that is called 'Revenue Share Fraud' perpetuated by some geeks/cabals overseas. your local network will only try to block that particular number when u report. They will also see if they can complain to the partner who brought in that call.In most instances it a lost case. International rule is that they must pay the foreigners out of that your N60. they must pay them when it is proven that you made such a call to that number.

some will call u and start calling u sweet names (female voices) and drop the call so fast. roaming charges are normally very high. I didnt expect that she will be this ignorant. when you are visiting any country and decide to roam ur line you shld worry to know the new call rate/charge.

basically what she should have done is to make data calls like whatapp/skype etc. just look for wifi nau. or buy a local sim card in the country she is in. it would have been like normal for her. But roaming anywhere is not made for people without means. if u think u have means then dont complain

for roaming, some destinations are termed as Premium destinations. their charges are in higher rating zone. the reasons are so many. if u go to a far flung country like Belize (just saying), a country that probably does not have an extensive telecoms infrastructure and depends another major carrier in another country to take their traffic out for them, then charges will probably be x10 for international (roaming into their network with your local number for whatever convenience, will be higher). or maybe same country's local termination rates are very high, what do u expect international calls to cost not to now talk of roaming. Roaming ur line is a status thing most of the times. cos u want people to still see ur local lone displayed

Roaming charges are not entirely controlled by your local network, it is an international thing. they just put a small markup to what they are being charged by their foreign partner. sometimes the call will pass via different jurisdictions with different laws before completion. for a subscriber like chioma, all she cares about is that she is able to speak to the person on the other side.

so her ignorance show well well and on many levels. Maybe she just wanted to show that she is on a cruise somewhere. i dont suppose this is the first time she is noticing a higher charge for roaming
