I was sent an email on the 19th of December,2024 to submit some documents.
I’ve submitted them since on the 23rd of December, 2024 but nothing yet.

I don’t need verification as my spouse is a researcher in Germany.

How about you, any word from the embassy yet?

Hello Everyone!
I went for my Visa Interview in November 2024 and till date no Update from the Embassy.
Please how can someone track the Visa Process after the Interview. The Embassy don‘t seem to reply to emails these days. I have messaged the ABH and the Bundesverwaltungsamt in Berlin as well, both of which haven't received my Visa Application.

Please does anyone have any other ideas?

I see. Im guessing its because of your status in Germany. From what i could deduce here on this platform, if the dependant is a Holder of BlueCard or Permanent Residency, the Family dont need Verification and invariably no need for proof of Block Acct. Because to get the Blue card/ Permanent stay, you have to be earning above 60k euros a year i think.
Btw since the Verification will take place, it might unfortunately take longer. But just keep sending them email every now and then.

Hello all good day, My family finally had an appointment with the German consulate on the 24th of June but we are still yet to receive any updates as regards verification from all the people we used none of them have been called or anything like that and we have blocked 24K euros since then but no feedback. I have reached out to the Auslander in my city but they confirmed that my son & husband's files are not with them. I have tried calling the German consulate in Lagos for weeks but they aren't picking up any calls, I've sent emails with no response as well. Please has anyone done their family reunion visa recently within this time period what is the status? I'm sincerely tired of waiting. It's been 4 months no information from the German consulate on our application whatsoever. I'm still house hunting and most landlords don't want to give an apartment for a family to a single person. I'm super stressed out. Please anyone with any information please share how this family reunion thing goes. Thank You.

Hello there. Have you tried sending them an email? They respond better to emails. So since your family require Verification, it usually takes 6months or more. Btw why do you need a Block Acct. of 24k euros? That is usually not required for a Family Reunion Visa.

I would also want to know if your wife require verification? Also, have the ABH contacted you; if yes how long did it take?

It has been two months now since my wife’s

interview. I have not received any letter from ABH. We do not need verification since I am a researcher. The ABH told me that they have not heard from Lagos consulate. I wonder why it is taking so long.

I think you should contact the Embassy via Email to inform them or rather remind them that your Wife do not need Verification.

Hello Everyone! Please would there be an issue at if the Spouses still have different Last names; my Wifes‘s Last name hasnt been changed on the passport because it will alter the passport number and invariably delay the appointment.
Has anyone had any issue relating to this?

Hello everyone. After about four months since my family had their interviews in Lagos, my wife was now asked to submit an affidavit of bachelorhood from me. Since I am not in Nigeria right now and no such affidavit has been made. Can anyone advise me on how to proceed?

I think you can get it done at a local court in Nigeria by your Parent living in Nigeria. Just try an get in contact with a Court in Nigeria and they will guide you.

For those that havent gone for the Interview, can we buy the Prepaid Envelop at the Embassy or do we have to get it before going to the Embassy?

Please also why is it that some people are being verified and others are being exempted from the Verification Process? Is there a specific criteria to be exmpted?

I registered for an Appointment on March 30, 2023. Still havent gotten an Date yet.. i heard the Febuary people have started getting their Appointments. That means this week ending or next week will be for the March people i guess.
