Nairaland / General / Crowds Throng Ikeja Electric’s Medical Outreach by Kensense: 10:01am On Oct 13, 2017
A large number of residents of communities under Ikeja Electric's network thronged the company's Oshodi Business Unit and Egbeda Undertaking to participate in the free medical outreach organized by Ikeja Electric in partnership with XT Monitor and US Medical Mission Group. The outreach focused on free treatment of diabetes, hypertension and other non-communicable diseases.

A rep for the company said that the company is really big on giving back to the Community. He said wellness of their customers impacts them directly. If they are sick and unable to fend for themselves because of ailments, we all lose. "Look around you, these residents are from Ejigbo, Oshodi, Isolo, Jakande, Okota and other areas around and some are here from even more further away. Healthcare doesn’t come cheap these days and so IE is proud to partner with XT Monitor and our friends from the US Medical Mission to bridge that gap in our own little way” he concluded.

Nairaland / General / NERC Directive For Maximum Demand Customers Only Says Ikeja Electric by Kensense: 9:15am On Jun 12, 2017
News has been making rounds that NERC has directed customers not to pay their electricity bills if they have not been metered. Well Ikeja Electric has come out to clarify what this statement means. The DisCo said that the directive was only meant for un-metered Maximum Demand customers. Maximum Demand customers refers to those who consume more than 50KVA on a monthly basis. 90%-95% of those who fall under this description are commercial customers (hotels, office complexes, factories, etc.) and more often than not have their own dedicated transformers. Customers who don't fall under this category are classified as Non-MD (Non Maximum Demand) customers and are usually on public transformers. Their tariffs are also different and slightly higher. If you are a Non-MD customer you are still expected to pay your bills.

Politics / Re: Does Ikeja Electric Disco Have The Power And Right To Do This To Any Customer? by Kensense: 3:38pm On May 22, 2017
Everyone is so quick to point to the announcement of outage for one month on the 4th of March. The truth is that light was even better during that period in some of the affected areas than it as before. Because outage doesn't mean blackout rather an interruption of usual service. So you still have to pay for the light you got during the period. I also know that if you are contesting your bill you can go to IE's offices and make a case for it be reviewed.
