Wan Biafra goes, the yorubas and hausa cannot co-exist because their friendship is for one purpose to intimidate the igbos.the yorubas joined the hausas because they are chameleons they have no stand and are always identifying with the person in power , if power changes hands today to the igbos the yorubas will shift their allegiance to the igbos.a man who is unstable as water has no future. look at what happened to rueben in the bible.he lost it all. as much as iam not a tribalist ,i have this to say.the yorubas are unstable, can be water ,ice ,gas at any time. the igbos are industrious and leaders in commerce chasing after money. because they have been marginilised even when they are educationally qualified they are not given jobs, so they devised their own means of survival.which have been termed as greed by same people who marginilised them. |
They thought that by reducing the size of the land mass and the population of the Igbo ethnic group, that they will contain the situation. It is now that it is dawning on them that it isn’t really the Igbo ethnic group that is the problem, that it is the minorities within the Eastern region who felt that they are being marginalised because before the oil came, we had no trouble in the Eastern region.” |
Reason for this is that Biafra is not a child of Igbo origin. It is a child of the marriage among the five major ethnic groups in the Eastern region and the day that she was born, she was a child of circumstance. Circumstances arising out of Gowon’s attempt to dismember the Eastern region by creating Rivers and South Eastern states. Immediately after that pronouncement, the five ethnic groups making up the Eastern region brought Biafra to being. That day, Biafra became the operational word of the Eastern Army.” |
MASSOB leaderComrade Uchenna Madu is the Director of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB). He spoke with Jude Ossai and Josephine Aganu in Enugu on the recent 10th anniversary of the movement and why there is no end to agitation for an independent state of Biafra, among other issues. Excerpts: How did the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra’s (MASSOB’s)10th anniversary go and what is the state of its agitation now? MASSOB’s 10th anniversary was well celebrated. We held the anniversary on September 13. The programmes of the anniversary included, among others, church services, life band, public processions and football matches across Biafra territory. We gave gifts to the less-privileged in orphanages. We also visited motherless babies’ homes and gave them clothes and other gift items. Our activities are still going on as MASSOB is a non-violent organisation. We strive to maintain our non-violence stance in all our approaches in actualising Biafra Republic. There is no time frame in realising this project. How does the group intend to realise the dream of having a sovereign state within a sovereign state? We have about 25 stages to cover through which we shall realise our dream of a sovereign state of Biafra. This involves building regionalism. That is building governmental structures in Biafra land. Now, we have a de facto government of Biafra. We have appointed regional administrators numbering 40 who are equivalent to the serving civilian governors in the East. Each region has 30 directors on areas like agriculture, information, sports, finance etc. We also have administrators, provisional administrators and district officers as well as commissioners and ward officers. Equally, we have national directors who are equivalent to ministers. With this on ground, we have two governments in Biafraland. One is representing the Republic of Nigeria and the other represents Biafra Republic. The Nigerian government is de jure. But the de jure of Nigerian government is diminishing each passing day. For example, when we (MASSOB) declared a sit-at-home order, people obeyed us even when the Nigerian government countered it. Another example is the issue of Biafran currency. People have come to embrace it as legal tender. The Biafran international passport is in operation. In fact, the Biafran project is on course and nobody can crush the dream. On Biafra we stand. No retreat no surrounder. Are you aware that it appears that people are afraid of using the Biafra currency in the market, despite your claim? Perhaps, it is because the Biafran currency we introduced was the old one. We shall introduce new Biafran currency at the appropriate time. However, the Biafran currency is still being used in countries like Ghana, Republic of Benin and Togo. Activities of Biafra in recent times seem to be dying down. Can this be attributed to the leadership crisis and clampdown on MASSOB members by the authorities? Honestly, there is no leadership crisis in MASSOB. We are all committed to the struggle, despite consistent plans by the Federal Government’s agents to infiltrate our ranks. There is no going back on the Biafran project. Biafra activities are not going back. We have just held our 10th anniversary across Biafraland. Biafra is a revolution and it is indestructible because God, history and humanity are on our side. By the last count, 1,300 of our members have died through Nigeria’s agents. I am happy to tell you that right now, Nigeria as an entity has collapsed. The United States of America (USA), through its intelligence agency called Africom, has predicted that Nigeria would collapse before 2013. The USA is expected to send 20,000 soldiers to Biafraland (Gulf of Guinea) and Niger Delta region to safeguard America’s oil interest and the people of Biafra from any possible attack by the Nigerian government. The first batch is already in the Niger Delta and Eastern part of Nigeria. The entity, Nigeria, will split into six independent states. Each of the six geopolitical zones will become an independent state. It cannot be reversed because the United Nations (UN) has come to understand that Nigeria as an entity is a camouflage because of its numerous crisis. The general clamour is that we are not one. What happened in USSR will take place in Nigeria. Biafra, Oduduwa, Arewa and others will emerge. back |
