You won't understand. That country has a long history of assassinating its leadership. And this sort of thing started way back before it became independent.

It simply takes them nothing. The country's founding father Amilcar Cabral was shot dead by his own compatriots shortly before independence in 1974.

In 2009, some soldiers shot an killed the president as he tried to flee his residence.

Those are just two examples. The power tussle there is real.
