Yet Nigerians that emigrated to places like Canada are permitted to stay in igloo-kind of houses with their family members for the early years of their stay right. Selective amnesia is not a disease but it's common these days. Do well not to end up in that group by all means. Gbadugbakun: He didn't list anything. He only said out there. There was no specific location in his posts.
Besides do you expect a family man to rent a self con? Self con that used to be seen as students apartments is now what people are struggling to rent. Is that what Nigerians have been reduced to? |

You dey mind someone whose only interest is to attract undeserved and undue attention to himself because he stays in the worst and poorest part of Yaba. Ikorodu, Epe, and some places around even Yaba (,places like Bariga, Iwaya, Onike) you'll be amazed how cheap rents are there. YoshihideSuga: He listed the areas of which Yaba wasn't mentioned. Anyone who works in this firm isn't interested in residing in Yaba. Also, if one bedroom is very expensive, there are options of mini-flat and self-con. |
Politics › Re: Obi Betrayed Me, Atiku Saw Value In Me, Says Kenneth Okonkwo by KingPure(m): 3:58pm On Jul 03 |
I really think someone has finally captured this sect correctly. . CharlesCNG: How To Spot An Obidient On Nairaland: A User Guide.
Not everyone who criticises Tinubu is an Obidient. Not everyone who disagrees with Pastor Adeboye is an Obidient. Not everyone who supports opposition politics is an Obidient.
But there is a pattern.
If it quacks like an Obidient, insults like an Obidient, dodges facts like an Obidient, and shouts “data boy” like an Obidient, forgive me for recognising the duck.
You can usually spot them by the familiar feathers.
First, they rarely answer the issue. If you raise facts, they attack your motive. If you ask for evidence, they say you are paid. If you question Peter Obi, they say you are working for APC. If you defend a point they dislike, they call you “data boy.”
Second, they confuse abuse with intelligence. Instead of argument, you get insults. Instead of data, you get slogans. Instead of reasoning, you get “fake certificate,” “snatch and grab,” “criminal,” and other recycled chants.
Third, they practice selective outrage. When a pastor, activist or elder appears to support Obi, he is a voice of conscience. But if the same type of public figure says something that does not serve their political anger, he becomes tribal, fake, compromised or useless.
Fourth, they dodge facts like rain. Present figures, they change topic. Present history, they shout propaganda. Present voting patterns, they reply with emotion.
So no, I do not call people Obidient simply because they disagree with me. I notice the uniform: abuse first, evidence last.
If it walks like selective outrage, quacks like political intolerance, and swims comfortably in insult, I do not need DNA test to know the species.
You can deny being Obidient, but if your argument came from the usual insult factory, do not blame me for identifying the manufacturer. |

Romance › Re: My Friend Just Got Engaged To A Girl I Was Involved With… What Do I Do? by KingPure(m): 2:30pm On Jun 17 |
In life, like in all known sports and games, not all fouls are noticed or cautioned by the umpire. Maybe, just maybe you're placed in that capacity at this time. Do not misuse your position. Certain things follow men into their graves unspoken. . mayDtolu: Guys I need advice on this matter.
There is this girl I know very well. We were very close before and we had casual relationship.( Just sex and no dating) but During that time, I also had something with two of her friends she introduced to me.
At that time I didn’t really think much about it because it was all casual but I won’t lie, she’s a very attractive lady and one of the sweetest people I’ve ever been with. We got along really well, and I enjoyed her company.
But later I started noticing her lifestyle and the kind of things she does, and I began to feel she is into runs / hookup lifestyle.
I’m not judging her o, but that’s what I observed over time.
Fast forward, I just found out she is engaged to one of my old university friends. The guy even don propose already.
When I saw their pictures I was shocked.
This guy is a very good and calm person because we lived together and I squatted in his place for a semester . That is why this thing is disturbing me.
Part of me feels I should tell him everything I know about her so he can decide with full information. Another part of me feels I should just mind my business and let her past be her past.
What do you guys think? If you were in my shoes, would you tell him or not? |

Whaaaaatt!!! Well I'm not disappointed. I understand that some of you are actually using nairaland to think aloud in public settings. The issue at hand has suddenly transformed into a misunderstanding only because someone could not read to understand between public conduct (regardless of prevailing situations) and emotions. Maybe I should ask Mr Onoh this and his co-travellers; "Would you maintain decorum or rather dance on the spot of an accident as a lone survivor (even in the very presence of the loved ones of co-travellers)"? I'll also now conclude that I noticed you only sleep, wake-up, eat, take your bath, drink, read, learn, and practice nothing else outside the news of banditry and kidnappings. How boring this life could be for some people. Nice2023: Let us have conscience at least.

Nairaland General › Re: Lagos Environmental Sanitation Day Will Hold Tomorrow, Saturday, April 25, 2026 by KingPure(m): 10:41am On Apr 24 |
Now, I'm beginning to think that you truly believe that you've made a point by comparing Owerri, Enugu, Uyo, or where again did you mention as against a city-state (or call it a state-wide City) of Lagos magnitude. If you must know, Lagos is unique in all ramifications and by all standards. Lagos' city appellation is not on the basis of word of mouth. One should not just compare a State capital in a small space with the metro city of Lagos. Yes, there are challenges to keeping the streets of Lagos, the waterways, and especially the market places ultra clean, but they are very surmountable when people like you don't read non existent ulterior motives to every step taken by the Government. I bet you, the street cleaning trucks was not an ideation of the other States you made mention of their capitals, and if I may ask, why did you stop with only the capitals in those States, or why didn't you mention other cities in such States?. Don't just be selective, be sensible enough to know that the average volume of wastes generated alone by one LCDA/LGA in Lagos State in one day may even triple that in Owerri and it's environs in one week. You may not want to believe it or agree/accept this, Lagos is housing the single biggest population of a city in the entire Sub-Sahara Africa. ariesbull: Very ridiculous.mwhy do we do things backwards , you don't get to see cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Sydney etc dedicated every last Saturday of the month for environmental shits like this, I don't know why Africans don't think
Lagos is a city of over 15 million now when you stop this number of people from work for 2 hours you have lost over 30 million productive hours and the money lost.we must factor these things and know there are more efficient and better ways things can be done. Techmology is there !
Lagos is a city that doesn't have street sweepers trucks ! When cities like Enugu and Aba are having it...they still have their human sweepers constituting nuisance to traffic and endangering there live!
Lagos should be creative in their environmental stuff...everywhere stinks and dirty! They should go and copy neat cities like Enugu, Uyo, Owerri, Abuja and Jos
Buy street sweepers ... Those human sweepers becoming nuisance and endangering their lives
Build drains and maintain them
Finally educate people on how to be neat
Lagos can afford these ...if other cities in East can ,Lagos is rich they can also |

Even though I don't agree with your summation, what I literally understand from her jolly write up are; 1. She now finally wants a Nigerian guy. 2. The bus-driver she dated was not a regular Lagos bus (BRT, danfo, or Uber) driver, someone who could equally afford 400£ conveniently as a bus driver, and that should be in the UK where no one knows who you are by mere seeing your fine skin. 3. Her definition of dating does not necessarily mean sleeping around or what have you these days. 4. She's probably ready for the aisle. quadraheem: This is another evidence that shows that money cannot buy everything especially Happiness. |
