Politics / Re: Constitution Review Hearing: What Would You Want Reviewed In The Constitution? by kingyang: 11:14am On May 26, 2021
The country should abandoned 1999 constitution be begin with 1960 afresh .

BluntCrazeMan:
CONSTITUTION REVIEW HEARING: WHAT WOULD YOU WANT REVIEWED IN THE CONSTITUTION?

The Senate Zonal Public Hearing on the Constitution Review Comes up Today (26th May 2021) and Tomorrow (27th May 2017) in two centres each across the Six Geo-political Zones in Nigeria.
The Public Hearing would happen simultaneously in all these 12 centres between 10am and 5pm, both today and tomorrow.
These Centres are listed below:

I. North-Central 1 - Jos Centre
(Plateau, Nasaraws and Benue)

2. North-Central 2 - Minna Centre

3. North-East 1 - Bauchi Centre

4. North-East 2 - Gombe Centre
(Gombe, Tarnba and Adamawa)

5. North-West 1 - Kaduna Centre
(Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Katsina)

6. North-West 2 - Sokoto Centre
(Sokoto. Kebbi and Zamfara)

7. South-East 1 - Owerri Centre

8. South-East 2 - Enugu Centre
(Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra)

9. South-South 1 - Asaba Centre
(Delta, Edo and Bayelsa)

10. South-South 2 - Port Harcourt Centre
(Rivers. Cross River and Akwa-Ibom)

11. South-West 1 - Lagos Centre
(Lagos, Oyo and Ogun)

12. South-West 2 - Akure Centre
(Osun and Ondo).
..
..
In as much as many Well-Meaning Nigerians would have wanted to be there at the hearing, the painful truth is that they may not end up being there in the end. And since there are no alternative online/virtual means for citizens to contribute to the hearing, it then means that the reviews that these well-meaning Nigerians have in their minds for which they couldn't get themselves to the venues of the hearing in order to contribute, may end up remaining with them forever.
..
Nevertheless, I earnestly hope that those persons who finally made it to the venues of the hearing would point out “Many” of those issues which the supposed “absentees” were having in their minds.

..
For me, - and that is, speaking for myself - I would be very happy if these issues I am listing here below are reviewed (or added to the Constitution):

1. “Independent Candidacy In Elections”. Let it not be a compulsory factor that a candidate must come from a political party.

2. “Electronic Voting”. Let the options for electronic technologies be allowed in our elections, and let the options allowed not be restricted or specifically mentioned, this is because, as technology continues to advance, better technological options may become available.

3. “Expanding the Conditions and Options for the use of REFERENDUMS”. Referendums at the moment (according to the current Constitution) can only be used when there is need for the creation of a new State or LGA or to adjust the boundaries of existing States or LGAs. It can also be used when a legislative member is to be recalled by the constituents who voted him/her. That is a very shallow and a very narrow use of Referendums in Nigeria. Provisions should be made to expand the use of Referendums. A full section should be included in the Constitution about Referendums; and it should be in such a way that the Legislature Calls for it in order for it to be used to decide some important national issues, and then the Executive Council Approves it, and finally the Electoral Body Conducts it.

4. “Separation of the Local Police, State Police, Regional Police, and Federal Police”. This one is simple. No much explanations are needed. Or alternatively, let all policemen be posted back to their Local-Government-Areas. (Police is not Military. Police is mainly for maintaining the internal peace and order, and this should be done with the use of Minimum Force. When the case gets bigger than the use of Minimum Force, then a Tactical Team should be deployed. Policemen shouldn't be moving around with deadly weapons).

5. “Total reformation of the Police Force”. All the functions and operations of the Police Force should be boldly stated inside the Constitution. Where their powers began and where they ended should also be included. For instance, the use of firearms should be highly restricted for the police. Also, police should stop operating as if they are military men.

6. “Total reformation of the Military”. All the functions of the Military should be boldly stated inside the Constitution. Where their powers began and where they ended should also be included. For instance, the military should not be seen anyhow in the cities and on the highways as if they are Policemen. The Military functions are totally different from Police Functions. Let it clearly stated that Military can only be seen at places where there is serious unrest, or at places where there is total breakdown of peace and order.

...
I think these are all that I can say for now.
If I remember others, I can add them in the comments below.

For some reasons , make need to marry two to 3 wives, I got same fellings to, the nature of my job keeps me far away Sha
daylay7:
Hi everyone,

I met this lady long time ago before I got married to my wife and we were in love back then. She refused me when I actually proposed to her and I moved on afterward but each time we were together, our love was quite evident in the air which became noticeable to people around us.

Eventually, I got married and we distant ourselves for the sake of both of us and then, we reduced our phone talks but we were still friends.

And now, each time we were opportune to talk on phone, the feelings keep coming back. It is irresistible! The day we eventually met, we almost make out but we got ourselves under control miraculously and we distant again for a while. The truth is I can't stop talking to her at least we don't even do that often as before.
What is wrong with me? i need help! What do I do?

Family / Re: My Wife Wants To Kill Me. What Should I Do? by kingyang: 12:13pm On Apr 30, 2021
udoji2021:
Life is sweet generally but can be cruel to others.