In times like this we dearly remember eminent sons and daughters of Biafra. The name Kalu reminds us of an eminent Biafran, Prof Kalu Ezera who was brutally murdered by Nigerian troops under the command of General Obasanjo several days after the official end of the Biafra-Nigeria war. May his soul rest in peace. Today Biafra has hundreds of thousands of highly educated, intelligent, honest, dedicated, selfless men and women who are ready at short notice to help build an enviable society that will be a model for Africa and the world. Agberos and Judases will not be welcomed. |
Biafrans want their religious, press, individual and other freedoms. Biafrans want their liberty, self-determination, social and economic justice, equal opportunity and above all the freedom to organize a civilized upwardly mobile society, determine their own future and pursue their destiny. Those of you who believe in being slaves, cavorting, prostrating, licking the asses of your masters in the Evil Empire, should take your prostituting dunce caps to Nigeria. Dress like clowns, don your dunce caps and go up North to the headquarters of the Evil Empire. There, dance around in circles like the fools that you rightly are for the entertainment of your Hausa/Fulani slave-masters and the joy of the Evil Empire. Dance until you foam from the mouth. Then princes of the Evil Empire will throw thirty pieces of silver at you and then kick your butts into the open sewers that criss-cross this Evil Empire. You have seen it before, but in case you have forgotten, ask Alex, Onu, Evan, Chuba, etc. We leave you with these parting words. He who the Gods want to destroy, they first make mad. The fly that does not have an adviser gets buried with the stinking corpse |
It is a pity that crooked rich men often continue to be crooked. Their curse is that they will never be satisfied. They will sell even their own children for money and power. That is why forever they remain wretched vultures in spirit. Yes, some of our Ndi Igbo wants to jump to the vice-presidency of Nigeria by swimming in the blood and climbing over the bones of Ndi Igbo who he must have killed. Ndi Igbo and Biafrans are no longer for sale. That era has gone. BAKASSI, MASSOB and their leadership have amply demonstrated beyond a shadow of doubt that there are men and women of integrity in Biafra who will not be bought and sold like chicken in a basket, who can be trusted by other Biafrans to stand by the principles of the Biafran Revolution and who are willing to lay down their lives for the defense of other Biafrans. To the consternation of the Hausa/Fulani Evil Empire, and the shame of the Judases in Ala Igbo and other parts of Biafra, these Biafrans are not induced by material wealth. This is the beginning of “OPERATION SUNSHINE” which means that from now the Sun will shine on the activities of every so-called Igbo Leader who tries to buy cheap political and financial patronage from the Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba coalition by climbing on the bones of Biafrans and swimming in their blood. |
Let Biafra be actualised today, every Igbo will support it. Just the same way 2007 general election was acrobatically achieved by PDP and then every nigerian will gradually support Yaradua. Those Igbos who are hesitant in supporting Biafra actualization are doing so for fear of failure in the future. It is said that "once bitten, twice shy". So it seems that the tussling for Biafra is dying down, but I don't see how we can easily and peacefully come out of this union. We need the arrogance of Obasanjo and manipulation of PDP to achieve Biafra. Any Igboman who is still playing father christmas to Hausa or Yoruba when they have grabbed everything leaving nothing for the so called minority is a complete fool. It is our patrotism that made us third-class citizens in Nigeria. |
On the eve of The Hague international court ordering the arrest of Sudanese President al-Bahier for “war crimes and crimes against humanity” in Darfur, it is surely unpardonable that the Rotimis of this planet are basking in the democratic sunny havens of Florida instead of being incarcerated in the Netherlands. We mustn’t forget that al-Bashier studiously learnt his vicious trade from that infamous dossier that documented the mass murders that charted the parameters of a devastating age for Africa – of which al-Bashier has contributed his own vile quota. The dossier was jointly signed by Obafemi Awolowo and Yakubu Gowon and was dated 29 May 1966-12 January 1970. |
We in Biafra are convinced that the black man can never come into his own until he is able to build modern states based on indigenous African ideologies, to enjoy true independence, to be able to make his mark in the arts and sciences and to engage in meaningful dialogue with the white man on a basis of equality. When he achieves this, he will have brought a new dimension into international affairs. Biafra will not betray the black man. no matter the odds, we will fight with all our might until black men everywhere can point with pride to this republic, standing dignified and defiant, an example of African nationalism triumphant over its many and age-old enemies |
Our people have continually been subjected to genocide. The entire conspiracy of neo-colonialism has joined hands to stifle our nascent independence. Yet, undaunted by the odds, proud in the fact of our manhood, encouraged by the companionship of the Almighty, we have fought to this day with honour, with pride and with glory so that today, as I stand before you, I see a proud people acknowledged by the world. I see a heroic people, men with heart-beats as regular and blood as red as the best on earth. |
