Agricultural input suppliers in Benue State have written to Governor Hyacinth Alia, saying the unpaid 2024 subsidies have caused them severe hardship. A group of contractors who supplied agricultural inputs during the 2024 cropping season in Benue State have issued a passionate appeal to Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia over the prolonged non-payment of government subsidies owed to them. In a formal letter addressed to the Governor and dated June 24, the contractors expressed deep frustration, stating that multiple attempts to seek resolution from relevant authorities have yielded no results. The group revealed that the prolonged delay in payments has led to devastating consequences for many of its members. According to the letter, one contractor has died, others are suffering from critical health conditions such as stroke, some are in police detention due to debts, while many have lost personal properties to creditors. “The ordeal we are facing is so painful and unimaginable. Our lives are seriously endangered,” the letter states, calling for urgent intervention from the state government. The contractors emphasized that the accumulating interest on loans used to finance the input supply continues to increase their burden. They warned that without immediate payment, many of them may face total financial collapse. In the letter, the group also referenced an earlier intention to seek legal redress but noted that out of respect and support for the Governor’s administration, they chose to delay court action. However, they signaled that their patience has reached its limit. “We most respectfully inform you, Sir, that if we don’t get paid in a week’s time from this date, we shall be left with no option than to head to the court. Most frankly, we pray it doesn’t get to this level.” While expressing sympathy for the insecurity currently affecting the state, the contractors reaffirmed their willingness to support the government where needed, but stressed that the immediate payment of the subsidy would not only save their businesses but also reinforce public confidence in the state’s leadership. “Heeding to our plea will help us both in settlement of our debts and also revive our families that have been drastically affected. This payment will as well promote the integrity of your government as one that honours agreement.” The letter concluded with a message of goodwill to the Governor, wishing him good health and strength in his leadership responsibilities. The contractors, who signed as 2024 Agricultural Input Suppliers in Benue State, are urging the government to act swiftly, emphasizing that failure to do so would force them to pursue legal means to seek redress.

It just a pity how gullible most Nigeria's are, just like that someone appear from no where and promise to give grant of N10,000000 to more than 15,000000 Nigeria just like that without under going Any test, training, skill acquisition program or auditioning and without the consent on the Federal Government? Issokay 2017 has come and pass nothing happened, march 2018 is going yet no time frame for disbursement and 2018 slowly and steady passing by, we are watching. The question you people are not asking is that where is the money coming from after world bank has open denounced the knowledge or support for these programs or grant. They may also tell you that the money may or will come from social exchange market which is what they are preaching now, ishiba, Bethany, sunlight City, hunterinternational amongst other claims to be fronting for World Bank, Development Bank of Nigeria, and world charity org. Or some sort of social exchange market. All these are lies, non of such agreement exist between these NGOs and these organisations. Most Nigerian NGOs are scam, and fraud stars that why international funding has ceased, the only way they can generate funds now is to scam unemployed Nigerians by collecting registration fee, certificate fees and processing fees of between N500 to N3500 . Investigations shows that so far 15million Nigerians have registered all in the name of collecting grant. The funds collected so far is running into hundreds of millions which once in a while the organisers can spend couple of millions to organise seminars, workshop, church fellowship, pay coordinators and do some philanthropic work to convince gullible customers that the grant is for real. As a matter of fact before the end of the year, some organisers and coordinators of the scam have perfected how they are going to leave the country as soon as their lies expires. While some are currently running money laundry cases with EFCC. Those that have paid all these fees so far can afford to forfeit couple of N1k to 3.5k but dashed hope and time wasted can be so painful. I feel so sorry from the local coordinators that may not have where to run to and would have to bear consequences of those that will run abroad. |
By: Engr Ekenzuwa Philip I am neither surprised nor worried by " their" hatred for Buhari... rats and a cat can never live in the same place. Too many things divide and draw heavy distinctions between PMB and his haters: He loves Nigeria , they hate it. He thinks of Nigerians, they think of themselves and family. He is honest, they are dishonest. He has character, they lack it. He pursues the Hereafter they struggle to have the world in their armpits. He is patriotic, they are greedy and selfish. He serves, they derail and enslave. He is devoid of moral stains, they are immorality personified. His past is clean and shinny, their past hunts them. They are thieves, he catches thieves. They have stolen, he wants to get back the loots. They are insects and pests, he is a powerful and effective insecticide. Fear fears him, they are afraid. They are running, Buhari is in hot pursuit. They call for division, he works on unity. They say Boko Haram, he calls Nigeria. They want Biafra, he chooses Nigeria. They shout Niger Delta, he advocates Nigeria. They shared money for arms, he is retrieving the money and buying the arms. They sponsored insurgency, he is defeating insurgency. They are like gel, he is the fire melting them. They make the noise , Buhari does the work. They are destroyers, he is a constructor. They are wailing and weeping and crying, the man is smiling, shaking, organising and hugging poor folks. How can they love him? The more they hate him, the more we love him. The more they fear, the more we feel secured. I can not choose a rusted iron and leave gold. Buhari has chosen Nigeria and I have chosen him. |
