Food for thought: Which Nigerian Politicians has you seen served more than 10 years behind bars for corruption, embezzlement of public funds?
That is how deeply corrupt this country is and it's beyond redemption.
Imagine Maina who stole billions of Pension funds and was pardoned by the government now has authority to talk about recovery of looted funds.... And was even made a grand patron by NBA .... Men this country is gone!!! |

Politics › Re: Nma Odu: Court Restrains Rivers CJ From Receiving Impeachment Notice by KINGKONG(m): 10:41pm On Jan 16 |
BondRiv: The current Chief Judge of Rivers State with the allegations of forgery dangling over his head is an embarrassment and shamelessly corrupt. In saner climes, he would be out of office and under prosecution. The man is a politician masquerading as a judge. By his conducts, he has consistently shown that he believes the judiciary is a department of the Executive Branch. He will end up prolonging this crisis. No governance without legislative inputs and checks.
The judiciary is not yet ready to be independent and taken seriously. In as much as the Chief Judge has chosen to be subservient to the governor and has developed the habit of begging at every public function, he should not interfer with the duties of the legislature. This is the worst administration in Rivers State. Fubara is a mistake.
I have gone through the grounds of impeachment. There is no way the governor escapes any panel without being found liable. The governor and his deputy are clearly guilty of gross misconduct. They can't defend it. That is why they are evading. The Supreme Court had already indicted Fubara as a despot.
The impeachment will proceed and be heard on its merits. If the Chief Judge won't perform his function, the lawmakers will proceed and set up the panel. That is the only option. They must perform their constitutional duty. If they impeach the governor and his deputy, let them go to the Supreme Court. LMFAO, they will proceed and set up their panel? Na now I know say you be real tout like your paymaster. |
Politics › Re: Nma Odu: Court Restrains Rivers CJ From Receiving Impeachment Notice by KINGKONG(m): 10:36pm On Jan 16 |
yarimo: Dead on arrival, no court can stop the legislators from doing their constitutional duty. The court can temporarily stop a legislator from performing certain duties, but only in limited, lawful circumstances. Also courts are reluctant to issue injunctions stopping impeachment, but may do so where: 1. There is clear and grave constitutional violation 2. The process is patently illegal So yes, the court also has a role to play too.... |

hotseat: If this Fubara issue is not handled with wisdom, it could boomerang on the State.
The Rivers State chapter of the APC is overreaching itself and a meddlesome interloper in a matter beyond its jurisdiction and purview.
The legislature is not subservient to the chapter of the APC in the State because the legislature is an independent arm of government under the Constitution whereas the State chapter of the APC is not.
They should rather seek for an amicable resolution of the matter instead of acting as a judge and jury.
They (APC, Rivers State) lacks the locus standi in this matter except as an advisory body.
@hotseat They also have the key to their reelection too It's a win win situation here |

phren: You’re clueless on Rivers politics. Things you should know: 1. It’s not about party, Fubara just thinks he can get the president’s endorsement for second term by goin to APC 2. Do you expect the president to reject him? Do you think the president doesn’t know who controls the state structure? He knows that more than anyone else. 3. LGs election was the final defeat to Fubara, he can’t win second term without Wike So wike will now tell all the LG chairmen and his structure to vote for PDP? Hahahahhha You think Fubara won't be given a second term ticket in APC? What are you drinking my man? |
Politics › Re: Rivers: Wike, Allies Rule Out Support For Fubara’s Second-term Bid by KINGKONG(m): 12:53pm On Dec 30, 2025 |
Afriifa: Exactly my proposition. Tinubu is playing unfair politics, I would have allowed Fubara teach Wike shege. Lol that's not how politics works..... It's all about patience, playing dumb and making your baddest moves!!!! Tinubu won't allow Fubara do anything for now, he needs both of them. Wike is getting out of control, that's why Tinubu is tolerating him till after his second tenure (If he wins). SIM decamping to APC has really weakened Wike's control of the state, that's why he's going round the LGA to display his show of strength lol. Wike can't go forward nor backward .. he's stuck with that power chess move by Fubara. Because if Wike resigns from PDP, I bet you... Lot of governors, senators and HOR members will decamp back to PDP (this will reset all his dirty work for Tinubu which I know he won't think about such moves) If he moves to APC, definitely he can't be moving mad to disobey the governor because he must obey the state leader which happens to be the governor and must align with the national interest of the party. Wike is really stuck..... |
