3. Ginger requires a warm temperature between 30-35°C.

4. Mulching ginger with green leaves is essential to enhance germination of seed rhizomes.

5. Mulching also helps to control weeds. It helps to add organic matter and conserve moisture.

6. To enable easy harvesting of the crop, the land should be ploughed thoroughly, forming raised beds.

7. Planting ginger in rotation with other crops like maize helps to control the spread of pests and diseases.

8. Ginger planting should be done late in the dry season, or early wet season as in tropical countries like Nigeria and Uganda.

9. After harvest, the best way of preserving ginger is by drying.
