Sports betting site bet9ja and money doubling scheme MMM top the list of most visited websites in Nigeria according to ranking by Alexa.

Alexa is a California-based company that provides commercial web traffic data and analytics on millions of registered websites. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Amazon.com.

Alexa ranking is usually based on the traffic which a website generates and as such i changes from time to time.

MMM and Bet9ja rank among the top 10 most visited sites in Nigeria out of over 50 that were ranked by Alexa.



Based on the ranking, google .com and google.com.ng both search engines of Google incorporated are the first two most visited sites in Nigeria.

On the number three spot is Youtube.com, a website where people create channels to upload and share videos.

One of the most popular sports betting site, Bet9ja takes the number 4 position on the ranking.

A Jos Upper Area Court sitting in Kasuwan Nama, Jos North Local Government Area, on Wednesday remanded one Hambali Musa in prison for allegedly raping a two-year-old girl.

The presiding judge, Suleiman Lawal, denied the accused bail, contending that the offence of rape is not bailable.

Lawal adjourned the case till August 21 for mention.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Ibrahim Gukwat, told the court that one Aminun Musa reported the case on July 3 at Nassarawa Police Station.

The police on Tuesday arraigned a 42-year-old driver, Igwe Dike, before a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ikeja, for allegedly beating his wife, Nkiru Egbo, with a plank which left her and their son seriously injured.
Dike was arraigned on two counts of assault and causing of grievous bodily harm, which he pleaded not guilty to.
According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Simon Imhowa, the incident happened on July 30, 2017, at the couple’s residence on Ferry Street, Mile 2, Lagos.


Imhowa noted that the offence was contrary to and punishable under sections 170 and 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
According to the charge sheet, Dike assaulted his 35-year-old wife by beating her with the plank.
He was alleged to have chased her with a cutlass and in the process, their nine-month-old son, whom she was backing, fell into a fire, which burnt his face and right arm.
