CultureEze Ndigbo by kino(op): 12:56pm On Aug 13, 2009
I have been following news on how so many idiots are flaunting themselves as Eze Ndigbo.

Can someone please elaborate on this issue. Most igbo accept they are republican in nature and by history Igbo were not ruled by kings but community of elders - first true democracy if you ask me smiley.

Why are some people now calling themselves Eze Ndigbo
ProgrammingRe: A Young Nigerian Software Developer Blast Indians by kino: 4:39pm On Jun 02, 2009
This is absolute rubbish, the guy runs a buy/sell business. His company did not develop any of the banking solutions as he claims and looking at his cv, from an IT professional view he seems to be Jack of all Trade. It looks like he has worked as part of the team, lets not forget software developement takes man years and many resources so lets wake up and smell the coffee.

Did Indians learn from the west ? Yes and No.

Yes - Learn't how to create products that are world standard

No - Created technical schools all over India that they when students graduated, they had enough knowledge to compete with the western educated folks. Technology transfer has been the success of India, by transfering simple things like data input, The indian software gurus have now developed automated systems that can take care of this.

Naija has a long way to go. Until we solve our power issue, we can not move forward, are you going to run your systems on diesel. grin
TV/MoviesRe: Nigeria has a Satellite in Orbit! (NigeriaSat-1) by kino: 4:18pm On Mar 16, 2007
A govt that cannot provide more than 1000MW of electricity for its people is wasting funds operating a satellite. What gain has the satellite brought home, it has not helped in search and rescue efforts, climate prediction, communiction , the list goes on. BABA and Nweke have got their priorities wrong. Build roads, hospitals ( not travelling to London for sprained ankles) is what we need not some machine that orbits space and provided no benefit for the poor man on the ground. OLD HOW YOU GO SAY THIS GOVT GOOD. THIS GOVT WORSE PASS ABACHA.

ProgrammingRe: Dotnet by kino: 5:41pm On Feb 13, 2007
Practice, Practice, Develop develop is what is important experience is more important than certificates. I used to have all Microsoft, the Sun it was easy stuff get the book read like hell pass the exam and you think you know it all. Best way to learn is by doing a project that is the only experience I will look for when hiring anyone except graduates who have no industrial experience.

ComputersRe: Linux or Windows Operating System? by kino: 12:59pm On Feb 13, 2007
texazzpete:
possibly the dumbest comment here. Does that mean you grew up stupid?

Linux may be free, but it's got its drawbacks. At least we windows users don't have to scramble round looking for fixes and we can play FEAR and Call of Duty 2 without breaking a sweat.

funny enough, im not here to slag off any OS. At least, ever since i installed YDL 5.0 i became a fully fledged linux user grin. Still think Windows the best for productivity and fun sha!
It seems you misunderstood the question - Read it again my bro. The guy is looking for advice on which is best. If he is a techie then windows, linux whatever doesn't matter as long as he knows how to fix them when it goes belly up. I agree with the other guy we are all slaves of Mr. Gates and his empire. You mentioned for productivity windows is better - how do you measure productivity - Man it depends on the task at hand tongue .

My brother - if you are a techie I will advice you to use Linux else stick with Windows. (All major banks in the world run Linux or some kind of Unix as Backoffice so which do you think is better - Its not a million dollar question. kiss
ComputersRe: Linux or Windows Operating System? by kino: 6:24pm On Feb 12, 2007
Both have their benefits and disadvantages -
Windows - Loads of viruses and main point not free cry
Linux - stable, free and few viruses (because virus writer are not interested in targetting it since 80% of pc in the world run windows anyway).

Advice - You can run which ever you want but be warned if looking for a job Windows dominate every office out there ;
Linux is for Geeks and Windows for the stupid tongue.

EducationRe: Who Are The Most Educated Nigerians? by kino: 5:04pm On Feb 12, 2007
cheesy Does it matter which is the most educated whether Igbo,Hausa or Yoruba it makes no difference. We Nigerians should put our heads together and better our country. Neither India nor China is calculating who is milking cow, who is chasing money or who the westerners first educated, they are completing with the west now and that is what young nigerians should aspire to. Long live the motherland ONE NIGERIA. smiley smiley smiley kiss kiss
