The Edo's has a clear history about the migration of Oduduwa(Ekaladerhan). He met people at Ife who made him thier king cos there was a prophecy in Ife that the one who will led them will come from somewhere, the Yoruba claim Oduduwa fell from the sky or migrated from Mecca(East) a simple google map will place Benin at East of Ife. The ruling class Oduduwa met at Ife revolted and was defeated by Oduduwa who was versed in mysticism(One of the reason he was suspected of tying his father wives womb hence making them barren), the true inhabitants of Ife were the Ugbo/Ilajes.


The connection between the Edo's and Yoruba is in Royalty,Oduduwa the son of the last Ogiso of Igodomigodo is the Grandfather of Oba of Benin, 2nd Aalafin of Oyo,the 2nd Owa Ibokun ....These are the only Kings I know to be direct descendants of Oduduwa (I stand to be corrected).

The question most Yoruba historians are yet to agree on is were ODUDUWA migrated from?

1. Oramiyan was not crowned a King in Edo.
2. Benin has no meaning in Edo.
3. Because Oduduwa was a Benin prince named Ekaladerhan.
3. Yes Oba Eweka is the Son of Oranmiyan and the Grandson of Oduduwa and also the great grand son of the last Ogiso of Igodomigodo named Owodo,Owodo happen to be the father of Oduduwa( Prince Ekaladerhan)
4. The head of the Oba of Benin was never buried at Ile-Ife,but there is a stool at Ile-Ife refers to Our fathers Stool which none other can sit on except the Oba of Benin.
