I know some of you reading this are probably looking for a way to make money online.

You've probably watched videos...

Seen screenshots...

Read success stories...

And maybe you've even heard someone say:

"Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money online."

Then they tell you:

"Just get your affiliate link and start posting it everywhere."

Simple, right?

Not exactly.

Because there's one tiny detail they usually leave out...

And that tiny detail is the difference between someone who spends months posting links with nothing to show for it...

And someone who actually learns how to generate sales.

But we'll get to that.

First...

Let me tell you something that completely changed the way I look at making money online.

The internet doesn't pay you because you want money.

It pays you because you can provide something people want.

Think about it.

Why does a mechanic get paid?

He solves a problem.

Why does a designer get paid?

He solves a problem.

Why does a teacher get paid?

He helps solve a knowledge problem.

Why does a business pay a copywriter?

Because good communication can help solve a business problem.

And this brings us to something VERY important about affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing isn't really about links.

I know...

That probably sounds strange.

After all, don't affiliate marketers get a special link?

Yes.

But here's where many beginners get it wrong.

The link isn't the business.

The link is simply the tracking mechanism.

The business is understanding a person's problem well enough to connect them with a relevant solution.

Then drop your affiliate link.

And wait.

And wait.

And probably wonder:

"Why isn't anybody buying?"

Now...

What if instead you created content explaining:

"5 mistakes beginners make when trying to learn graphic design."

Someone struggling with graphic design sees it.

They read it.

They learn something.

They realize you understand their problem.

Then you explain a practical way they can improve.

And somewhere in that process, you introduce a relevant course that could help them go deeper.

Now something has changed.

You're no longer just throwing a link at a stranger.

You're guiding someone toward a solution.

And THAT...

Is where affiliate marketing starts becoming interesting.

But there's an even deeper part.

People don't wake up wanting your affiliate product.

They wake up wanting a result.

The student doesn't necessarily want a "₦10,000 course."

They may want a skill.

The entrepreneur doesn't necessarily want software.

They want a faster or easier way to run their business.

The person struggling with a problem doesn't necessarily care about your affiliate link.

They care about getting the problem solved.

Your job is to understand that gap.

Problem → Desired result → Relevant solution.

That's the game.

And once you understand that...

You'll stop asking:

"What product can I promote?"

And start asking:

"Who can I help, and what problem are they trying to solve?"

That's a much better question.

But wait...

There's something else most beginners don't realize.

You don't necessarily need thousands of followers to make a sale.

You need the right people.

Imagine having 10,000 people who don't care about what you're offering.

Now imagine having 200 people who genuinely have the problem your product solves.

Which audience do you think is more relevant to your offer?

Exactly.

This is why blindly chasing followers isn't the entire game.

You want attention from people who actually have a reason to care.

And that's where content comes in.

Your content can attract them.

Your teaching can build trust.

Your conversations can uncover their needs.

Your offer can present the solution.

And your affiliate link can complete the transaction.

Content → Attention → Trust → Conversation → Solution → Sale.

Not:

Link → Link → Link → Link → "Why am I not making money?"

Now...

Before you get too excited, I need to tell you something.

And PLEASE don't skip this part.

Affiliate marketing is NOT a magic money button.

If you start today...

Don't expect ₦100,000 in your first week.

Don't expect 6 figures immediately.

Don't expect 7 figures immediately.

And if somebody tells you:

"Start affiliate marketing today and make ₦100k this week!"

You should ask yourself:

**"Are they teaching me a business...

Or are they selling me a dream?"**

Because anybody can show you a screenshot.

Anybody can tell you how much they supposedly made.

But screenshots don't teach you how to reproduce the result.

You need skills.

You need to understand your audience.

You need to learn how to create useful content.

You need to learn how to communicate.

You need to learn how to sell.

You need to understand objections.

You need to learn how to have conversations with prospects.

And you need to keep improving.

Your first target shouldn't necessarily be:

"How do I make ₦1 million?"

It should be:

"How do I make my first genuine sale?"

Then:

"How do I understand why that sale happened?"

Then:

"How do I repeat it?"

That's how you build a skill.

That's how you build a business.

Not by waking up on Monday and expecting to become a millionaire by Friday.

Now...

Here's the part I really want you to remember.

Affiliate marketing doesn't reward people simply for having a link.

It rewards people who can connect attention to a solution.

If you understand people...

If you can communicate...