I was once a happy guy with a bright future but marriage is practically killing me. It all started when I become sick and was admitted in a hospital. my aged mother was the person staying with me and was responsible for my everything. inside the ward, another patient was with this very beautiful girl that was very hard working, my condition was critical that my mother will have to bath me sometimes, this girl now started helping my mother and to a point, my mother will leave her to be taking care of me and go home.

I become close to her, but i use to think that she just pity my condition and wanted to help so I did not think of having any relationship with her. I was later discharge and went home but since we exchange our contacts earlier, we use to talk often. I asked her one day to visit me which she agreed. To my surprise, this girl brought some provision for me and slept over in my house. she continue visiting till one day, I told her that if i was strong and capable, I would have loved to date her. she confessed instantly that she was really interested in me and did not care about my condition. According to her, she was born in a poor family and can handle the pressure of been broke, that she will be the happiest person if I love her back the way she loves me. I was moved with her words and to cut the story short, we started dating.

Her parents were highly against the relationship initially but when they become tired of us, they allow us to do our thing but never involve them if something happened. fast to December last year, we got married. I was not even able to pay 1h to her parents. she just pack her things and join me in my house. we were the happiest couple on Earth till things started going north.

First, we agreed to do many things in the farm against hunger next year, we started with melon farm, then groundnut and yams. we were still on this and I must confess that she is hard working but pregnancy came and this girl started misbehaving, she will not follow me to the farm again and will not even cook for me. I dare not complain cos she will insult me seriously. sometimes, I will tell my sister to cook but this girl will not eat it because the food is bad.

One night, she sent me out of the room in the night that I must get bananas for her to eat. I suffered that night till I got it from one woman on credit cos I was not having money on me. last month, she was sick and visited one private clinic, I was to give her 10k for her treatment but did not have the money so I told her to give me 4days to look for it, there was no insult I did not receive that night. I have to sell my yam seeds and pay. infact, I'm tired of this life presently cos i use to think that she will help me but the reverse is the case now.

Please I need advice on the way forward, I want to run away from home but she is pregnant, her people refused to help us too cos they warned her before.

pls advice me

My advice, go out and work, look for something meaningful to do and take good care of your lovely wife okay, your home lack money, I pray for God to bless you with it, but you have to work, no food for lazy man, stop stressing your wife, have a close talk with her and put things right , the country is hard, but that won't make you to fold your arms okay

Car Talk / Re: Bajaj Launches Re 250 Superkeke In Nigeria, Unveils Jay Jay Okocha As Ambassador by kingyang: 7:15pm On Nov 11, 2020
trendsgirl:
Bajaj Auto - the world’s largest manufacturer of 3-wheelers, has today launched the most superior keke ever seen in Nigeria, the RE 250 along with their exclusive 3- wheeler distributor Stallion Group. The RE 250 was unveiled by superstar footballer Jay Jay Okocha in the presence of over 100 keke dealers & other prominent members at an event held in Lagos. The launch of the Superkeke, themed, “Bigger Heart, Stronger Body” marked the brand’s association with the fabled football star and the company’s desire to provide a better, stronger and more reliable keke for the Nigerian people.

The Bajaj RE 250 distinctly stands out because of a host of class leading features. The vehicle is powered by a 236cc DTSi engine, the biggest engine to ever come in a keke. Company officials have highlighted that this engine has been running successfully in more than 20 countries across the globe. The vehicle boasts many first-in-class features like front fork, CV shaft, bigger 10” tyres, clear headlamps, remote controlled MP3 player, to name a few. Bajaj Auto has also upped the style quotient of the vehicle through a rear spoiler and a transparent passenger hood.

The Bajaj brand ambassador, Jay Jay Okocha, who also spoke about his new brand association explained that “brand’s strong legacy and continuous efforts to offer best in class products to Nigerians has inspired me to associate myself with the brand”.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr Shaleen Nayak, Vice-President, West Africa, Bajaj Auto said, “Nigeria is one of the most important 3W markets in the world and we have specially designed this vehicle for Nigeria. For instance, we have always felt that a keke rider in Nigeria requires a bigger, more powerful engine because of the tough road conditions. The addition of front fork can greatly ease shoulder pain for the rider after a long hard day of work. We are delighted to launch the RE250 for our Nigerian keke riders and we believe the RE250 will help riders & fleet owners prosper in their life.”

Mr Manish Rohtagi, Group CEO, Stallion said, “The RE250 Superkeke is a truly innovative and powerful product for the Nigerian roads. The company through its superior product and sharp service offerings and welfare initiatives will establish and forge long term partnership with the channel ecosystem and customers across Nigeria. Through these fulfilment partners we envisage providing employment opportunity to 5 million Nigerians directly and indirectly over the next 5 years.”

Ms. Helen Omojola, Muboj G.K Enterprises dealer from Lagos, added “This is exactly the vehicle which the market was crying out for and I am thankful that Bajaj Auto has listened to the demands of the keke riders and given us such a great product. I am very excited to start selling the RE250 here.

The company aims to achieve a dominant position in the Nigerian market through the RE250 and has launched the vehicle at a competitive price of 800,000 Naira. The Bajaj RE 250 Kekes are available from November 11, 2020 at all dealer outlets nationwide and will be showcased in 30 cities around the country from November 12, 2020 with a host of market connect activities on the superkeke with special appearances of Jay Jay Okocha.