He must be brave and courageous; he must never allow himself to be attacked by other without fighting back to defend himself and his rights. He must be ready to tackle tasks which other people might regard as impossible. He must be law-abiding; he obeys the laws of the land and does nothing to undermine the due processes of law. He must be freedom-loving. He must stand up resolutely against all forms of injustice, oppression and suppression. He must never be afraid to demand his rights. For example, a true Biafran at a post office or bank counter will insist on being served in his turn. He must be progressive; he should not slavishly and blindly adhere to old ways of doing things. He must be prepared to make changes in his way of life in the light of our new revolutionary experience. He is industrious, resourceful and inventive He must not fold his arms and wait for the government to do everything for him-he must also help himself. |
Our nation will encourage the training of scientists, technicians and skilled workers needed for quick industrialization and the modernization of our agriculture. We will ensure the development of higher education and technological training for our people, encourage our intellectuals, writers, artists and scientists to research, create and invent in the service of the state and the people. We must prepare our people to con-tribute significantly to knowledge and world culture. |
Finally, the Biafran revolution will create possibilities for citizens with talent in business, administration, management and technology, to fulfill themselves and receive due appreciation and reward in the service of the state, as has indeed happened in our total mobilization to prosecute the present war. The Biafran revolution is committed to creating a society not torn by class consciousness and class antagonisms. Biafran society is traditionally egalitarian. The possibility for social mobility is always presented in our society. The new Biafran social order rejects all rigid classifications of society. Anyone with imagination, anyone with integrity, anyone who works hard, can rise to any height. Thus, the son of a truck pusher can become the Head of State of Biafra. The Biafran revolution will provide opportunities for Biafrans to aspire and to achieve their legitimate desires. Those who find themselves below at any particular moment must have the opportunity to rise to the top. |
When we think of our revolution, therefore, we think about these things. We think about our ancient heritage; we think about the challenge of today and the promise of the future. We think about the charges which are taking place at this very moment in our personal lives and in our society. We see Biafrans from different parts of the country living together, working together, suffering together and pursuing together a common cause. |
Please don’t tell us that you are going to be the MUGU of the Hausa Fulani Yoruba oligarchs and the Sokoto Caliphate. It is true that many of our politicians, intellectuals, traditional leaders, and even religious leaders have become the MONKEYS of the Hausa Fulani Yoruba oligarchs and the Sokoto Caliphate |
It is no use pointing to the northern junta or the intangible 'government' while some people of Niger Delta collect millions in 'amnesty' money, deplete government funds, and connive with the region's exploiters. Destroying federal buildings? Wrecking havoc on the Nigerian populace? That my friends, will not give the Niger Delta what it needs. By so doing, the only 'gain' if it can be so called is a reckless destruction of the resources that Niger Delta should be proud to point to as the principal contributor. As it stands, on the one hand, there are those elements who want money for their pockets, and on the other, there are those agitators who think they will win by threats, vitriolic attacks and destruction. Alas, neither side will take the beautiful rich land of the Delta to where it should be. emyah Thank you , we need more people like you in this forum. |
As the article points out, the Niger Delta has been in the lime light for a very long time in world history and with good reason too. In primary school, we were taught about the man Jaja of Opobo who refused to yield to colonial rule. But where is Jaja today? Consigned to the history books which his descendants have no access to because they lack basic educational infrastructure |
The Niger Delta needs brains and hearts in the right place. It needs cogent ideas presented cohesively. It needs a pragmatic plan for development. It needs intelligent, determined, persevering men and women who can identify the problems and drive the solutions. It is not enough to point to problems in the Delta. There must be intelligent solutions properly marked out and the means of addressing them expressly defined. As long as there remains a division in the camp for Niger Delta progress, the 'enemies' will continue to win with their 'divide and rule' tactics. |
There are many causes for inflation, depending on a number of factors. For example, inflation can happen when governments print an excess of money to deal with a crisis. As a result, prices end up rising at an extremely high speed to keep up with the currency surplus. This is called the demand-pull, in which prices are forced upwards because of a high demand. Another common cause of inflation is a rise in production costs, which leads to an increase in the price of the final product. For example, if raw materials increase in price, this leads to the cost of production increasing, which in turn leads to the company increasing prices to maintain steady profits. Rising labor costs can also lead to inflation. As workers demand wage increases, companies usually chose to pass on those costs to their customers. Inflation can also be caused by international lending and national debts. As nations borrow money, they have to deal with interests, which in the end cause prices to rise as a way of keeping up with their debts. A deep drop of the exchange rate can also result in inflation, as governments will have to deal with differences in the import/export level. |
