slimfit1: People need to come together tax yourselves hire Tractors get an engineer build your roads put a tole gate on it tax people using the roads that dont live in the area. Give councillors or council 2 months to repair after to months no action, start contributing money find a local engineer look for a design and appropriate materials for your area. If you pay council tax use the council tax to do the repairs. This will start making leaders serious. We are already a nation for or by ourselves. We provide everything a nation is supposed to provide for us. Education, security, health and light. This doesn't make sense, but it will make sense in future hopefully not too late. I know politicians who have threatened to arrest and in fact arrested people for doing such intervention projects. It's either the area didn't vote for them or you want the governor to look bad or that road is for the next few administrations down the line to handle because if you do all the roads, which ones will the next governor handle ? |

If you can't be her friend till August there's someone out there who can sacrifice that time just so she graduates and get her life together. Who knows ? I've said this again and again that fuel even from Dangote can be sold between 200-600 naira per liter without loss. Someone asked me a JAMB question last week but I didn't bother with the clown though I've been proven right once again. This is a fight we should have rounded up years ago when the economy was much better but the APC preferred playing politics with the lives of ordinary Nigerians instead. Here we are though |

Host78: So, I'm in a jam right now.
I'm a student and also work online. So I decided to rent a new place last week. The major reason is that I need constant power supply.
In this area they use band A light.
But the problem is that other student occupants don't always pay for meter subscription.
Hence there is constant light but most times this particular house don't always have light.
Before paying for rent I actually asked one of the tenants, the person currently occupying the room I paid for and he actually assured me that the compound has no light issues.
So, when they gave them light a few days ago I decided to go and check the house myself and discovered they don't have light while other compounds have light.
I then decided to speak with another tenant and he started narrating the issue to me. In fact, for the last 3 days they've not seen light in the compound even though the street have had constant light.
That some tenants are even using ac, electric cooker and so on.
So when they recharge it doesn't stay long and worst some don't even pay. I was there until night when I saw one of the tenants, a lady going round to raise money they can use for subscription that night.
She didn't get a kobo from the over 20 tenants there. The compound is that big.
So, even if I say I want to sub for the prepaid meter, with 20 people I don't think N20,000 will even last for the month.
I made the payment but I'm yet to move to the house because the other occupants are still in the house.
Please I'm thinking of going to collect my rent back because I can't cope with this. How do I approach this issue please. they'll look for another tenant and refund your money |

dominique: Nigerians will never blame the real wrongdoers as long as law enforcement is involved
The "agbero" was doing his job! Not like he was trying to extort the driver. The lunatic driver was driving on the wrong lane, risking lives and eventually ran into an 11 year old boy killing him. Just last month, one idiotic father endangered the lives of his children by driving on the wrong lane leading to the death of one of them. People should stop risking lives and drive on the right lane! I totally agree with LASTMA for putting such offenders through compulsory mental evaluation and counselling which they must pay for. Too many crazy people behind the wheels. there's nowhere in the world where law enforcement allows you to drag steering while a vehicle is in motion simply because of scenarios like this. We should stop making excuses for this barbarism and equip the traffic police with proper equipments even as far as your ticket fines waiting for you at home after you think you have escaped |

Obavoh: I came back from work yesterday to see my Wife’s younger Sister in my house.
I was surprised because no one told me she was coming. I greeted and welcomed her.
I later called my Wife aside and asked her why she did not inform me that her sister was coming to pay us a visit. That was when she broke the news to me that the girl was 3 months pregnant and had to leave the village because of shame.
My Wife begged me and even called the girl to come and kneel and beg me to allow her stay until she puts to bed. I was very angry at my wife for that.
I would love to help the girl but the problem is
1) My Father-in-law is not aware that his Daughter is pregnant. Only my Wife and Mother-in-law knows.
2) My Mother-in-law has not called to plead with me to let the Girl stay under my roof. My Wife asked me to call their mother to confirm but I think it should be the other way around.
3) I am currently managing a one room apartment with my Wife and 7 children. The place might not be conducive for a first time pregnant Girl. Feeding her is not a problem.
4) I am afraid I would be the one to pay her Medical bills, antenatal and all. When I asked my Wife she said her mother would pay but I don’t believe this judging from personal experience.
5) What if the girl suffers miscarriage or complications? God forbid. I might be held responsible.
Please advise me on what to do. My creator sees my heart that I would love to help but I am afraid. Should I let her stay or send her away? How do I do this without losing the respect of my Wife and Mother-in-law. What is the best way to help the Girl? you people should stop formulating stories just to get on Nairaland front page abeg |
