Eden Hazard opens up on international duty

As is so often the way during an international break, Eden Hazard has spoken to Belgium TV station RTL and has been very open about a number of subjects.

The headline quote on Belgium websites from the Chelsea star is Hazard saying: “It would be a dream to be trained by [Zinedine] Zidane.”

Hazard was his usual relaxed self on Belgium TV ahead of friendly matches against Mexico and Japan.



Hazard discusses the World Cup, being captain of Belgium & best memory in football

On the 2018 World Cup, Hazard said: “We are obviously impatient to participate in such a competition, but the most important thing will be to have a good club season before seriously preparing for the World Cup. We want to go as far as possible and do better than last time when we reached the quarter-final. ”

Hazard also spoke about his role as captain of Belgium: “It’s already great to be able to wear the jersey of Belgium and it’s nice to be given this kind of responsibility. Players like Kompany and Vertonghen have worn the armband before me, it means a lot.”

Hazard was asked about his best memory in football: “The double achieved with Lille in 2011 is a very strong moment because nobody expected it, it was really not thought possible.”

Spanish giants Barcelona have today been linked with a move for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Gifted stopper

30-year-old central defender Luiz is currently enjoying his second spell at Stamford Bridge, having made his comeback to the club from PSG for a fee of around £34 million last summer.



While his return was originally met with mixed reviews from fans of the club, his signing proved to be an inspired piece of business from Antonio Conte and co., as Luiz performed brilliantly at the heart of the Blues’ defence for the entirety of last season.

The former Benfica man proved crucial in helping Chelsea to secure the Premier League title, with it having been widely agreed that the formerly-impulsive stopper had finally matured into the top-class defender that he had so long shown glimpses of being.

Imminent departure?

However, the current campaign has proven a very different story, with the struggles endured by Chelsea’s backline to this point in the season having coincided with a dip in form for Luiz.

The South American was dropped for the Blues’ recent Premier League clash with Manchester United, with Antonio Conte admitting after his side’s 1-0 victory that he is no longer certain of Luiz’s place at the club:

‘I don’t know [if he has a future at Chelsea], he has to work really hard with the others, otherwise they are on the bench or in the stand.’

Unsurprisingly, Conte’s admission led to immediate links between Luiz and a number of Europe’s top clubs, with La Liga giants Barcelona the latest side touted as a potential destination for the Selecao international.

Paris Saint Germain star Neymar Jr broke down during a press conference with Brazil manager Tite this morning and here’s why.

The Brazilian star has been under the spotlight for a number of months now and several reports have documented issues in Paris.

The first of which came in the form of a rift with striker Edinson Cavani, with reports still not even going away to this day.

Now, the latest is of his relationship with PSG manager Unai Emery with reports suggesting the pair do not get on.

Finally, reports this week have even spoken of a potential move to Real Madrid which would be sensational, to say the least.

Today, it all got to be too much for the player who ‘exploded with rage’ in response to some of these questions.

He swiftly denied all reports including his relationship with Cavani, Emery and a Real Madrid move.

Though, what really got him emotional was his international manager’s input on the whole situation.

Brazil boss Tite jumped to the defence on his star man and that had Neymar in tears before hugging him and walking off.



“We have been working together for a year and a half, and I’m tired of hearing that Tite has problems with Neymar,” he explained.

“We are not perfect, we are human beings and sometimes we react in the wrong way.

“It happened to me in my career, is it wrong?

“There are a number of circumstances to take into account and we must be careful not to generalise.

“We should be talking about the character, nature and the great heart that Neymar has.”

Tyson, 51, was put him on a flight home, the Investigative Police (PDI) said.

Local media reported that the former world heavyweight champion was planning to attend an awards ceremony for action films taking place in Santiago, Chile’s capital.

 
 
“Detectives from the International Police are re-boarding Mike Tyson for not complying with immigration law,” the PDI said on its verified Twitter account on Thursday, alongside a photograph of Tyson walking in an airport with two individuals wearing PDI jackets.

The PDI did not specify which part of the law Tyson did not comply with, and did not immediately respond to an email and a phone call seeking additional information.

 
Tyson served three years of a six-year U.S. jail sentence for rape in 1992.

In 2012, New Zealand revoked an entry visa for Tyson after a charity that was going to benefit from his visit dropped its support due to his rape conviction.

It is said that the Argentina international had a close relationship with Neymar – both on and off the field.

Together, the duo helped Barcelona win La Liga twice in four years.

And they also combined to fire the club to Champions League glory under former boss Luis Enrique in 2015.

Messi supposedly feels lonely without his close friend.

Diario Gol also claim that Messi has two huge signings in mind to help Barcelona recover from the loss of the 25-year-old.

He supposedly has spoken to Valverde and club president Josep Maria Bartomeu about deals for Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann.

Barcelona tried repeatedly to sign Coutinho from Liverpool but were unable to convince the Reds to let the playmaker go.

Griezmann, meanwhile, is on their radar after seeing a move to Manchester United collapse in the summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly fuming with Isco according to reports in Spain, via the Mirror, because the creative star failed to thank Ronaldo quickly enough when he assisted the Spaniard.

Isco didn’t get over to Ronaldo quickly enough, and now the player who gets accused of failing to assist and care about other players on the field as much as he cares about his own personal form – but it seems that when he does assist, he expects to get thanked right away – despite automatically not doing so when it comes to his own teammates.

While Ronaldo may not be upset about Isco – in the eyes of Ramos at least – it seems he is annoyed about the fact he isn’t scoring, and Karim Benzema is in a similarly bad mood.

That’s according to skipper Sergio Ramos, who thinks that the team are not worried about the lack of goals from their two star players – because they will come at some point.

The club need their star players to step up their game and fast, and Ronaldo has reportedly told his teammates not to worry because he thinks he will end the season top scorer in La Liga – but for now, things are not going his way.

“Cristiano goes home upset when he doesn’t score, but he does make a difference,” Ramos told Movistar Partidazo. “Cristiano and Karim [Benzema] will score goals soon enough.

“We do not worry if they have only scored a few goals because they both make a difference and what matters is winning.”
