Death is one phenomenon that is hard to understand and even harder to accept, but despite this, it remains finite.

We are now five months into 2024 and we have lost some unforgettable icons. The Nigerian entertainment industry has suffered a large blow within the past five months with the death of some of its most cherished treasures, and saying goodbye to them has been hard.

Zubby Michael and other Nollywood actors and actresses attended the funeral, and it was truly amazing how Nollywood honored Junior Pope, especially Zubby Michael, who many believed would not be attending because of the drama and rumors that started on social media following his passing.

Movie producer Stanley Nwoko announced his passing in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

Just in; Veteran Nollywood Actor Amaechi Muonagor succumbs in kidney disease after soughting for financial assistance from the public on 19th March 2024.

In 2016, there were numerous publications on websites that claimed Amaechi was very ill and suffering from diabetes. Since then, Amaechi hasn't appeared or featured in any movie. There have been rumours about him leaving the movie industry.

The legendary actor who has battling with chronic kidney disease, passed away on sunday morning March 24, at the age of 62.

His junior colleague, kingsley orji, who confirmed the sad news to instablog9ja said amaechi muonagor died in his residence in obosi idemili local government of anambra state.

John Ikechukwu Okafor is a prominent and highly respected Nigerian Veteran actor known professionally as Mr. Ibu.

He has also earned a notable spot as a Comedian after his several comedic performances while acting, He appeared in over 300 Nollywood films including those from the Mr. Ibu series.

John Ikechukwu Okafor was born on 17 October 1961. He was from Umunekwu in Nigeria's former Eastern Region (now in Nkanu West L.G.A., Enugu State). After elementary school, in 1974, Okafor moved to Sapele to stay with his brother, after his father died. In Sapele, he did menial jobs so he could send himself to school and support his family.

He then worked as a hairstylist, ventured into photography and also worked in a company that produced crates. After secondary school, he was admitted into the College of Education, Yola, but pulled out due to financial difficulties.[citation needed] He later enrolled in the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu as soon as he was financially able to.

In November 2023, Okafor underwent a leg amputation after suffering from an illness that required seven surgeries. His family said the amputation was done to keep him alive and increase his chances of recovery.[21][22][23]

Okafor died on 2 March 2024, at the age of 62.

He has been hospitalized for several months and needs urgent medical attention. He has also asked for financial help form the public to pray his hospital bills and buys his medication.

3. Olu Jacobs
Olu Jacobs is a renowned Nollywood actor and film maker, he's married to joke silva another veteran actress and have two children together. Olu Jacobs is currently suffering fro memory loss and dementia. He has been trying to keep his condition private. However some of the his colleagues have confirmed his illness and have prayed for his recovery.

4. Ifeanyi Ezeokeke (Ugo Shave Me)
Ifeanyi Ezeokeke, recognized for his role as ‘Ugo Shave Me’ in Nollywood, has turned to social media to request financial assistance due to an undisclosed illness that has afflicted him for over two years. He’s not only struggling with his health, but also the abject poverty alongside his mother.

5. Kenneth Aguba
Kenneth Aguba is a Nollywood actor & producer who has been in the industry over a decade, he has produced many movies such as the last flight to abuja, the Missing guard and return of the don. Now he's currently suffering from rear bone disease called vascular neurosis of the femoral head. This condition cause the death of the bone tissue due to lack of blood supplies, he has undergone several surgeries and needs more to prevent permanent disability. He has also solicited for funds form the public to support his treatment.
