When I saw that comment and the cheap "likes" it generated, I was dumbfounded also for my people's folly.

As in, how could one be so sure of another man's character even when you're yet to meet them in person. How could an adult summarize someone else's character with such a shallow word "normally". Not that you sleep and wake up with the man daily, nor have met him before, yet he's so sure that the man would 'normally' not take pictures with children. And there are people who agreed with his summation by liking the comment..., Haaa these people are seriously in need of check.

Rest Bros.
Of course, I believe you're an agent (which in my opinion is a decent part-time job). I also believe that you didn't understand the illustration.

The guyman agent couldn't have been the Old man's original agent (if he had any at the time in question), he lied that the "people" interested in the house were/was his "sister"(someone that he was trying to exploit).
Again, if he was genuine at all, he should at least have told the couple what the extra 350k was for. Instead of holding forth for him here, you should know that not all agents are decent people

thunder74:
The additional N350,000 added to the rent is likely to be for Agency, Agreement and refundable deposit.
Now that he has given them his house without agreement and caution, hope he will not complain if something is damaged tomorrow? Secondly, whenever there is any trouble with the tenant, hope he will also not call the agent to intervene?
The truth is that the additional fees are for the professionals he engaged or how does he intend to pay for the services of the Agent that brought the tenant and the lawyer that will prepare the agreement? The caution deposit is for a security that the landlord will keep to be refunded whenever the tenant is moving out if nothing is damaged.

As much as I respect your courage to post something, anything at all. Yet, I'm inclined to believe and think that you don't truly understand the meaning of simple words like "solved" or say "solution". For, if truly you know what it means to "solve" a problem, then you'll truly desist from posting "anything" just for the sake of posting.

Agreement is stronger than hearsay or busy-bodies, or say pity-parties my brother. That was why Ukwa (Nkem Owoh) sang that song; "Agreement is agreement".

I wasn't there when either of 'em agreed to the terms of "submission and help", but one thing is clear sir, someone reneged from playing his part. The major reason why PBAT intervened was because agreement is sacrosanct in his political school, else he'd have allowed them to carry on just like in the case of Sanwo-Olu and Obasa.

Now, whether Wike stole more than Okowa is beyond me, and I graciously so submit. But I know that Wike was busy commissioning projects till he handed over to His Excellency Simi Fubs, w/c neither Okowa nor Udom and Dickson did in their domains.

ddippset:

PoliticsRe: Oborevwori Named Delta APC Leader As Defections Hit Cross River PDP by KingPure(m): 11:33am On May 01, 2025
I doubt you understood what you wrote.

Wike was never in APC (and not liable to their constitution, and neither "was" Fubara an APC member at the start of their crises.

Now, let's pretend to dance to your other tunes.
Why on earth would an Okowa, an alleged squanderer of Delta State's patrimony to the tune of #1.3t (funding and chasing a VP position that was never going to happen) be asking for trouble from his successor (who relatively was in the know of how his predecessor squandered their Commonwealth on a wild goose chase) even though Okowa did not carry his matter for head like gala, the way Wike did in Fubara's case. Wike was commissioning projects till 2weeks to the election (using it to clear the road for same Fubara).

You may not believe this, but Udom and Eno, Dickson and Diri were not in the same caliber of political godfather and godson the way it was for Wike and Fubara. What major oppositions were against Eno and Diri the way Fubara

ddippset:
Arrogant Wike should learn from this.

A Governor should automatically become the Party State leader...

Even Shetima the other day was praising Okowa for not interfering in Sheriff's work despite being the one that brought him there.
Udom did not interfere with Eno.
Dickson did not stress Diri.

It all boils down to individuals..

Some are power drunk and extremely desperate for power and authority.

Obviously, there are people who take pleasure in false and fowl accusations, but until one suffers from such people' accusations, one may never truly understand the level of malady running through such folks. This woman that has layed allegations against her own husband can go any length to disrespect and disrepute anyone.

The heat has been on her to supply evidence. She said at the right time, she'd supply evidence.

If Lagos or any other region can no longer serve the initial purpose of relocation, reverse gear is still in vogue. People just overflog simple matter beyond proportion. And it actually shows their level of trust, even among themselves they reserved words like "saboteurs" and outcast for some.

One thing I readily know too well is the propensity for bragging cum boasting that the Northern elites own like sand. They can boast and brag on any matter than any other tribe in Nigeria.

For instance, there was a time Abacha' wife was quoted as saying that;" their family can never be as poor as Dangote". Again, one time OPEC Chairman, Rilwan Lukman also boasted that no matter how much money a former Governor of Kaduna State steals, he would never be as rich as his lastborn that was still in College at the time.

As for Bala Muhammad, he's a serial jester cum lousy boastful empty entity.

Shamelessness is a very serious disease. It makes a man sees himself as the only one standing, and fighting for a right course.

See what shamelessness can cause a man, I suppose that this your revered Maslow that propounded that your most holy, only true law must come from same Local Government as you.