Please let me explain to those of us who don't understand Economic terms. Dollar has not increased since Buhari became president 1. Dollar is not our currency so dollar should not be our business 2. Our problem is not d government but our problem is our importers and consumers 3. Naira has remained at 197 naira to 1 dollar since Buhari became president 4. Buhari has promised not to devalue the Naira and he has maintained that promise 5. Both at CBN and at interbank rates, dollar has remained 197 6. However because we are too lazy to produce what we use in Nigeria we import even toothpicks and matches 7. Buhari does not like d importation of luxury goods because luxury goods is d reason for most corruption, that is why he banned 41 products from having access to forex 8. However when Nigerian importers insisted on importing those 41 products, FG asked them to find their dollar at d BDCs parallel market also known as black market 9. And to discourage the pressure Nigerians are mounting on the Naira just to get dollars for importation, CBN banned DMBs from selling dollars to BDCs 10. To survive the pressure of excess dollar demands, BDCs resorted to sourcing for dollars from neighbouring countries through illicit money laundering routes 11. Because of the risks faced by BDCs to source for dollars, and because of the increase in demand for dollars by importers because China just resumed from their business holidays, BDCs keep increasing the price at which they exchange dollars to naira and now it is 400 naira to 1 dollars 12. However that does not mean that govt has changed the exchange rate because if our genuine importers go to CBN and fill Form M to import raw materials for local production, they will get dollars at 197 naira each 13. So the problem is that we love to consume luxury foreign products yet we are too lazy to manufacture them here. 14. For example u will see a dull girl using iPhone 5 without even knowing simple physics and computer engineering part of how that phone was produced 15. I want Buhari to ban every foreign product from Nigeria until Nigerians learn to produce and use Made in Nigeria products 16. Let us stop complaining about dollar as if dollar has become Nigeria's currency 17. It is even bad enough that most of those complaining about the high exchange rate of dollar do not have 1 single dollar in their purse. |
Just thinking aloud; “I wonder what President Jonathan will be remembered for after leaving office on the 29th of May 2015”. In the last 6 years, have we really had a government at all? Barely few months, few weeks, and few days to end of the this administration, Nigeria’s has come to experience more hardship than ever as result of a total breakdown of governance and government institutional systems, these shows that President Jonathan was only in charge because Nigerian money was working for him, he was never in charge authoritatively but was only using government money to intimidate his subject to do his bids, otherwise how can one explain within the remaining lapse of his tenure and administration, petroleum products has suddenly dried up in all filling station across the nation, the whole nation is in total blackout no more power even as it was epileptic; suddenly news of Federal Government and States owing several months of unpaid salaries is/are filtering around, suddenly a PDP stalwart Kashamu Baruje will be extradited to the US to face drug crime charges yet this same man has been the inner caucus of the President? Suddenly Nigeria debt profile both internally and externally has rose to $63 billion, suddenly all oil and gas worker are on strike just few weeks to the end of this administration? Suddenly President Jonathan has been firing and hiring, does this mean he was just a President because he was seating on Nigerian common wealth? Now that he has to leave, governance has suddenly broken down Jonathan government must be the most corrupt government in the whole history of Nigeria ever, we have been leaving under fake government for the past 6years because Jonathan has to bribe certain cabal for fuel to be available in filling stations or how else does one explains fuel subsidy? Jonathan gave authority to NERC to charge Nigerians high electricity bill to see public power which has more or less become standby power and our personal generator are sources n is the centre must still hold and as long as May 29th is yet to come, President Jonathan is still in charge but nothing seems to be working. Never forget that Nigerians are shallow minded, because President Jonathan will not be remembered for any achievement of the last 6years if any at all but would only be remember for how he manages Nigeria in the days that precedes his exit, by all indices the president has fail because under his watch Nigerians are queuing up to buy fuel at N300 to N400 per litre, power generation has dropped below 2000mega watts nationwide. The ACP government has to come and build our government institutions, the failures of the Otuoke born fisherman and Zoologist who found himself in the office of the presidency by luck should not be an excuse. A Daura made General and a farmer should do better and prove to Nigerians that government institutions can work again, Ex-president Obasanjo would be remembers for piloting OUR democracy after long military ruler ship, for institutionalizing GSM and telecom business in Nigeria, for securing debt relief for Nigeria to the tune of $38billion and for being power drown while in office for 8years Late president Yaradua would be remember for bringing back peace and amnesty program TO the Niger delta which till date is a success, he would be remember for signing into law the bill that increase the Nigerian workers minimum wage from N7500 to N52000 but was later reduced to N18500 by President Jonathan. President yaradua would have been one of the best Nigeria elected president for his adherence to rule of law but unfortunate he was short leaved. President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan!! HMmmmm, I just wonder what he will be remembered for, Apart from been the president that conceded early defeat in elections in Africa, He would be remember as a president that spend the high sum of dollars to return to office but failed because the people vote counted. He would be remember as the president who could not control his wife and the president who allow individuals to control his government., a president who is so naïve at taking action when it matter most, a president who institutionalize corruption and run over the most corrupt government in the history of Nigeria and much more. What would President Muhammadu Buhari be remember for? Time will tell. I pray Nigeria never see this kind of government again under President Jonathan again. May 29th is in few days yet looks so far away, I just can t wait for this government to pack and go forever. |
I hope Idomas and the generality of zone C citizen in Benue state will not be regretting voting for Sen. David Mark to serve them for another 4years as a senator. David Mark has spent 16 years a senator of the federal republic, 8 years out of which he is/was a senate president. 8years as a senator he has nothing to show for it in the whole of his senatorial district and 8years as senate president yet no road, no industry his zone has the highest rate of poverty in the whole of Benue state. If he hasn't achieve anything as a 8years serving senator and 8 years as a senate president of the federal republic, I just wonder what he will change as an ordinary senator while returning to the senate chamber by may 29th. My advice is Sen. D. mark remember the zone c vote has give you another life line of another 4years to do the needful and change the life of your people, it a rear chance that can be given to any Nigerian, one thing is sure you have 4 years to re-write your story by 2019 if God keeps you alive you would have spent 20years as a senator and one if not the oldest served senator in Nigeria. You may never be return again in 2019. By then the laws of karma would have set in. Idoma’s you have another 4 years to access D. MARK as an ordinary senator if he will perform or not so watch wisely. |
