lagos and made Lagos what it is
today. They say without Igbos, Lagos is finished.
And I keep wondering how have Igbos helped in
shaping and developing Lagos?
“Lets get the fact right, Igbos didn't develop
Lagos rather, it is Lagos that shaped and made
the Igbos what they are today. Without Igbos in
Lagos, Lagos will remain Lagos and without
Lagos, most Igbos may likely be nothing.
“Reason for my assertion is that most giant and
top companies that attract millions of people
across the country to Lagos are not owned by the
Igbos so, how have Igbos shaped and developed
Lagos?
“These are the achievements and economic
advancement Igbos gave Lagos and Lagosians;
Tokunbo and Fake Spare Parts at Ladipo Market,
China Electronics and Pirated CDs at Alaba
Market, Bend-Down and Select Clothes at
Idumota, Yaba and Kotangowa Markets, Chinese
and Tokunbo Computer/Phones and Accessories
at Computer Village Ikeja are Igbos economical
achievements and contributions to Lagos. In fact,
most Igbos are causing nuisances in Lagos. A
visit to these markets will tell you the amount of
nuisances that Most Igbos have caused in Lagos.
The environments these Igbo traders are mostly
populated are always polluted with waste of all
sorts, they are dirty, stinking, rough, erect illegal
shops on the roads, on pipeline and railway lines
indiscriminately in these market places that cause
traffic gridlocks and other dangerous situations
and when Lagos State Government dismantles
these illegal shops, they get angry. If Lagos State
Government closes their shops for environmental
violations, they pick offence. How then have the
Igbos developed Lagos?.... think on these......
“As far as I am concerned, PZ, COCA-COLA, 7UP,
CADBURY, MTN, ZAIN, GLO, ETISALAT, DANGOTE,
SHOP-RITE, GOLDEN PENNY, FLOUR MILL,
INDOMIE, UNILEVER, P&G, CHI LIMITED,
GUINNESS, NIGERIA BREWERIES, OANDO,
CONOIL, TOTAL, MOBIL, CHEVRON, SHELL, KFC,
AQUADANA, EKO HOTEL, INTER CONTINENTAL
HOTEL, PROTEA HOTEL, JULIUS BERGER, RCC
CONSTRUCTION, NESTLE, KPMG, GSK,
FRIESLAND FOODS, WAMCO, BRITISH AMERICA
TOBACCO, SCHLUMBEGER, AIT, SILVERBIRD TV,
CHANNELS TV, LARFARGE, etc are not owned by
the Igbos. These companies are what attracted
millions of people to Lagos.
“Igbos shouldn't lay claim that they developed a
place by becoming nuisances. Most of the top
Churches in Lagos are not also owned by Igbos.
House on the Rock, Redeemed Christian Church of
Christ, Christ Embassy, Deeper Life, Living Faith,
MFM, etc are not owned by Igbos. The only
Church that's reasonably big and is owned by an
Igbo man is TREM, while another Igbo Church,
Lord Chosen Church, encourages nuisance in
Lagos and it also doubles as the dirtiest Church
in Lagos.
“Records show that 75% of robbery cases in
Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 85% of ritual
cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 60% of
drug cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos, 70%
of fraud cases in Lagos are carried out by Igbos,
90% of pirated CD cases in Lagos are carried out
by Igbos, 60% of fake and adulterated drugs in
Lagos that have killed thousands of Lagosians
are carried out by Igbos, in fact, most of the
crimes in Lagos are connected to the Igbos, so
how have the Igbos developed Lagos when they
can't get their hands off crime?
“There's no Igbo man among the top three
richest people in Nigeria, so how are they
successful?
“The truth is that Igbos should be grateful that
the Yorubas accommodated them in Lagos
peacefully, they shouldn't take the meekness and
kindness of the Yorubas for granted.
“Igbos didn't make Lagos but it is actually Lagos
that made Igbos.” End of discussion! ......