Shame on you, should it be that Maslow was a native of one of the developed world. The only time I'll take you serious is when you and your law propounder are blacks.

Treadway:
lol. That is your perspective. Some people see life and the pursuit of happiness and/or significance differently.

I was asked at a job interview as a fresh grad if I would prefer to be a janitor for 200k salary or a manager for 100k salary. My answer then was a manager.

Fast forward to now, my answer is still the same. And based off your answer I can tell you'd choose to be a janitor, which is fine and your prerogative.

To explain tha Maslow's hierarchy of needs simply, it simply states that there is always a pressing need that motivates you and once that need is satisfied you move up to a 'higher' level need, which becomes your new motivator and so on up till level 5. Even as a fresh grad I knew I would derive no joy being a janitor for higher pay, and if I lose that specific janitor job, there is a very slim chance I'd get another paying same, but as a manager my next job could be that 100000*10, and more importantly I'd be happy while at it and fulfilled meaning I have somewhat moved to level 4 on the hierarchy.

Where I am on the hierarchy, I can't think like you have sadly, I am not motivated by only 'more money' or the presence of 'emergency care'. I suspect you still may not understand, but it is a teachable moment, someone might learn something and I feel like teaching.

Life is more than exchange rate.

For someone like op with the kind of exposure he must have had and at thatbage to think that way was kind of a let down and that is why I expressed it. I don't care if you move out of the country and do whatever, but pls be sensible and don't act like you forefather that saw a mirror and lost all there senses. How can you say there are no beggars in a country( thank God at least he didn't push that one further) or say one cleaner somewhere is better than someone well-read, super motivated, an achiever with a career who rose to become a top exec/RM? Madness! And you can only read or hear that from Nigerians with no self worth. As backward as Africa is na only Naija dey fall hand and constitute nuisance like this and it is annoying. Then you say they don't recognize your experience and credentials. How can they? When you have told them repeatedly how you don't even measure up to their homeless people and how they have given your life meaning just by accepting you. Why were you guys hating on Emdee Tiamiyu when you are no different. Dem just never interview una or give you mic yet, you'd clearly do worse

What exactly is the crux of your epistle, and to what end in particular. I don't know why people find it difficult to understand that everybody can not think like, or be them.

The very same way you chose to return to Nigeria within your rights, someone else chose to leave Nigeria for a better experience of life (the very same thing you did some years back, that took you to the US of A for schooling if that's correct and true), yet you now have the temerity to let us know his own is called "running away" from Nigeria. Your likes are everywhere, always thinking and believing that only their choice is right no matter the outcome, or are there not people that you left in America back then that are now Dollar billionaires, you only mentioned the unserious ones that turned out as beggars to you.

Do well to learn that not everything is meant to be about just you and how good your choices were, others also have the right to live their lives and their choices. It will really help you alot.

Eriokanmi:
Thanks for dropping a different but reasonable scenario. I lived and schooled in America but chose to come back home. There are limitless opportunities here.

As you're running away, lots of Chinese, Japanese and Indians keep thronging Nigeria in search of opportunities we've never seen. Imagine a Chinese opening a shop in Oshodi grin. They'd come with a pair of trousers and begin riding jeeps in less than 5 years. This was what I saw, which brought me back Home. Meanwhile, those I left behind said my village people had prevailed. Now, I dash them money each time I visit. They can't even try what I did now cos age isn't on their side anymore and they're overwhelmed with family needs. Some of them haven't gotten papers till date so, they can't even visit home.

As I speak, I can only say, thank God I came back. I'm quite relevant in the industry in which I operate. I can't imagine me relocating at that age...for what reason exactly? I hold visas of powerful countries which I have not even used. I can visit all the European countries with the multiple visa I hold, any time I choose. I don't have to queue before obtaining American visa. With a drop box, I'm good.

I live in a part of Lagos where we enjoy 22hrs power supply. I don't have to turn on my gen if the light blinks cos I know they'd restore it in minutes. In advanced nations too, light does blink. I had been inside the Geneva Airport for 20 minures and light wasn't restored after they took it. Prof Adewole, the former health minister was there that day. We jammed eachother. He was also returning to Nigeria.

I drive 40 minutes to the airport. I get to VI ahead of those living in Lekki/Ajah despite leaving their homes early. Life is about choices but choosing rightly is edifying and rewarding. I remember a day i was painting my house. The owner of the company said, we painted Davido's house and his dad's university too. I was like, that means there's nothing celebs can enjoy which I too can't. Look inwards and you'd see opportunities that will transform your life and that of your entire family. I just completed a WHO-sponsored project in the first quarter. Nigeria is a blessed nation. What we lack is leadership. If only we can jettison tribalism and bigotry, we will get it right someday.

The bad choices we make are the reasons Nigerian youths, who are supposed to fix the nation are running away. Our leaders who have refused to leave the space, always operate like cultists so they care less about the masses after deceiving them into winning elections. Imagine a senator being expelled for exposing his colleagues. His conscience must have disturbed him to spill the beans despite being an officer in the house. Getting it right begins with you and I
